The main thing is that it's very close to the airport, which is convenient. The price isn't too expensive either; I booked it for my staff. I think the hotel is quite good, and I'll book it again next time I have the chance to visit.

i stayed in another room but surely it was the same experience as everyone else i guess, accessible to everything, safe to stay and the amenities are excellent... just realized before i checked out, the drinks at the bar was not that expensive, maybe because it's local rate and we are in the philippines... idk, i'm just used to see skyrocket prices of everythinv when you dine in a 4/5 star hotels

We were greeted warmly by staff who treated us with genuine hospitality — their attentiveness set the tone for our entire stay. Many previous guests also praised the staff’s politeness and readiness to help.  We stayed in a studio apartment, and it was nothing short of comfortable. The room came with a kitchenette, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, and free WiFi — extremely convenient whether you’re staying briefly or planning a longer stay.  The modern fittings and thoughtful layout made it easy to relax or be productive: there was enough space to move around, and everything was clean and well-kept. Cleanliness, indeed, stood out during our stay — a point frequently echoed by other guests.  One of the highlights was the leisure amenities. We took full advantage of the outdoor swimming pool — a serene little oasis perfect for a morning dip or evening unwind. Some guests mentioned that certain rooms felt a bit cramped or that balcony areas were under-utilized due to cleanliness concerns.  There were occasional gripes about maintenance — for example, shower drains draining slowly or small furniture quirks — and a few found the elevator access between towers a bit awkward, especially if coming from parking.  A minority even felt the place fell short of 5-star expectations in certain respects.  Still, for us, these were minor blemishes compared to the overall positive experience. What stood out was how the hotel blends comfort, convenience, and courteous service with enough extras to feel like more than just a “place to sleep.” The pool, spa, and kitchen-equipped rooms make it a strong choice for families, couples, business travellers — essentially anyone who values a balance of luxury and practicality. It has a beautiful garden. The food in the restaurant is nice. Seats are inside in a Filipino style room, outside you can enjoy the spacious lush garden while have lunch/dinner. The rooms are large, beds comfortable. It is a bit older but the Charme of this resort is stunning. There is a shuttle boat to beaches at Samal island. Short ride to malls, with grab no problem at all. The breakfast is solid. I would say this was my best stay in Davao.

Me and my family had a great time. Service crew are very polite and helpful. Amenities were superb. We love the beach. It is pricy but worth it. There are some mishap with the list of guests given to the guard upon entry that he needs to check again with concierge. The guard said that there was only one room booked instead of 2. Also the list given to the staff on the number of guests for the complimentary breakfast was only for 4 adults instead of 5. We stayed for 2 nights and there was no problem on the first day. Overall, I would highly recommend Discovery Samal.

Disappointing Family Stay Despite Beautiful Resort This was our first time staying at Dusit Thani Plantation, and unfortunately, it may also be our last. While the resort itself is beautiful, with excellent amenities and friendly staff, the overall service and experience were very disappointing. Check-in: We had to wait an extra hour before our room was ready. This was very difficult as we were traveling with two babies who were already tired and needed to rest. Food: Dining was one of the biggest letdowns. We expected high prices, but unfortunately, the quality did not match. During breakfast, the ham served was spoiled, yet instead of apologizing, the staff insisted that the smell was just “because of spices.” I pointed out it tasted sour, but the head chef defended it after tasting himself. Other food items were bland, and our T-bone steak, ordered medium well, came out completely well-done. Room: The room itself was cozy, but our sleep was disturbed by noises coming from the ceiling at night—sounding like cats or rats. Service: Staff were polite but very slow and unorganized. I had to ask multiple times for our bags to be delivered, and in the end, I had to walk all the way to reception to collect them myself. Transportation carts were too few to accommodate guests, and the overall check-in experience was the worst we’ve had—no welcome drinks were provided even though they were supposed to be included. In summary, Dusit Thani Plantation offers a beautiful environment and facilities, but service, food quality, and guest handling fell far short of expectations. For the price paid, we expected a smooth and relaxing family getaway, but instead, it turned into a stressful experience.

First time in Davao and Samal Island.The location is very near the wharf.The staff were friendly and helpful.Woke up very early and they were already cleaning the pool and surrounding areas for the guests.We had a good time in the pool and a little walking in the beach.

At first, I thought it might be a bit weird, but I like how clean and clean it is, and I like it even more because my privacy is protected. And I plan to use it again next time.
