Reviews: Stroll through Kyoto's Arashiyama | Ride the Arashiyama Sagano romantic train & experience the Hozugawa river boat ride canyon rafting tour
Guest User2026-07-12
Thinking about visiting Arashiyama immediately brings to mind Tenryu-ji Temple, the Sagano Scenic Railway, and the Hozu River rafting. This was a simple one-day tour, with a guide providing pick-up and drop-off at each attraction, explaining everything in detail, and then we were free to explore on our own. I was very happy that there were no hard-sell sales pitches. Thank you to our guide, Zhao Wentai, who contacted us the day before departure and arranged for direct pick-up and drop-off from Osaka to Arashiyama, saving us a lot of travel time. He also clearly explained the pick-up and drop-off arrangements before and after each attraction, ensuring a smooth trip. The Hozu River rafting was unforgettable; I'll definitely be back in Arashiyama!
Reviews: Kyoto: Arashiyama Day Tour with Train, Boat, and Onsen
Guest User2026-07-31
I'd like to thank our guide, Itsuki, for providing us with fans, water, tissues, and other items throughout the tour. He described where we should sit on the train, arranged scenic spots on the boat, and kept us company during our walks. The nostalgic train was lovely, but the river boat trip was on a shallow river due to the hot summer weather; there was no attempt at rafting. The bamboo forest was also refreshing. I paid 1200 yen for the onsen; you can also rent or buy towels if you want, but I didn't pay attention because I had my own towel, and I think a towel was 200 yen. I think the tour is more enjoyable in spring or other seasons, as the heat can be a bit uncomfortable.
