Long-awaited Sabah sunset, finally seen again! After four years apart, I missed it so much. Fortunately, just arrived and checked in at Magellan Sutera Resort, I encountered a stunning sunset and evening glow. Sutera Harbour Resort, a local brand and the largest resort in Sabah, sits on 384 acres of bay area adjacent to the city of Kota Kinabalu. The resort features a golf club, yacht club, Pacific Sutera Hotel, and Magellan Sutera Resort. For this trip, we chose the Magellan Sutera Resort, which draws inspiration from the traditional longhouse architecture of the Sabah indigenous tribe, the Kadazan-Dusun. The resort's distinctive orange roofs stand out against the backdrop of the azure sea. Magellan boasts a long and charming coastline, complemented by a large swimming pool and beautiful garden landscapes. It also features a large leisure pool exclusively for children, making it a great choice for family vacations. If you want to visit the nearby islands, the Silk Harbor Terminal within the hotel provides a convenient way to reach the five islands of Tenggol Island Marine Park in just a short boat ride. The sea view room we stayed in this time was of moderate size and well-equipped. The best part was being able to enjoy the expansive sea view and intoxicating sunset from the balcony. Sabah is known as one of the "world's three most beautiful sunsets", and being able to privately enjoy this dreamy scenery from our own room, what could be more delightful than this!

Getting There - From KKIA took about 10 minutes. it's really close to gaya street. Attractions - if you would like to go manukan island, you can do a day trip from this hotel to jetty. Hotels - Me booked a seaview room. including breakfast. there is no deposit since i had fully paid the hotel in advance. the room was huge and cozy. old furniture but clean and comfy. there is a balcony which facing the sea and it is really nice. Food & Restaurants - The food is tasty. the selection also a lot. the ambience of restaurant is great! We really cannot believe this resort is located at the heart of Kota Kinabalu. The greenery of the frost is just unbelievable, and harbour view is so beautiful! One of the best resorts I have ever been to..service is good and attentive. Rooms are clean and well decorated. The scenic beauty around the hotel and pool area is unimaginable! Stunning Harbour View!

A short getaway staycation at The Magellan Sutera was kinda amazing! The stunning harbour view is just incredible! The swimming pool area one of the best in Malaysia, its huge and can accommodate all the hotel guests. We just spend whole day here enjoying the view and the swimming pool! The rooms is abit old but the beds were very comfortable, if they can renovate abit will be perfect! Don’t miss the sunset harbour view, it’s just unforgettable! #resortstyle The MagellanSutera Resort Shoutout to one of the best hotels I've ever been privileged enough to stay at, located at Kota Kinabalu Sabah. We spent one night here and it it was totally worth it (but obviously it feels like not enough). Let's talk about the room first, the room is so clean, so pretty, spacious and well maintained. We were so mesmerized the moment we stepped in. The view from our room is spectacular, the bed is so large and comfy, the shower room is chef's kiss. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service. The staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Many activities for children provided by the hotel. The pool is very big, beautiful and fun. And also it's a strategic location to see the sunset. We also had our dinner here, the foods are beyond our expectations, so tasty and well cooked. Couldn't get enough of it. Our booking included the breakfast and the breakfast is at its best, varieties of foods! The Magellan Resort is a really place to spend your holiday. The resort have plenty facilities that can occupy your day, they have Golf, ballroom, gymnasium, swimming pools, bowls, golf, indoor tennis court and many more. The swimming pools are awesome, just beside the sea so the view is superb! You can also just order a coconut drink and sit down relaxing the whole afternoon near to harbour front. The Magellan Sutera Resort - Sutera Harbour

#bucketlistreboot We stayed here when we arrived from Kota Belud. The was so big, with all amenities needed! Staff were also very friendly. The resort is situated on a private/gated peninsula concisting of two hotels (Magellan and Pacific) and a country club, and you can use all the features of those three as a guest; you do not actually need to leave the resort; everything you want and need is there! On premises (both the Magellan and Pacific in addition to the country club) you can choose from 8-10 different restaurants and bars, and all the food is great (the service at Al Fresco and Marina Café is somewhat slow) and the prices are reasonable. We didn’t get to really explore the resort as we lack of time. Too tired from the trail run and all I really need is a comfy bed. Really wanted to dip in the resorts beach but when we woke up, it’s late already. Next time we will definitely be back.

Also, we use our discount ticket at the well-known Mandara Spa, Buy 1 free 1 for all treatment. Indulging and pampering ourselves with the quick escape after our two-days of wedding reception was our best decision ever made. We jumped on the wedding wagon straight to Magellan Sutera Harbour the day after, welcomed with chocholate praline for two, then we head to the dock for our 30-mins sunset cruise. At 6pm, we went to the Mandara Spa and we picked the best time ever to soak in the floral bath! We got to enjoy the sunset view from the jacuzzi. After the spa, we had our romantic dinner at the Alfresco. Then, we had our best time in the huge bath tub in the bed room before sleeping. The two-days experience was amazing, the package is affordable and you can just simply book it on Sutera Harbour website!

All you need in one place is here. From the entrance until you arrive at the lobby, u'll know that u'll not going out. Sea view room has balcony and promise u an amazing sunset at South China Sea. Don't forget tea time at Alfresco. Try delicious Kebab at Alfresco with 180 degree view of South China Sea. Go dinner there and got many choice from western, Asian and also local food there. At Magellan, u also can choose room package with sunset cruise ride, dinner and breakfast with cheap price. Don't forget always to check with Trip.com. Breakfast there, got many choice. Magellan is a townhouse style cottage. The height of the building is generally around 4-5 floors. Each room has a separate small balcony. It must be high to have a sea view. The floor is low and only the garden view is available. The rooms are fully equipped, clean and tidy, spacious and bright. There is also a large terrace overlooking the pool and the sea. It is a fresh and natural place. It is a love of nature or a favorite. The ideal place for a quiet guest. came to Sabah mainly for vacations, of course, it is inseparable from the water. There are several swimming pools in the hotel, there are special children's pools, Olympic standard pools, sea view swimming pools in front of restaurants, infinity pools around the sea, slide pools. And rockery ladder pool. There is a small beach in front of the door for snorkeling, and there is a formal sea port that can jump to the island for a very convenient time. Staying here, even if you just sunbathe on the reef, face the sea for a lunch and dinner, then slowly walk to the lounge chair to enjoy the sun, enjoy the equator's daylight, watch the little animals drill on the beach, The mood will be beautiful.

Deserves my 5 star, though not the best hotel I've been to. Very clean and tidy in both common areas and room. Rooms come with a large balcony with an amazing view. Large compound a lot to explore just wished they had a better designed pool. Ordered extra bed, extra breakfast pass came with! Overall a great experience.
