Everything about this place was great! The courtyard was clean and even had little cats. Communication in Chinese was seamless, and the owner was a really nice, young guy from mainland China. There's also a pool in the courtyard, which was lovely for an evening breeze. It's super close to the pier, just a few minutes' walk, so getting around was easy. The owner was incredibly helpful. The room had an electric mosquito repellent, and all the usual disposable toiletries were well-stocked. We even saw a group of people who thought they'd lost their phone, and the owner immediately helped them search for it, only for it to turn out it was in their car – it just goes to show how warm-hearted and positive the owner is, thumbs up! He also gave us tips on seafood prices to help us bargain and recommended some great restaurants for processing seafood. Honestly, it was a fantastic stay, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again if I come back.

The hotel's primary focus on Chinese guests is evident in its services and amenities, which are predominantly in Chinese. This should be clearly stated in the hotel description on the booking websites. The villa itself is well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with everything you need. The beds and linens are of good quality, the toiletries are nice, and the bathroom is modern and clean. The air conditioner is quiet, but the external unit is quite noisy. The exterior and garden are lovely and clean. The breakfast buffet was subpar, with cold food and coffee that required guests to microwave (completely in Chinese) it themselves, which was also a major inconvenience. Yet, the variety and quality of food was good and tasty. The staff seemed indifferent to the lack of coffee and food, and the lady who came to ”check” on us only brought coffee when we asked. Overall, our stay was satisfactory, but this place definitely needs to improve its hospitality and guest service. Given the above this place is too overpriced.

We booked the wrong flight and found Anaya on the spur of the moment. We were surprised by how clean and comfortable it was. The family room was huge and very comfortable. It's one of the better hotels in town. You can walk to the pier in two minutes. Good food is about a five-minute walk away. The location is great.

I highly recommend this beachfront hotel in Semporna! The location is amazing, directly facing the crystal-clear blue sea. Just open the window and you're greeted by the azure ocean and sky. Wake up to the gentle sound of the waves in the morning, and watch the sunset over the sea from the balcony in the evening – every frame is wallpaper-worthy, and every photo you take will be a masterpiece! 📸 The rooms are clean, tidy, and odor-free, with a spacious and airy layout. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the toiletries are complete and brand new. The hot water and air conditioning are excellent, making for a very comfortable stay. The hotel's overall environment has a wonderful island vibe, surrounded by greenery and a gentle sea breeze – quiet, soothing, and perfect for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle. The service is also top-notch! The staff are warm, attentive, and gentle, always ready to help with any needs. They even thoughtfully arrange island hopping and snorkeling, making your trip incredibly hassle-free. Conveniently located downstairs, with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, it's excellent value for money! Choosing this hotel for your Semporna vacation is definitely a safe bet. The experience was fantastic, and I've already recommended it to friends. I'll definitely stay here again next time! 🌊

i had problem during my check in process where they can't find my booking and the room was occupied by other visitors. i booked 4 months in advance but still they missed my book. and at first they cant help me out, and ask me to make a phone call to that trip.com. i was so disappointed at that time because is late at night, and i already paid for it in advance. But luckily one of the staff offered me to stay in another kind of room without any extra charges.

We had a perfect time at Eaglebay Retreat. It’s truly an undisturbed paradise. You have an entire house and hundreds of meters of coastline all to yourself. Every morning, you can wake up in the sunshine and decide whether to go snorkeling or just relax in the sun—you have the choice. The sunsets were always perfect, and experiencing them on a paddleboard is far better than being in a crowded place like KK. At the same time, the retreat offers a wide range of activities that are both rich and reasonably priced—paddleboarding, jet skiing, kayaking, and more, so you’ll never feel bored. During our stay, Arlyn and h is family provided us with everything we needed: they inflated our paddleboards, helped us arrange sea activities, climbed trees to pick coconuts for us, and prepared delicious meals. Whenever we needed them, they were always available, without intruding on our privacy. Their presence was always perfectly balanced. I would also like to thank Faizal, who did a lot of work before our arrival, and Jamri, the kind lady who helped us recover our lost Apple Pencil during our stay. She assisted in finding it, came up with several ways to return it (considering Eaglebay Retreat’s remote location), and finally delivered it to my friend personally, asking for nothing in return. Your kindness will be remembered. Yes, I think we would definitely recommend this place to our friends, and we will visit Eaglebay again in the future.

The room was clean and tidy, and the service from the front desk and logistics ladies was very good. The breakfast was simple, but there were staple meats, eggs and bread, and the staple meats were different for three days. There was a place on the balcony where you could wash your clothes by hand. It was a pity that there was no kettle, only one stool, and the hot water was relatively small.

An New Year's Eve experience that completely exceeded expectations! The overwater bungalows have fewer than 10 rooms, making it lively but never noisy. We snorkeled in the crystal-clear waters, accompanied by schools of fish and sea turtles, bidding farewell to 2025. We paddle-boarded on the Pacific Ocean, bathed in the morning sun and dawn light, welcoming 2026. Every meal at the hotel was different and delicious, perfectly suited for Chinese palates and incredibly satisfying. The hotel staff, particularly the Malaysian guy, was fantastic! He accompanied us snorkeling and cliff jumping, taught us paddleboarding, and helped the kids dig for crabs and spot sea turtles. His phone photography was as good as a professional's; he was always available for free photoshoots and even provided great emotional support! The thoughtful details at the overwater bungalow's front desk, like sunscreen, sun hats, children's toys, and books, were a delightful surprise. And hearing Jay Chou and JJ Lin songs playing in the restaurant brought back so many memories from my school days! From diving during high tide to beachcombing at low tide, karaoke after dinner, midnight fireworks over the ocean, and morning ocean yoga – our family enjoyed all these experiences completely free without even leaving the hotel!

1️⃣地理位置距離碼頭差不多1.2km左右，走路20來分鐘，或者坐酒店班車過去都可以，但過去的路非常破，甚至沒有人行道，晚上有點危險。 2️⃣酒店位於一個院子裏，辦理入住以及酒店工作人員都在院裏，如果外面有人講話，室內基本沒有隔音會聽到，同樣室內講話室外路過也可以聽到，追求私隱和安靜的慎入 3️⃣房間內部非常簡陋，窗簾都沒有，衹有一個羅馬簾，廁所甚至沒有窗簾😰 如果住一樓的話晚上基本沒有私隱了，為啥窗簾都不捨得整一個，屬實難受 4️⃣晚上會很吵，會有各種蟲鳴鳥叫，然後摩託車經過的聲音，並且我住的房間外面一直有莫名的持續的機械嗡嗡聲，非常吵，然後凌晨四點旁邊還開始用大喇叭誦經禱告了，一晚上基本就是在各種噪音中度過，非常折磨😩 5️⃣早飯就是一個蛋一碗拌麪，吃完就可以去跳島了 總之這個價位不推薦入住，真的太吵太吵了，本身住酒店最重要的就是休息，而且房間沒有窗簾私隱性差，這邊經常下雨，一樓還會有水臭味和黴味，很一般的酒店，對不起這個價位，個人認為反正都是吵還不如住碼頭邊得了。

There were only bath towels in the room, no towels, no shampoo or shower gel, only small soap. Lahad Datu is not a big city, more than 100 meters away from the beach and 1.3 kilometers away from the long-distance bus station. There are many restaurants around.
