Gosh, where do I even begin? This stay was frankly perfect.
The view was amazing, the open-air private bath was amazing, the service was amazing, the food provided was amazing. There’s even a shuttle bus from the nearby station.
I loved it. My friends loved it. The staff even ran across the whole lobby lounge from the check-in counter, and did a full dive into the souvenir store counter for us. Most memorable icecream buying experience.
The tallest building around the area so you cannot miss it. It is a huge hotel with a convention centre right beside it, thus there were quite a few tour groups at the hotel as well. It is also right beside a park with a nice running/walking pavement along Biwako. A supermarket is also located 5-10mins walk away.
Hotel has its own convenient store at the lobby (not 24/7 though) and a couple of restaurants within as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Was a little disappointed the hotel does not have microwave ovens for guests use though.
Parking was outdoor and parking is free if we sign up for their membership (free) through their app.
Room is huge and view was great with our high floor room offering a great view of Biwako especially in the morning with the sunrise. The toilet and bathroom are separated thus making it more convenient for us.
We enjoyed our stay here.
A beautiful hotel with a stunning view of Lake Biwa. The Shuttle bus to and from Katata station made it convenient, as long as you time your transport well, and the staff were very friendly and professional. We recommend staying here for a more peaceful and luxurious experience in Kyoto outside of the city, and it would also be good to visit shirahige shrine and cycle around Lake Biwa!
First time staying at this hotel! It's not super close to the JR station, but they do have a shuttle bus. It's about a 15-minute walk otherwise. The hotel itself is very large and impressive, and the front desk staff were incredibly warm and professional. The room was spacious with a beautiful view, all facing the lake. It was also very clean and the facilities felt relatively new. The large public bath on the fourth floor was very convenient to use, well-equipped, and also offered a nice view. Breakfast was abundant, with both Japanese and Western options, and the service staff were very friendly. All in all, if I visit Lake Biwa again, I'll definitely stay here!
The hotel is located in a very special place. It is in the village, right by Lake Biwa. There are dinner and breakfast. The dinner is the famous local Sukiyaki pot, and the breakfast is traditional food. The hotel is very clean, but the facilities are old. There is a public bathroom and outdoor hot spring where you can look up at the stars. We are the only family living on the whole floor. Due to the location, there are very few people. The toilet is outside the house, which is a bit inconvenient. The service is very Japanese, warm and polite.
