📍National Gallery Singapore
Stopped by at National Gallery Singapore as we were passing by that area. It is located close to the city centre, Merlion Park is just a stone’s away and you get the view of Marina Bay Sands from the national gallery as well. The building is beautiful and the whole place is very artsy! They have both permanent and limited time only exhibitions, which is lovely. Did not have the time to explore the whole gallery, as they have 6 floors, we just stopped by and take a few photos. The entire place is huge, very instagrammable and quiet, could easily spend 3-4 hours here. The ticket is sgd 20 for tourists but it is free for locals and permanent residents. Would love to revisit this place in the future!
I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!
Although Singapore 🇸🇬 is small in size, there are many places worth checking in.
If you plan to travel to Singapore during the Spring Festival ✈️
Then this photo 📸 check-in guide must be collected‼️
·
Here are the 9️⃣ photo spots I summarized in Singapore.
They are all very out of the picture, I hope it will be a reference for those who have not checked in.
·
Changi Airport
I guess many people know this, Changi Waterfall photo 🖼️, it is recommended to go to the high floor, change angles and positions, you will definitely be able to take a satisfactory travel blockbuster.
·
Gardens by the Bay
It is a new landmark in Singapore and a place where many internet celebrities check in. The towering sunny trees 🌲, the huge indoor waterfall, coupled with the light show at night, is like entering the Pandora planet.
·
Little India
The most famous here is the Rainbow House, the colorful wall spray, the colorful little elephant sculpture 🗿, it's easy to take a good shot just by sweeping the street.
·
Praise Square
I guess many people know this too, especially at dusk, it's super atmospheric, not far away is the Raffles Hotel, after taking a photo, you can also have a drink at the Long bar🍧.
·
Old Xi Street Police Station
It is located near Fok Ning Park, and the two places can be arranged together. The rainbow-like building is actually a police station, and the colorful windows on the outside are really out of the picture.
·
National Art Museum
I saw it on TV when I was a child, and now I finally see it. The building itself is very artistic, and the best position 📷 is on the bridge connecting the two sides.
·
Merlion
How can you not go to the Merlion when you come to Singapore, if you take a photo, the light will be darker at night, everyone must remember to turn on the flash 💥, fill light and so on.
·
Chinatown
A place full of Chinese elements, but at the same time multicultural coexistence, the millennium style of the red temple ✨ and the retro style of the fireworks street are super suitable for taking pictures.
·
Rochor Road
If you are looking for a place with few people and beautiful scenery, then I recommend you to go to Rochor Road, a typical Nanyang style small street, very suitable for a person to walk around, very petty bourgeoisie and very out of the picture.
·
Okay, sharing is over! If there are better positions 📸, welcome to tell me in the comment area!

No. 1 Visual Arts Festival in Singapore
Light to Night Festival is an annual event in Singapore that showcases art and exhibitions from varied disciplines of art including interactive programs and installations. A favorite showcase that I always look forward to is the light projections or illuminations scattered across the civic district. Since the festival is organised by the National Gallery Singapore, the gallery usually offers free entry on weekends with extended opening hours.
We went on a Wednesday night to avoid the weekend crowd. Our first agenda was to sit at the Padang and watch the illumination on the National Gallery itself. We spent a bit of time here since we didn't get to watch the start. Lots of people also bring their mats to chill around here. Every time I watch this, I get reminded of how I would want to have this festival back in my home country also. We then went to the “bubbles” installation and took way too many photos there. The installation worked well with Marina Bay Sands and National Gallery as its backdrops in photos. Another projection we always enjoy is at the Victoria Building since the façade shape is different than usual because of the tower in the middle.
This is one of the festivals I'm always looking forward. Expect me to be there again next year. When going there though, consider going on weekdays as there’s fewer people going around. Also wayfinding won’t be difficult since there are staff usually giving out maps and brochures.

Arts in Singapore 🎨
The National Gallery is always a place I look forward to visiting. From being an art student in secondary school to eventually studying design in university, I find myself visiting the National Gallery in different stages of my life and constantly learning new things from the different exhibitions.
I love visiting the National Gallery and I view it as a little step or effort Singapore is making to bring the arts into the lives of locals and encouraging a more creative and artsy nation as a whole. It's all the more encouraging for a designer like me.
Beyond designers, visiting the National Gallery can surely spark your creativity no matter your job and hobbies. The exhibitions there will be sure to leave you inspired and with a lot of beautiful photos in your gallery.

Early Video Installation of Southeast Asia
Video technology has long played an important role in modern art. But how did this medium arise and develop within Southeast Asia? To find out, take a trip to this exhibition at the National Gallery Singapore. The first part will run until Sep 17, while the second part is from Oct 13 to Feb 4.
In this exhibition, you'll experience the emergence of video installations in the 80s and 90s and learn about the state of video technology at that time. The two parts of the exhibition will display works from a range of different artists.

The gallery is housed within two iconic national monuments, the former Supreme Court and City Hall, which served as critical institutions during Singapore's colonial and post-independence eras. By repurposing these historic buildings, the gallery symbolizes the seamless blend of tradition and modernity, paying homage to Singapore's past while embracing its future.
The National Gallery Singapore takes pride in its extensive collection of Southeast Asian art, spanning over 8,000 artworks from the 19th century to the present day. This the National Gallery Museum of Singapore, a five minutes walk from City Hall MRT station. At the top floor, there is an escalator up to the open rooftop where you can enjoy the spectacular view of the iconic Singapore buildings. You can see the Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore arts science museum. It is a perfect place to take an OOTD with a view. I went there on a weekend and there was only a small crowd seen.

Beautiful architecture in Singapore
#singapore
This is the National Gallery Singapore situated in the heart of Singapore, near City Hall MRT station. It holds different art exhibitions all year round. I would say that the interior design of this building is an art itself. With the glass ceiling and many beautiful big windows, made the museum a lot brighter and stunning. There are also seats for you to relax and chill with your family or friends. Since Singapore is hot, it’s nice to enjoy the cooling aircon.

A Walk From National Gallery Singapore To CBD
I love walking from places to places in Singapore, while visiting attractions and it is doable here because attractions are in proximity to each other. I take my walks as a form of exercise and take in the pretty sights and sounds of Singapore.
My recent walk started from national gallery Singapore and I love the exterior architectural design of the building. Right outside national gallery Singapore, lies the Padang where the National day parade was once held and you could also see the famous Marina Bay Sands just across the padang. Walk further down, and you will reach boat quay. You could see the colourful well preserved shop houses facing the Singapore River. Near there, you could also see the paying tribute statue of indian prime minister Jawaharlal nehru and the iconic Cavenagh Bridge which played an important role in Singapore's history. Once you cross this bridge, the singapore's bustling Central business district is a stone's throw away. This walk is a visual treat and a good way of learning Singapore's history, you could try it too.

Light to Night 2023
Light to Night 2023 came back bigger than before (the pandemic) 😂. Various street performances are back and even the festive village that sells food! These were the highlights that went away during the pandemic.
For those who have never heard of the festival, it is a yearly festival around the civic art district with illuminated projections and special art works around. A really fun and free event to soak in the moonlight.

Light to night festival 2023
Light to night festival, organised by National Gallery of Singapore, is ongoing now till 26 Jan. It showcases art works from physical exhibits to large projections at the civic district. The places involved includes the Asian Civilization Museum, National Gallery, The Art house, Victoria Theatre and Funan basement underpass.
Other activities that are available includes hands on activities such as making reminder bracelet, colouring using natural dyes and scavenger hunt for those people who likes to get their hands and brains moving. By completing the scavenger hunt, you stand to win prizes such as the festival related tote bag, tissue pack, stickers and postcards. There are also live performances at the national gallery atrium so do find up more of the schedule in the official website.
If time permits, you can also visit the various exhibits in the various galleries as the opening hours will be extended in conjunction with this event. Its definitely a refreshing experience for me as its my first time exploring the various galleries so do take this opportunity to do so.
There's food stalls and an art bazaar ongoing as well near the Victoria Theatre and outside the national gallery.

National Gallery Children's Biennale
A child's mind is boundless and one that filled with endless imaginations. As a mother, I always challenge my kids to think of the box and to see things in a different light or angle, that is why I chose to expose them early to arts.
The Children's biennale is ongoing at the National Gallery Singapore and it is an arts program dedicated to kids. Worried about admission cost? Well, Fret not because parents great news, it is free to enter and free to play and look at the exhibits. There were some pretty interesting exhibits that my kids enjoyed very much, like a zone made entirely of recycled cardboard, and a magnetic board which you can stick and move magnetic art pieces.
There are many other awesome art areas as well, so be sure to be at the children's biennale and have a great time.
