After comparing several Cangshan-Erhai day tours, I finally chose this one and it was a great choice! I was torn between Ximatan and Gantong, but I'm so glad I chose Gantong – it was much better value for money. The cable car route is lined with lush vegetation, perfect for girls like us who don't want strenuous hiking. Be sure to go to the top deck on the Erhai Lake cruise ship; the view is breathtaking, watching the villages and islands slowly recede into the distance – it's incredibly soothing. The itinerary was well-connected, avoiding the hassle of transfers. The tour guide was very friendly and even discreetly pointed out the best photo spots. It was a pure sightseeing tour with no hidden costs. If you want to experience both Cangshan and Erhai in one day but don't want to plan your own itinerary, this is a great option.

The eight of us who had planned the backpacking trip only had one day to spare in Dali. Our itinerary involved taking a train from Kunming the previous evening, doing a day tour, and heading to Lijiang the next morning. Initially, we intended to take a taxi or bus, but we decided that while a private car tour would cost a bit more, it would be more cost-effective. The private car driver paid meticulous attention to detail, such as using a smartphone for translation and always parking closest to our destinations. Thanks to him, we completed a comfortable day tour. At Xizhou Ancient Town, about 100 meters from the entrance, there was a coffee shop opposite the public restroom that was atmospheric and very affordable. They ground the beans on the spot and made an Americano for 5 yuan. In other places, Maxim coffee was 5 yuan. Shuanglang Ancient Town was not very impressive. The S-shaped riverside road offered great photo opportunities. Chongjing Temple, with its Three Pagodas, was also nice.

The itinerary was exceptionally well-planned, exceeding expectations. Our tour guide, Zhang Ling, was incredibly responsible, meticulous, enthusiastic, and attentive. The drive was smooth, she provided detailed explanations, and answered all our questions. She even bought some Xizhou Baba (a type of local snack) with her own money to share with us. The group members got along harmoniously, showing consideration and care for one another; we had a wonderful day together. The Erhai Lake day trip arranged through Ctrip is excellent value for money and trustworthy.
