The best option for visiting Mount Koya is a small day tour. Public transportation to Mount Koya involves many transfers and takes a long time, so this small group tour was very comfortable! There were 5 of us on this trip, and our guide, Hanazawa, spoke Chinese, Japanese, and English, so communication was seamless throughout the tour. Hanazawa introduced us to various natural, historical, and cultural aspects of Mount Koya and even took us to sample local cuisine! Mount Koya is definitely worth a visit—a tranquil journey not to be missed.

The trip was very well organized, with a group of just the right size and a well-planned itinerary. The group leader shared interesting and informative insights. What made the trip truly special was the peaceful atmosphere and the area’s rich historical depth. The fire ritual was unforgettable, as was the walk through the mysterious cemetery. A truly memorable and enriching experience!
