around kitahama in sakaisuji
Original Text
I visited the historic sites and famous places near Kitahama Station on the map. 16 At the end of the century, he started brewing sake in Itami, advanced to Osaka to operate a currency exchange dealer, and developed into the largest chaebol in Japan in the Edo period, centering on the Konoike Zenemon family. It is located on a stone monument where the main house of the Konoike family was located, and is engraved as the site of the former Konoike family's main house.
It is said that Shinroku Koike, the eldest son of Kasuke Yamanaka, a loyal retainer of the amago family, started the brewing business in Itami. Shinroku was blessed with many children, and the lineage of the eighth son who ran a money changer became a wealthy merchant representing the Edo period by lending daimyo. Currently, there are only stone plates, but it would be interesting if there was something to know how big a mansion was.
A stone monument built on the corner of the Osaka Art Club Building, west of Imahashi-dori on Kitahama Sakaisuji. He was a wealthy merchant at Namba Senba, ran a sake brewing, shipping, and currency exchange, and became the highest ranking Ozeki in the choja ranking. It is said that the main house was sold to the Osaka Art Club and is now available.
There is a monument at the corner of the Osaka Art Club Building.

There is only a monument engraved with the site of the former Konoike family's main residence at the corner of the building of the Osaka Art Club on Imahashi-dori. The Koike family was a wealthy merchant in the Edo period, and Koike Bank connected to Sanwa Bank in Kansai and also connected to the current Mitsubishi UFJ Bank. The Osaka headquarters of the Mitsubishi UFJ Bank and the former Sanwa Bank head office are located in Midosuji, and I feel the connection with this place.
It was a place that was not listed in the guidebook at hand, and it was on a map that guided the famous places and historic sites of the area just outside the Kitahama subway station, so I came. It was the place as shown on the map, but I didn't notice it immediately after seeing only the monument. However, I realized that this area has been the commercial center of Osaka for a long time.
