A fantastic experience! Both attractions are well worth visiting. Those who enjoy history and culture shouldn't miss Boyana Cathedral; it's small, but the frescoes inside are fascinating (one depicts the Last Supper, predating Leonardo da Vinci's version, with a completely different composition). Our guide, Martin, was incredibly kind and his explanations were very entertaining, like listening to a stand-up comedy routine—he really knew how to keep everyone engaged. Also, if you buy bread outside the Rila Monastery, there are three types. The best is the Traditional (middle denomination, 1 local currency). The other two are enormous, weighing a pound (750 grams)! The day before the trip, you'll receive an email with the meeting time and guide's name; arriving 10 minutes early is usually sufficient.

Great way to explore the snowy forest, I find when skiing I spend the whole time looking down so was great to be able to look around and enjoy the scenery. Safe, comfortable and fun.

Customer service was able to contact us in advance, and the day trip that included two classic attractions was excellent. The itinerary was well-planned, and the tour guide was enthusiastic, professional, and provided thorough explanations throughout.

Boyana church is very impressive. A portion is nearly 1,000 years old and in very good condition. It felt like walking back in time. Rila is a lovely serene place. I can see why the monks built their Monestary in this location.


