First off, mainland Chinese tourists need to adjust their expectations. On an island like this, amenities and infrastructure are naturally not as comprehensive, so some inconveniences are to be expected. Now, regarding the room: it was very clean, and the view from the balcony was excellent. There was plenty of hot water, although the water pressure was inconsistent, fluctuating between strong and weak. However, this is quite normal, and the hot water was very hot, perfect for washing hair and showering. The town only has one main road, and the hotel is right by it, making getting around very convenient. The town center is just a five-minute walk away. Next to the hotel is a park, and the bubble ice on its lake is even more beautiful than Lake Baikal's. I recommend bringing a thermos of hot water to take photos there. Breakfast was plentiful. I stayed in a room on the third floor of a small building, and I suggest booking a similar room type. These rooms are closer to the hot water facilities, so the toilet flush and hot water supply are more consistent. The front desk is often unstaffed, but if you add the owner on WeChat, they will respond – I recommend doing so. The owner's cat is very friendly and loves being petted. I brought cat food and treats, and it really enjoyed them.
Excellent Hotel in the Heart of Irkutsk
I stayed at the historic “Tsentral” hotel during my trip to Irkutsk and was extremely pleased with my choice.
First and foremost, its ideal location is worth noting. The hotel is situated on a quiet side street in the very center of the city, in a late 19th-century historic building. All major attractions, museums, and the Angara embankment are within walking distance. Despite this central location, it was completely quiet outside at night, ensuring a peaceful sleep.
The room (I stayed in a designer retro room) was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. It featured a very comfortable bed with high-quality bedding, a modern bathroom, and nice extras like bathrobes, slippers, and toiletries.
The service deserves special commendation. The front desk staff were very welcoming and responsive, assisting with all my inquiries. Upon check-in, I was even treated to a signature liqueur – a pleasant Siberian gesture.
I definitely recommend this hotel for both business trips and leisure. The value for money here is among the best in the city. I will certainly stay here again during my next visit to Irkutsk!
Traveling to Lake Baikal in winter, stay in the town of Li for two days and stay at the legendary Baikara. The hotel is built next to the lake and is very unique. It is an attraction in itself. I booked a lake view room. Although the room is not big, you can enjoy the incomparable sunset of Lake Baikal standing in front of the window, which is really comfortable. The front desk does not speak English, but communication is smooth through a translator. Alipay and WeChat are available at the hotel front desk, and the front desk can also help call a taxi. What deserves special recommendation is the hotel's own restaurant, which is delicious, reasonably priced and has a good sense of service. When we checked in, we saw many Russians dining and it felt good, so we tried it and didn't expect it to taste really good. We had two meals in a row because it was delicious. Next time I want to go in summer, I will stay at this hotel. The lake view is so beautiful!

Knowing the quality of service of the lodges on Lake Baikal, the hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located a little away from Khuzhir, overlooking the famous rock of Olkhon Island (popularly called the picture). Externally, the houses look like a children's camp)), the rooms inside are quite comfortable. There is a swimming pool on site and a free sauna nearby. Considering the cold water of Baikal, warming up and taking a dip in the sauna is great. The restaurant's food is delicious, but the prices are a bit expensive, but the breakfast is a gorgeous buffet, everything is delicious!
The Hotel Kurshavel provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Baykal'sk will find that the Hotel Kurshavel is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel offers easy access to Bajkaljsk-Pass., just 1km away. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.
The hotel and service were very enjoyable from the recipes to the breakfast in the room. The cozy rooms, designers managed to combine classic, elegant with the literary and historical retro style inspired by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. The mirrors were particularly impressed from the ceiling to the floor. Interesting design in the corridors. The overall atmosphere is intelligent, warm, a little old, but without excessive pompousness. Everything in the hotel is filled with the atmosphere of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, in the elevator read his poems, in the rooms is a book of poems and even chocolate hand-work with his image. Thank you for the chic breakfasts! ❤️
This hotel, newly opened in 2025 in the town of Listkavyan, boasts beautifully decorated and uniquely styled rooms with stunning snowscapes and lake views. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean, with ample hot water for showers. The owner and staff are mostly Chinese, making communication easy. The price is particularly reasonable, offering excellent value for money in a popular tourist area during peak season.
Although it's a bit far from the attractions, Ms. Fen from the hotel was incredibly helpful, arranging rides for us both to and from the destination. Her service was impeccable, and getting there was a breeze.
We booked three rooms for six people, making it the most affordable yet most satisfying accommodation of our six-night trip to Baikal. Highly recommended!
The location is very good, the pink building of the main building is a landmark of Lizhen, and the minibus station is downstairs, and the transportation is convenient. If you live in an attached building, it is a little cheaper, health can be, the bed in the twin room is a narrow bed... If the room is on the front, you can still see the lake view. The breakfast and other rights are the same. His buffet breakfast has many varieties and good quality. ~
