#Takino Suzuran Hillside Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Awesome park! We all loved the beautiful flowers! What a wonderful feeling to enjoy nature!!! We could've stayed longer to not miss the last city bus. The park is vast and it is virtually impossible to cover all places in a day if you plan to cover the area slowly and hike around and enjoy the greenery of the entire park. We visited the Country Garden area which is accessible via bus using the Higashi Guchi and Chuo Guchi entrances. There are eating places at reasonable prices at the top of the Country Garden, and is a nice place for a slow walk among the flower fields around that area. Adjacent to the country garden is a short walk to the Kodomo park area which is suitable for children.

We loved this place! The entrance is for 450 yen and is totally worth it! We took a bus from the end of the Namboku line of the subway and got off at the central exit (last stop). This area is huge with many flowers in bloom at different seasons. There are different courses where visitors of all age can enjoy. Particularly this place seemed to be popular with children. There are many activities children can do here. We visited this place in april, which is just the onset of spring
Tip: Take your obento with you. Of course you can eat inside and the food is alright but if you want to enjoy outdoors, Obento would be nice!

#thingstodo If you like the outdoors and have half a day or even a full day especially if you have kids then this 400+ ha. park is a worthwhile visit. Accessible by both cars and by public transport the park lies on the outskirts of Sapporo. For the latter take the subway on the Namboku line all the way down to its Southern most & last stop, Makomanai Station. Exit up to the buses upstairs. There are several buses but the easiest would be Bus #106 at Platform 2 at the time of writing this. A 30-40 minute ride should find you at one of the 2 park entrances. For those taking the bus do note the last bus leaving to go back to Makomanai station is 1630hrs at least in Autumn. Expansive spaces of flower beds to well maintained forest walks the park caters well to kids as well with its many forest themed game parks. There’s also a reasonably priced restaurant.

Takino Suzuran Hillside Park
This is a wonderful destination at any time of year. In the winter season, entry to the park is free and includes two long slope rubber tube rides which are really fun. Near the base of the slope are facilities for kids to play (including toilets and drinks machines). In summer time, much more of the park is open, and a modest entry fee is charged. There are many areas to explore, and lots of outdoor activities such as mountain bike riding and hiking. There are many highly creative play areas for kids, as well as a restaurant. On a fine day in summer it is also a very popular BBQ area, with ash disposal facilities and trailers for hauling your gear around. Many kids play in and around to cool burbling stream on a hot day. If you're visiting by public transport, a bus from Makomanai subway station will take you there.
I want to go back here.
