Wangxia Fort (Portuguese: Fortaleza de Mong-Há), also known as Wangxia Mountain Fort, Lianfeng Mountain Fort and Niggar Mountain Fort, is a composite medium and small fort built in 1849 and built in 1866 on the top of Wangxia Mountain (also known as Lianfeng Mountain) in the north of the Macau Peninsula at an altitude of 60.7 meters. It was one of the military defense strongholds of Portugal's colonial period. The Wangxia Fort and the Majiaoshi Fort in the northeast of the Macau Peninsula have joined forces to form an important defense line used by the former Macao and Portuguese government to control the land and sea areas north of the peninsula. The unique thing about the fort compared with other forts in Macau is that it is the only land fort in Macau that does not have sea defense capabilities, and its mouth is facing northward mainland China.
