It’s a good idea to stop here to find out where the annual National Day dedication takes place annually. Dome views can be seen from colonial Sultan Abdul Sand with views of the newly built 118 Merkida skyscraper at the back – a tall building that stands out. In the add-on, you can view the site where you played cricket - Royal Selangor
Merdica Square is a large colonial square in Kuala Lumpur. I assume that another time of the year, it should be very beautiful, but the day we went, all the grass and plants were dry. They were also doing construction work in some nearby buildings.
Merdica Square used to be the main area for all offices and government. Tourist center, ancient museums with historical sculptures and drawings, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, large square with huge flag. A few minutes walk leads to the River of Life and Jamek Mosque. Don't forget to take a photo near I ❤️ KL.
A historical field with many landmarks surrounding it. Just here to stop the photos so that no one on a tour actually tells me the historical value of this place#kualalumpur

Merdea Square
Merdeka Square is a historical site where Malaya declared its independence. If you are a fan of the Malayan history, you can come here and take some pictures. There are many attractions nearby the Merdeka Square. For shoppers, you can come over to Central Market Kuala Lumpur to buy some local souvenirs and food and at the same time learn about the different cultures of the society that makes up Malaysia. I highly recommend not only tourist to visit, but for locals too.

One of the Iconic Landmarks of KL
#kualalumpur
Merdeka Square or Dataran Merdeka is undoubtedly KL’s best known historical landmark, located in Jalan Raja, City Center of Kuala Lumpur. Formerly known as The Royal Selangor Club's Padang(field). This is the historical place where the Malaysian flag raised for the very first time at midnight on 31st, August 1957. Since then, Merdeka Square has been the usual venue for the annual National Day Parade. At the southern end of the square, there is a 95 meter flagpole proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag), it's one of the tallest in the world.
The Sultan Abdul Samad Building was built in late 19th century. This iconic Indo-Saracenic & Neo-Mughal architectural style building was originally housed the offices of the British colonial administration in Malaya. Today, this historical building houses the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia.

Malaysia 🔆 Super detailed 9-day-8-night 6k per person free trip to three cities 🔆
✅3/31-4/3 Kuala Lumpur visited Jalan Alor, Chinatown, Jamek Mosque, City Gallery, Merdeka Square, and two bustling local night markets!
✅4/3-4/4 Malacca The attractions in Malacca are very concentrated! Visit the Pink Mosque (wear a robe because shorts are not allowed), where free robe rentals are available at the entrance. Jonker Street and St. Paul's Church are must-visit places!
✅4/4-4/5 Bukit Tinggi. Because I have to fly to Kota Kinabalu from Kuala Lumpur on 4.5, I went to Bukit Tinggi on 4.4 from Malacca, which is very close to the airport.
✅4/5-4/8 Kota Kinabalu went to the sea and visited the Enchanting Island, which was breathtakingly beautiful! We also went to Tanjung Aru Beach (said to be one of the three most beautiful sunsets in the world), Sabah University, Gaya Street Market, and the local night market! The monkeys at Sabah University were huge, and we rented a scooter for three hours but still didn't finish exploring. Sisters, please note that if you don't return the scooter by 5 o'clock, they will charge you!
[3/31-4/3 Kuala Lumpur]📍

Near KLCC, there is a rooftop infinity pool! Just a few steps away from the Twin Towers! (Personally, I think this hotel offers great value for money! The bed is very comfortable.) Malaysian hotel registration requires MYR10/night.
[Food]🍜There's a noodle shop: the taste of rice noodles is good! The pulled tea is super delicious!
🍜Zhongnanji Bak Kut Teh: The soup base is rich in herbal flavor! There is no menu, the boss will ask how many people and help you with the combination!
🍜Ate a lot of delicious food at the night market! Durian fritters! Unnamed mixed noodles! Satay skewers! All tasted super good!
[4/3-4/4 Malacca]📍
[Accommodation]🏨 Moty Hotel
The front desk service attitude is super friendly, the hotel room is very large, but slightly old, bonus points for having a bathtub!
[Food]🍜Nonya Peranakan Place: Delicious Nonya cuisine! Highly recommended! Laksa and Nasi Ulam are really tasty!
🍜Geographer's Cafe: A hot spot for summer scenes with "Momo Tea". The overall atmosphere is very chill! They serve coffee, alcoholic beverages, and meals! [4/4-4/5 Buc City]📍
[Accommodation]🏨Cbyberview Resort Spa
A vacation hotel that costs around 300, with great value for money! There are beautiful gardens and swimming pools outside, as well as various entertainment facilities such as hot springs!
[4/5-4/8 Kota Kinabalu]📍

There is a large window where you can see the sunset over the mountains, which is very beautiful!

Night walk at Merdeka Square
One of the iconic history site in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur, Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) is a location that usually took place for Indepence Day of Malaysia on 31st August.
It is a great spot to lepak with friends, enjoying the view of historic building Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, the field, KL Tower, and Petronas.
Usually, the road was closed- but I’m not sure for what reason. Oh and yeah, at night, a quick stroll around the area is a whole vibe. Most people rented out scooters to ride around, and there’s food trucks so you can enjoy snacking or sip on drinks.
Behind the Sultan Abdul Samad building, there’s path ways and you can see River of Life KL. A new landscape for the area as it is nearby to Masjid Jamek also.
Back in 2018 or 2019, an art festival Urbanscapes took place there and it has changed my view towards Malaysia Tanah Airku. There’s so much more than just a plain city, the essence of the history that makes Malaysia special at heart.
Here’s some part of Merdeka Square I managed to snap!

Merdeka Square Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Very nice place to visit and you can enjoy the nice surrounding building with the big flag of Malaysia.
The surrounding is very clean with a big field. You can just park your car at the roadside for a short. If you are not driving, I would suggest that you take the LRT to Masjid Jamek and walk about 15 minutes to reach the destination.
Walk past the old era buildings and the beautiful Sultan Abdul Samad building. Gaze upon the tallest flagpole. Don't miss the Victorian era fountain near the flagpole. From near the flagpole, you get a view of the famous KL skyline having the Twin Towers, KL tower and the new Merdeka 118. For foreigner, make sure that you are not alone. Although the place is seem to be safe, but it’s better to be accompany by your friend during the night time
