#Port Arthur Historic Site Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Remarkable Cave
The name of the place is perhaps a slight overstatement when it comes to the cave itself. Still, it's worth the 10 minute drive here if you're already visiting Port Arthur for the coastal views around the site, and there are some great walks in the area if you have an hour or two to spare.

Port Arthur Historic Site
Could have easily spent a second day at the Port Arthur Historic Site. There's so much to see and learn. The whole place is beautiful, open, and absolutely sprawling (which is not something I ever expected to say about a prison!).

Port Arthur Historic Site - Ghost Tour
Located 1.5 hours drive from Hobart is the Port Arthur Historic site. Initially created as a timber gathering site in the 1830’s, Port Arthur quickly became of major importance to emerging colonies in Australia due to its highly productive ship yards.
The site is large & nestled in a valley, with paths guiding your way around the site. On arrival each visitor is giving a playing card, this corresponds to a past occupant of Port Arthur & you will learn about then down stairs in the museums.
Once you have visited the museum you then head onto a 40 minute introductory tour, which shows you around the sight and gives you a deeper insight into the history of the people and the building that formed Port Arthur.
After that you proceed to the dock for your bay tour which is also included in the entry fee. This tour which goes out around one of the most important islands of the settlement is again guided.
After that you are free to roam the grounds and explore the rest of the site. There are a wide range of extra tours on offer including the “After Dark pack” which includes a 2 course meal at their on-site restaurant and a 90 minute ghost tour. The food was incredible and we had an extremely knowledgeable guide who made the experience very enjoyable.

Port Arther Historical Site UNESCO 🇦🇺
#australiatrip
Port Arthur, the prison at the end of the world in Port Arthur, Tasmania, is a historical site located in the southeastern part of Tasmania, Australia 🇦🇺. It is famous for being a place of exile during the 19th century British colonial period. This place was initially established in the 1830s as a place to punish prisoners, especially those considered to have a high recidivism rate. The establishment of Port Arthur was based on the popular concept of punishment at that time, which was to transform prisoners through harsh environments and physical labor ⛓️.
Arthur Harbour, as one of Australia's most famous historical sites, attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is listed as a World Heritage Site not only because it showcases the history of the 19th-century prisoner system, but also because it reveals the complexity of early Australian society and culture 🏛️.
Port Arthur is not only a prison complex but also includes hospitals, madhouses, churches, and schools, as well as residential areas for prisoners and the military. The prisoners here were used for arduous physical labor such as logging, construction, and shipbuilding, which played an important role in the development of Tasmania at that time 🔨.

More than 100 years ago, Port Arthur in the era of the British Empire was a prison port that the bad guys were stunned. Today it is a tourist attraction. Almost every visitor to Tasmania will visit Port Arthur. Australians are very serious about their past. They have transformed the former prisoners into museums for people to visit, the largest of which is Port Arthur in Tasmania.
Port Arthur is located at the southeastern tip of Tasmania. It can also be said to be the southernmost tip of Tasmania. When you open the prison port, the coast is beautiful, and there are many ways to get to Port Arthur. The superb scenery of the bay beach, the popularity of the place is also the highest among the entire Tasmanian attractions, from time to time will see a lot of gathered RVs, resorts and so on.
Many people compare this place to the end of the sky. I am far-sighted, but unfortunately I can't see anything other than the sea. If I can see it, it is estimated to be the South Pole.
1830 years ago, Port Arthur was just a lumberjack. By 1830, the government decided to open the entire port of Arthur into a prison for male prisoners. The criminals who were sent in, not every one was guilty of a great crime. For example, a boy named Thomas was sentenced to seven years in prison for robbing his wallet. Later he committed a crime in prison and was eventually imprisoned for 27 years and died in prison. In prison. A similar case was apparent until the prison was closed in 1877, where more than 13,000 criminals were imprisoned.

From Hobart to Port Arthur for about two hours,
Australia's magnificent colonial history picture, Port Arthur is a strong color. This is an old prison and a complete community. The human purgatory under the treacherous times of the two hundred years ago is now a tourist attraction. Standing on the lawn where the perpetrators sweated and filled the sea, listening to the lecturer's eyebrows and dancing, depicting the hardships of the past, looking up at the sun, the sea and the sky in the distance, pedestrians drunk. Thinking of it is the worst era, it will cherish every "best time" of the moment.
[Tickets: 35 knives, covering 40 minutes of introductory walking tours and 20 minutes of sailing trips]
Among the various historical and dramatic details, we will not destroy everyone's imagination and expectation. Listen to the tour guides as visitors travel.
The picture says that the cell is restored~
The most impressive thing is the isolation prison. As the name implies, the prisoners are isolated. This extreme mental torture, according to legend, the severe physical punishment of the prisoners can come over. I am unable to accept the isolation prison. The prisoner was trapped in a small black room, reaching out to five fingers, no sunshine, no companion exchanges, day and night in a closed black house.

When I arrived at Port Arthur, I also changed my dreams. The biggest attraction of Port Arthur is the prison site. This is a small town with a long history. It was once a rehearsal of exile. Gloomy, sturdy, dark, this is the first impression most people have on prisons, but Port Arthur Historic Sites tells the history and shows the nature of Port Arthur. The scenery is beautiful. Looking over the sky from the sky, I felt a bit beautiful.
Right, there is also the famous Three Capes hiking route. It takes about 3 days to complete the walk. The foreigner likes to walk on foot. I can't walk. Impressions Port Arthur's historic site tickets are AUD 20, which is one of the few places in Tasmania where Chinese babies are introduced. Perhaps the Australian people are more concerned about history and culture.
The most well-known existence of the entire historical port of Port Arthur belongs to this former prison office. In fact, I originally tried to take a night scene of a ghostly photo. I didnt expect a ghost tour at night. It was cleared at 7 o'clock... sorry to miss it.

Port Arthur is a small town in Tasmania, Australia, but it is an extraordinary significance of the prison ruins built by the felons of the first Commonwealth countries, such as a small city. It is part of the Australian epic. The beauty is also praised by people.
This place is also known as the most beautiful ghost place in Australia. Some passengers say that they have photographed ghosts in the wooden house. The chair will shake themselves. At night, there are often strange sounds coming from ancient houses. . The scenic spot simply does the haunted business, and every night there is a place where ghosts bring tourists to experience the most ghosts.
