- You can use this card to pay at designated convenience stores, food courts, or vending machines without needing cash.
- Staff can provide assistance services for passengers with disabilities.
- When adding value, place your Octopus card on the Octopus reader until you hear a "beep" and see the transaction completion and balance display before removing it. If the transaction fails due to moving the card too quickly, place the Octopus card on the same machine again.
- Do not place more than one Octopus card or other contactless smart card on the Octopus card reader at the same time.
- Do not alter the Octopus card in any way, including bending, writing on, scratching, cutting, or attaching stickers, photos, or other decorations. Otherwise, the Octopus transaction will not be recognized, and the remaining balance will not be refunded.
- If you book an Octopus card for rent, a deposit of HKD 50 will be charged for each card upon redemption. When returning the card, the staff will refund the deposit and the remaining balance on the card, with a fee of HKD 9 charged per card.service fee
- If the balance on the Octopus card is zero or negative, the card cannot be used until it is topped up.
- Octopus cards can be reloaded with cash at thousands of locations across Hong Kong (7-Eleven, Circle K, 759 A-Sun Store, McDonald's, VanGO Convenience Store, Watsons, Mannings, etc.).
- The unused balance on the card can be refunded in cash at any MTR station (except the Airport Express counter).
The operating hours for Counter A13 in the arrival hall of Hong Kong International Airport are from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, while Counter B2-15 at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station operates from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Please ensure you arrive within these time frames, as cancellations are not permitted outside these hours.
Please pick up your Octopus card at the selected location when placing your order. Collecting it from another address may result in the card being unusable.
