Loch Ness - Scotland, UK
Loch Ness, the legendary freshwater lake that you will mentioned when someone talks about Scotland. Located near to Inverness, it is known worldwide for the mystical creature - Loch Ness Monster (or known as Nessie). But beyond the folklore, Loch Ness offers breathtaking natural beauty & a captivating history.
Loch Ness stretches approximately 23 miles long & reaching a whooping 700 feet depth, bringing it to be the second largest Scottish loch by surface area. The surrounding landscape features rugged mountains, rolling hills & dense forest, while the deep, dark waters of the loch add an air mystery & intrigue to the experience.
The main attraction of Loch Ness would undoubtedly be the legend - Loch Ness Monster, but over the years there isn’t any scientific or actual sighting of the creature.
In summary, Loch Ness is not only a place shrouded in myth & legend, but also a stunning natural wonder for you to admire the scenic beauty & historical treasures nearby. I’m sure you will enjoy your time here, and better keep an eye out for Loch Ness Monster when you’re there!
You can reach Loch Ness by car, bus, train or by joining day tours. It’s approximately 13 miles from Inverness & there are regular bus services from Inverness too!

The Scottish highlands 🏔️
#celebratewithtrip
These are my *MUST SEE* spots in the Scottish highlands
Starting with the three sisters of Glencoe:
The view alone is absolutely worth going there!
We walked trough the area for over 3 hours and it was the most amazing thing!
Fort William:
It’s very close to the three sisters, so it definitely makes sense to go there afterwards. We stopped there for a little snack and coffee break and we discovered a great little café called the wildcat. Definitely a must go to cafe!!
The Isle of Sky:
You should consider checking out this island for at least 2-3 days! There are so many great mountains to climb and the view from up there can’t be described in words!!
Isle of Arran:
Very small Island, but so worth it!! I’ll definitely come back there!!
Loch Ness and Inverness:
Inverness is a must Stop for all Outlander Fans! and for all mystery fans - check out if you can spot Nessi!
We went there by bus, but I’d definitely recommend renting a car for this whole trip, because you can see a lot more and are free to stop when- and wherever you want!
bonus tip: stop at the Harry Potter bridge and watch the train pass by!

When I was looking for dinner, I walked along the street to the lake
although the weather was cold and drizzling at night, I couldnt stop the night view of the lakeside
a quarter of an hour and fell in love with this place
Later, I discovered that this is the legendary "water monster" of Loch Ness
I heard that when the luck is good, you can see the dolphins jump out of the water on the lake
Loch Ness has a beautiful scenery of highland and more because of "water monsters" It is famous for its rumors that it is hidden in the dark lake of Loch Ness
Loch Ness Lake is 39 km wide and 2.4 km wide. The depth of the lake is not deep. It is said that the average depth is more than 200 m
the deepest point is more than 300 meters. Can drown a 40-story building in the cold climate of the Scottish Highlands but can not freeze all year round

Mesmerizing Loch Ness
Getting There - Northern Ireland is connected to all major cities in the UK by Scot rails and airways. We took the Scot rails from Liverpool to Glasgow to experience the beautiful landscape, and a day tour bus ride to Loch Ness. Such a thrilling experience!
Attractions - Just take a ride around the highlands. There’s not one point you feel is unattractive!
Hotels - We preferred to stay in Glasgow and take a day tour by bus. That’s much more convenient.
Food & Restaurants - Better get some food before you begin from Glasgow or Edinburg.
Shopping - There are a few souvenir shops around Loch Ness but quite expensive. You can give it a try though!

🔸The best time to travel on the NC500 is in spring and summer when the temperature is higher and the road conditions are better. However, there are often strong winds on the coast of the highlands throughout the year, so it is recommended to bring well-fitting outdoor clothing such as raincoats and windbreakers. 🧥
Autumn and winter seasons: more rain, unsafe driving after snowfall!
🔸Checking the vehicle before departure is also essential!
🔸Carry common emergency equipment: emergency power supply, fire extinguisher 🧯, spare tire.
The fascinating scenery created by the huge altitude drop, especially the towering peaks on both sides of the road, standing like two gates. ⛰ Don't miss it if you like self-driving travel~
