Itinerary Overview
Explore Rio de Janeiro all day and experience the city's classic attractions. First, take a train to the Christ the Redeemer Statue atop Corcovado Mountain, then admire the magnificent panoramic views outside Maracanã stadium. The tour also includes brief stops at Sambódromo, Metropolitan Cathedral, and Selarón Steps. After enjoying lunch at a steakhouse, take a cable car up to Sugarloaf Mountain.
You'll depart from your beachfront hotel in Rio and head to Cosme Velho station to board the Corcovado Mountain train. The 20-minute ride takes you through tropical forests, ascending from sea level to the summit of Corcovado Mountain where you'll see the Christ the Redeemer statue—one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Then, drive past the legendary Maracanã Stadium (exterior) before heading to the Sambadrome, the exciting venue of Rio de Janeiro's Carnival. Visit the unique Metropolitan Cathedral, a modern architectural marvel inspired by Mayan pyramids. Admire the world-famous Selarón Steps, renowned for their vibrant tiles, one of Rio de Janeiro's most distinctive landmarks. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious grilled lunch at a local steakhouse.
After lunch, we will head to Sugarloaf Mountain located in the Urca neighborhood. Take two cable cars, first reaching Urca Mountain, then continuing the ascent to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain at an elevation of 1,295 feet (395m). You'll conclude the tour with a stunning panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro before returning to your beachfront hotel in Rio.
