On April 1, 1941 (the 30th year of the Republic of China), Yongning County was established. On September 23, 1949 (the 37th year of the Republic of China), Yongning was liberated. Yongning County is close to the Yellow River to the east and leans against Helan Mountain to the west. The transportation is convenient. The Yinxihigh-speed railway, expressway, National Highway 109, Beijing-Tibet Expressway, etc. run through the north, south, east, and west. The Yellow River Bridge has been built and opened to traffic. The Najiahu Mosque, Ming Great Wall, Li Jun Tower and other historical sites within the territory are key cultural relics protection units of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It has successively won titles such as National Garden County, China's Top Ten Quality Leisure Counties and Cities, the second batch of water-saving society construction standard counties (districts), and the list of national health towns (county towns).
