The spring in Dali captivates me time and again
The city of Dali gives me the feeling of one word: 'slow'! You can enjoy life leisurely here, relax, and stroll through this city known for its 'wind-flower-snow-moon' beauty. The spring 🌱 in Dali is healing and romantic!
✈️Transportation: Dali has both an airport and a high-speed train 🚄, so you can choose your mode of travel according to your needs.
🍲Cuisine: How can you not try the wild mushroom hotpot 🥘 when in Dali? Start with a bowl of mushroom soup, it's so delicious that I ended up having three bowls. The smoked rib hotpot is also a specialty! The smoked ribs paired with the vegetables in the pot 🥗 are not too dry or salty, the meat is juicy, and the vegetables have a light sweet taste that's fresh and delicious. You can also try Erkuai, Yunnan rice noodles 🍜, Shui Xian Yang Hua (a type of vegetable), stone-grilled dishes, and Rushan cheese...
Sightseeing: If you can only go to one place in Dali, it must be Erhai Lake, where the journey is filled with beautiful scenery! It's quite nice to sunbathe 🌞, drink coffee ☕️, and browse the market in the ancient city of Dali. There's a market where you can buy lots of cheap, fresh fruit 🍉. Pausing in S Bay of Piaoxi Village by Erhai Lake, you can listen to the crisp calls of seagulls and feel them gliding over the clear waters. There's also a vast field of wheat 🌾, where every snapshot is picturesque. Xizhou Ancient Town is a tranquil and delicate millennium-old town, which is not very big and can be thoroughly explored in about three hours.

11 Things You Need to Know Before Going to the Famous S Bay at Erhai Lake!
Before going to Dali, I didn't know much about the famous S Bay. After looking at some photos, I found it truly beautiful, but I also saw many comments like this: There are many S-shaped bays in Erhai Lake, and it's not necessary to go to this particular one. However, after flipping through a lot of travel content about Dali, there are indeed many winding roads, but not many can replace the S Bay of Panxi Village. In the end, we decided to go and stayed for two days.
Here's a summary based on our personal experience:
🌟If you care about the following two points, you might not want to go:
1️⃣ Distance: S Bay is about 8 kilometers from Dali Ancient Town, which is a bit farther compared to Caicun Pier and Longkan Pier.
2️⃣ Commercialization: The commercial development in Panxi Village is relatively less compared to Longkan and Caicun. It might not be as lively at night, but there's no shortage of coffee, milk tea, restaurants, and accommodations.
🌟Okay, if you're sure you want to go, then the following advantages are also yours to enjoy:
1️⃣ Panxi Village has many bays, and each bend can produce very beautiful photos.
2️⃣ The Erhai Lake here is closer to the Cangshan Mountains. Whether on the rooftop of a guesthouse or on the road to Erhai Lake, a glance back reveals the majestic Cangshan silently watching over you. When the clouds disperse, the shock of the snowy mountain peaks is breathtaking.
3️⃣ Avoiding the popular bends, there are few people here, and there are large areas of Bai ethnic dwellings between Cangshan and Erhai Lake, which are very photogenic from the air.
4️⃣ In addition to a large number of seagulls, there are also some trees growing in the water, which are very photogenic.
5️⃣ Less light pollution, making it more suitable for stargazing at night.
6️⃣ Closer to Xizhou Ancient Town and the covered bridges compared to the Ancient Town.
🌟Who is suitable for staying in Panxi Village:
If you're in a hurry and just want to have a quick look, Panxi Village might not be very suitable. If you have the following needs, you should definitely stay here:
1️⃣ If you want to capture the loneliness of an uninhabited S Bay, whether after sunset or at sunrise, there are few people here. Moreover, in winter, the sunrise in Dali is after 8 am, so even those who have trouble getting up early don't need to worry. The Erhai Lake View Hotel where we stayed is right on the largest S Bay in Panxi Village.
2️⃣ If you want to watch the Erhai Lake sunrise up close without leaving your accommodation. Compared to Longkan Pier and Caicun, some guesthouses here are directly on the ecological corridor, which is very convenient. You can enjoy the sunrise beauty from the room, rooftop, or the entrance of the guesthouse.
3️⃣ If you want to stargaze. The light pollution here is relatively the least among several places in Hexi, and the starry sky is very beautiful.
🏨Accommodation Strategy:
There are many guesthouses by Erhai Lake here. The Erhai Lake View Hotel we stayed at is right on the ecological corridor, so you don't have to carry your luggage far, and the service and facilities are thoughtful. You can watch the Erhai Lake sunrise while lying in bed. Of course, there are also other sea view guesthouses that you can choose from. If you don't necessarily want to watch the sunrise from your room, there are also accommodations inside Panxi Village, which are cheaper.
🍗Food Strategy:
Dali's cuisine is mainly characterized by Bai ethnic features. We ate at a place recommended by the hotel owner, where two people had four dishes for an average of 60 yuan per person. Coffee here is quite expensive, with Americano at 28 yuan and latte at 38 yuan, but there's a Mixue Bingcheng, which is the same price as outside.
That's all for now, I'll post more if I think of anything else.

Banxi Village by the Erhai Lake in Dali—a super beautiful check-in spot for internet celebrities!
Banxi Village in Yunnan Province belongs to Yin Bridge Town of Dali City, located 2 kilometers from the town government. The road to the village is a cement road, making transportation convenient, and it's only 8 kilometers away from the city!
There is a beautiful village by the Erhai Lake in Dali, Yunnan—Banxi Village!
The land nurtures its people, and stone walls are a treasure of Dali. The diligent and wise Bai people have taken stones washed down from the Cangshan Mountains, fished them out of the stream, not only clearing the river channels, allowing the stream to flow unobstructed into the Erhai Lake, but also using them to build walls and houses!
The Bai people's residences, with their blue tiles and stone walls, together with the wheat waves in May and the rice fragrance in October, become a stunning scenery at the foot of the Cangshan Mountains by the Erhai Lake in Banxi Village!
Banxi Village, the story of stones is worth being told and reminisced by generations. A place with stories and sentiments is where homesickness lies; and where there is homesickness, there is a place that people yearn for!

Erhai Lake in winter
Two years ago in the summer, I had visited the world-famous Erhai Lake, and this winter, returning to the same place, I found myself deeply moved.
Erhai Lake is still that beautiful place, even in winter, it boasts stunning scenery. Migratory birds from the north do not fly away because of the tourists; instead, they gather more on the shore, waiting to be fed by people.
The most popular check-in spot is undoubtedly S Bay, located in Panxi Village, Dali City. This place has an unbeatable view. Find a homestay facing Erhai Lake here, stand on the terrace, and you can enjoy the entire lake, which is simply intoxicating.
🌍 Address: Panxi Village, Erhai Lake, Dali
🚗 Transportation: Self-driving recommended
⛱️ Surroundings: Dali Ancient Town
💰 Expenses: Prices are quite reasonable
🏠 Accommodation: Local homestays recommended

【Dressing Guide】
🍃The wind is really as strong as its reputation in windy places, and you must wear a jacket in the morning and evening, otherwise you will shiver by the Erhai Lake. Also, note that indoor heating is generally not available in Dali, and ordinary hotels do not have air conditioning.
🌿In spring and summer, you can wear skirts and shirts. However, there are occasional showers, so remember to bring rain gear.
☀️Autumn and winter are mostly sunny, and you can wear skirts and thin knits under the big sun, but you need to wear down jackets and coats in the morning and evening when the wind is strong. Hats and scarves are essential to add color to your outfit.
🧳: ITO
💧Dali's weather is very dry, and the ultraviolet rays are strong, remember to bring hydrating and moisturizing skincare products, masks, and sunscreen, otherwise, you will get dry and sunburned skin. Friends with rhinitis should remember to bring medicine and a humidifier

The four-room courtyard homestay in Dali can be rented as a whole
Every angle is incredibly beautiful!
There is a 60-year-old pomegranate tree in the courtyard, and the light and shadow from every angle are very beautiful. Living in such a courtyard, you won't want to go out all day.
Can be rented individually or as a whole.
The location is in Panxi Village, about 500 meters from Erhai Lake.

Dali seagull said today about the popular place on the internet
🎈This time, let's talk about the popular S Bay Erhai Ecological Corridor in Dali
🎉Yesterday we talked about the eastern seagull viewing area, today let's take a look at the western area. S Bay is currently the best place to watch seagulls this season. From its construction, there was nothing fun to now it has begun to prosper, it really changes every day. In addition to taking photos at popular internet check-in spots, I strongly recommend eating, staying, and playing today!
❣️First is eating: not far from the first-line plank road, there is a popular restaurant_De Hong flavor Dao Dao's (Erbin Restaurant), Southeast Asian flavor, even if there is a large free parking lot, you have to go early to reserve a spot, otherwise there will be no parking or dining spots.
❣️Play: Dali Zhao Huan Art Studio, don't worry about whether you have a painting foundation, there are teachers to guide, in such a beautiful scenery, whatever you paint is equally beautiful. Next to Zhao Huan, there is a handmade shop where children can make all kinds of crafts at a reasonable price.
❣️❣️❣️Stay: This is what I must recommend three times❗Erwo Homestay (search for this name on third-party APPs), the only first-line sea view homestay in S Bay, only has three rooms, you usually don't know it can accommodate, just think it's a coffee shop. But why is it the only one, you don't actually need to know. If you want to stay on the first line, her house is the only choice, and the room configuration and bathroom are very high-end. The boss and the boss's wife are super nice, because we are northerners, the children don't eat spicy food, the boss's wife takes care of our three meals and makes double portions for each dish, one spicy and one not spicy (we are the only guests) , treat us sincerely, in the end because of the child became good friends, can be said to be the first local friend I met after living in Yunnan. Treat each other sincerely, very sincere.
❣️Travel: Still the same sentence, Dali is suitable for self-driving tours, my car is parked in the free large parking lot behind Dao Dao's.
💝At first, I thought the popular S Bay was the most boring place, I really don't like riding a bike to check in and take photos. But now it is a must-go place for me in Dali, stay quietly for a few days, drink coffee and watch seagulls, paint a picture against the beautiful scenery, as if the world has stopped, healing series No.1.

Erhai Lake in Dali
The internet-famous check-in spot 'S Bend' in Dali's Erhai Lake is located on the west ring sea line of Panxi Village. It is commonly known as 'S Bend' because there is an S-shaped bend along the Erhai Lake Road. At the edge of the 'S Bend' of Erhai Lake, you can feed seagulls, take photos on the wooden plank road, and there are cafes next to the road for tourists to relax, as well as ethnic minority costume rentals. If you want to rent a bicycle and ride along the 'S Bend', it is also very convenient.
