Mount Vesuvius Review

We visited Mount Vesuvius as part of a full day that included Pompeii and it was absolutely wonderful.As we ascended the mountain we stopped mid way for the best pizza I have ever tasted. The little restaurant (which I am ashamed to say I don't remember the name of) unfortunately had a power outage shortly before we arrived. That did not stop them from welcoming us warmly and providing wonderful wood fired pizza for our lunch.From there it was on the Mount Vesuvius herself. There was poor visibility but luckily the rain had passed and we were able to hike to the rim of the crater. Unable to see in to the rim itself because of the low lying fog did not dampen the wonder of being at the top. If anything it added to the magic. Truly an experience of a lifetime.

Located on the east coast of the Gulf of Naples in southern Italy, Mount Vesuvius erupted violently in 79 AD, destroying the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum nearby at the time, and now the volcano and ancient city have become famous tourist attractions in Italy. The plank road only builds a distance of half the crater. The crater is black with charred black and white smoke is coming out at the bottom.

Because of the fame of Mount Vesuvius, only dare to shoot far away to avoid repeating the tragedy of Pompeii. Standing in Naples and overlooking Mount Vesuvius, he is so quiet and beautiful.

Vesuvius is an active volcano on the European continent, located on the eastern coast of the Bay of Naples in southern Italy, where the world's largest volcanic Observatory is located and still smoking. Mountain roads are not tired, but they are all volcanic ash. It is recommended to wear shoes suitable for mountain climbing. Never be white. The view on the top of the mountain is good, probably because of volcanic ash, a little hazy.

Some people say it's a big crater. The top of the mountain is really a crater. I went in January, winter. From downtown to the hillside, the driver gave us a ride and let us climb. I thought it was interesting. The view on the hill was very broad, the scenery was very good, and the fog was like a fairyland.

从那不勒斯火车站出发，十几分钟到赫兰尼姆遗址站下来，有大巴往返火山，包含门票，20欧/人，开过去要40分钟左右，司机给我们90分钟，时间还是挺充裕的；上山的路满陡的，爬了一会就喘不上气了，平时严重缺乏锻炼啊；到了半山，开始下雨，还是越来越大的那种，火山下的风景雾茫茫一片，只能看到个轮廓；再往上有个火山坑，大家都在那里拍拍拍，随便按了几张就闪了，山上温度太低，又冷又下雨☔️，只想快点下山，不太顺利的火山之行啊；这里完全️任何手机信号，开出山区后，老老远才正常；这里的纪念品做的都挺粗糙的，价格也不便宜，对了，上厕所在商店里，需要任意消费，店员才让你上，为了方便下，只能买瓶饮料了
