This city is fascinating! Today...(A-MA Goddess Statue and Temple).A-Ma is the goddess of seafarers. This statue, sculptured by Lung Man Nin and erected in 1998, is the tallest A-Ma statue in the world! Legend tells that A-Ma protected fishermen and merchants who sailed to Macau. In gratitude for her protection from the perils of the sea, a temple was erected and she was worshiped long before the Portuguese arrived, back in the 16th century. When the Portugueses settled here, they called the land "Macau", meaning "the port of A-Ma".ONE OF THE TOURIST SPOT HERE IN MACAU 🥰🥰#macautrip#myTripvlog#awesomepictures#Macau

St. Austin Church (commonly known as Gangding St. IgrejadeSaoAgostinho), located in front of the Gangding of Macau, is part of Macau's historic city. The Church of St. Austin was founded by Spanish friars in 1591. The church was originally built very simple, and the priests covered the roof with sunflower leaves to cover the wind and rain; Whenever the wind blows, the sunflower leaves fly with the wind, the Chinese look far away, feel that this scene like the dragon must erect, called the church "Longxu Temple", and then in Cantonese to change to "Longxu Temple". After the church was rebuilt in 1874, it forms today's scale. The church's annual two-day cruising of the Statue of Jesus, which has a history of more than 400 years, is one of the important festivals of the Catholic Church in Macau. In 2005, it was included in the World Heritage List as part of the historic city of Macau.
