Very enjoyable adventure - I’m a novice (and nervous) horse rider while my husband has more experience. Our guide selected the perfect ponies to match our skills- which meant I felt very secure & comfortable on my lovely pony while husband has a friskier pony. Our guides split us into two groups - very experienced went on a more adventurous ride while our group of seven had a pleasant and interesting ride through the valley, finding several large streams, seeing steaming mud pools, billowing geothermal steam vents, and the stunning, otherworldly landscape. We were curious about the tolt- the unique gait that only Icelandic ponies have- our guide said they do let riders try this but not always. I think if you ask at the start, you may be able to try this. Look up the history of the ponies before you go- fascinating! We booked through Get Your Guide, super easy. Be sure to tip your guides !

Mr. Cuba, the driver for Bus Travel, was an excellent guide and driver. We fully experienced the highlights of the trip. He drove steadily and provided a lot of information about the attractions.

The bus was on time, the hot spring environment was beautiful, and it wasn't too crowded, which made it a lovely experience.
