The buildings in the temple are simple, elegant, and the Mahavira Hall is solemn. Here, you can experience a strong Buddhist atmosphere and admire the exquisite Buddha statues and Buddhist murals.
Leshan Giant Buddha: Leaving Lingyun Temple, you can see the world-famous Leshan Giant Buddha. The head of the Leshan Giant Buddha is as high as the mountain. It is 14.7 meters high and 10 meters wide, with 1051 hair buns and ears 7 meters long. It is carved into the mountain and sits facing the river in a solemn and majestic posture. You can walk down to the Buddha's feet along the zigzag ancient plank road on both sides of the Buddha to feel the grandeur of the Buddha up close. You can appreciate the carving details of the Buddha from different angles, such as the facial expressions and hand postures of the Buddha, and marvel at the exquisite carving skills of the ancients. At the feet of the Buddha, you can also see the magnificent scenery of the confluence of the three rivers. The Minjiang River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River converge here, with the river water surging and showing great momentum.
After returning from the Buddha's feet, you can also visit surrounding scenic spots such as Dongpo Tower and Lingbao Pagoda. Dongpo Tower was built to commemorate the Song Dynasty litterateur Su Dongpo. Here, you can learn about the origin of Su Dongpo and Leshan and his literary achievements.
