City Garden, Jurong Lake Gardens
The lake area has been renovated and now looks more pleasant and full of people. It used to be the regular park with people jogging and walking in monotonous looking plants and shrubs. Now the garden plants are mixed and designed after Balinese style, which looks a lot better. The chinese and japanese gardens are somewhat abandoned after the new park opens..not many people.
If you are going on a weekend, beware of so many NParks volunteers and tour groups, dog (hush puppy dogs) people at the dog park. Very crowded. Overall is a nice walk around the lake, with organised pathways and greenery and exotic plants. Some of the plants are still new and maybe in another 6-12 months, will mature and look better.
New playgrounds and sitting areas and a resident CRAZY woodpecker pecking on the lamp-post is available at the Japanese Garden main gate.

The Forest Ramble at Jurong Lake Gardens is made up of a group of playgrounds offering a wide variety of play equipment and options, both for the young kids and older ones. An excellent place to bring the children for an outing.
Definitely an underrated place for a chill walk or jog in the city state!! One of the largest manmade lake in Singapore, Jurong Lake Garden is a peaceful oasis!! Highly recommended!
