Colorful Coloane - Macau's Southern Delight
Macau has an easily overlooked southern gem - Coloane Island.
🍃 Escape the crowds and arrive early at the quaint fishing village to enjoy a peaceful coastal experience and indulge in the famous egg tart from Lord Stow's Bakery without the long queues.
🏠 The vibrant colored houses are reminiscent of Wes Anderson's signature palette.
💜 Take a leisurely stroll with friends along the seaside, it's truly a delightful experience as if stepping into Hayao Miyazaki's anime.
Historical places coloane
#mytripvlog #macautravel #macaulifestyle #macautrip Coloane was separated from Taipa by the Seac Pai Bay, which was crossed by a 2.2 kilometres (1.4 mi) causeway, the Estrada do Istmo, connecting Coloane to Taipa. However land reclamation has[when?] physically connected the two islands and a new area for development called Cotai has been built between Taipa and Coloane, which is home to the Cotai Strip and several other casino projects.
Macau's seaside path leading to a hidden paradise is so pleasant 🌳 Attached with a map.
The road from Coloane to Cheoc Van Swimming Pool is almost deserted.
Stay away from the crowds, beautiful scenery 🍃
We walked along the seaside for nearly 20 minutes, just the two of us.
Arrive at this tree hole 🌳 that leads to the beach.
On this journey, there will be large areas of 🪦.
It is recommended taking the 🚌 bus directly to Zhawan Swimming Pool ⬇️.
It takes about 8 minutes to walk to the location of the tree hole.
In Figure 9, there is a route map that can be referred to.
·
Near the tree hole should be the place where the 🐕 dogs usually play.
Be careful of their movements and the poop on the ground when taking pictures.
·
-It takes about 20 minutes to walk from Coloane Village (near Andrew's Egg Tart) to the location of the Tree Hole.
- Walk from Zhewan Swimming Pool Bus Stop 🚏 to the location of Shudong for about 8 minutes.

2023 🇲🇴First trip dedicated to Macau, four days and three nights.
In 2023, we can fly freely again! The first stop is to go to neighboring Macau 🇲🇴.
✅Itinerary route
D1: Check in at MGM Macau - Avenida Dr. Sun Yat Sen
D2: Take a photo and check in 📸 Parisian Garden - Londoner - Coloane Island.
D3: October 5th Street - Bishop's Hill Chapel - Yiwan Slope
D4: Fisherman's Wharf - Ruins of St. Paul's - Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro
✅Clearance port
Go to Macau Peninsula: Gongbei Port and Qingmao Port. Tested personally, Gongbei has more direct shuttle buses to hotels, while Qingmao is faster but does not have shuttle buses.
✅About accommodation
This time I stayed at the MGM, an art palace, and the service and environment were really amazing!
✅About attractions
1⃣️Living in MGM allows you to see various art exhibitions and take great photos.
2️⃣️"Fisherman's Wharf", although small, can easily produce great photos.
3️⃣️Londoners, European-style architecture, super popular online check-in spot, expect long queues, not recommended to visit during holidays.
4️⃣Parisian Gardens, where you can check off the Eiffel Tower and experience French style.
5️⃣Guanye Street, the colorful houses are great for taking photos, but for food you can go elsewhere, there are just too many people here 😂.
6️⃣Dongwangyang New Street, take photos of the same style as National Geographic at the Grand Lisboa, there's not much to do here, only suitable for taking pictures and checking in.
✅About food
October 5th Street: Nanping Yaxu, Niuji Curry Cuisine, Street Desserts.
Around San Ma Lou: Century Coffee, Ming Kee Offal Cuisine, Longhua Tea House, Huan Ji Seafood Restaurant, Cai Shen Ye Seafood Stew Restaurant, Ma Qing Kang South Sky Cafe.
Heisha Huan: A Brother's Delicious Food
Taipa: Hei Lian Coffee, Eslite Coffee, Andrew's Road Central Branch, Ya Qi Garden Restaurant.
1️⃣Ma Qingkang South Heaven Cafe
Always queuing, even when there is a significant decrease in visitors during off-season, it still requires queuing!
🔥Must-try: BBQ pork with double eggs rice, crispy fried squid, scrambled egg with beef and rice noodles, Hong Kong-style milk tea.
.
2️⃣ Ze Xian Ji
Also a must-try for those who love queuing: "Portuguese egg tarts with egg waffles". The egg waffle has a super crispy outer layer, and when you bite into it, you'll taste the rich and creamy Portuguese egg tart filling! They also come in flavors like coffee, caramel, cheese, salted egg yolk, purple sweet potato, and taro paste.
.
3️⃣Jinli Restaurant
What most people recommend here are the Chicken and Shrimp with Double Sauce and the Curry Beef Brisket Rice. The curry is really fragrant and rich, and the soup base will give you a stunning feeling! Be sure to pair it with their homemade spicy sauce! Absolutely amazing!
.
4️⃣Bailemen Noodle Shop
After 5pm, the store will be closed, so if you want to eat, you have to come early! We recommend the pork chop with oil noodles and beef with noodles. The noodles are very fragrant with added pork oil, and they go well with curry sauce.
.
5️⃣ Rongji Beef Offal
Macau's beef offal is all amazing, but I have a special fondness for this one! I love their spicy sauce, and you have to add noodles to cook with it!

Alto De Coloane Park
#bucketlistreboot Alto de Coloane Park is the highest park in Macau. It is located at the top of Alto de Coloane. It was built in 1988 and covers an area of 260 square meters. Hac Sa Beach and Pacoação Hác Sá can be seem at the park. This park, high on Coloane Peak (170m), is reached by the Estrada do Alto de Coloane which begins just south of Seac Pai Van Park. The road leads first to the parking area for the newly-developed Recreational Fishing Zone, the Arboretum (which features more than 100 species of local and exotic trees), and the main access to the Coloane Hiking Trail. It continues on to the top of the Peak where there is another car park, the new Alto de Coloane picnic area, and the statue of the Goddess A-Ma. Visible from far out in the South China Sea, with a height of 19.99 metres (commemorating the year Macao once again became part of China), the statue crowns Coloane Peak. A-Ma is venerated by fishermen and sailors and therefore has always had a special significance in Macao. #tripblazers #mytripvlog

SPECIAL HALO HALO AT COLOANE
Special Halo Halo (Mix Mix) at Coloane.
Halo-halo, officially spelled haluhalo, Tagalog for "mixed," is a popular cold dessert in the Philippines made up of crushed ice, evaporated milk or coconut milk, and various ingredients including ube jam (ube halaya), sweetened kidney or garbanzo beans, coconut strips, sago, gulaman (agar), pinipig, boiled taro or soft yams in cubes, flan, slices or portions of fruit preserves and other root crop preserves. The dessert is topped with a scoop of ube or mango ice cream. It is usually prepared in a tall clear glass and served with a long spoon. Halo-halo is considered to be the unofficial national dessert of the Philippines. The term "halo-halo" translates to "mixed" in English because the dessert is meant to be mixed before being consumed. This spelling has come to describe any object or situation composed of a similar, colorful combination of ingredients.

Coloane Island, a place that most tourists ignore.
It is located at the southernmost tip of the island of Macao. It is completely different from the style of the Macao Peninsula and Taipa Island. It is a special small fishing village. The side of the road ring is indulged in the elegance of the old days and does not want to wake up. The beauty is subtle and restrained; on the one hand, it does not smear the most intense and rich colors for the old houses that have been in the old age. It is used up 99% of Macau's colors and is a fairy tale town that is unique to Macau.
[1] Brush the houses of various colors
along the seafront [October 5th Road] and walk towards the holy church of St. Francis. I haven't walked to the church yet. On the left hand side, I saw a row of houses with various colors. I can buy a few bunches of balloons and put on a small fresh dress to take pictures. The art is small and fresh~
[2 The most famous punching place in Coloane Island [San Franciscan Church]
After the road, you will see the most famous punching place in the roundabout [San Franciscan Church]. The yellow faade and the white window frame are very cute; the small one is a mini but sacred.
[Card Place 3] Small and beautiful [Route Library]
Not far from the church is a road library that is easily overlooked. The
library is on the fifth road in early October. The citrine-colored building is very eye-catching with vintage green windows and doors.
[Card Place 4] Road roundabout or poetic or romantic street name
small road ring, street and cross. Those inconspicuous alleys have poetic or romantic names, such as my favorite [beauty lane] and [lover street].
Coloane, the only area in Macau that does not have entertainment venues, a place known as the last back garden in Macau!
There is hardly any development here, and the original natural scenery is still preserved, and there is a fresh natural scene everywhere! Compared to the reinforced concrete in the main city, I prefer to come here for a walk and find some vacation feelings...
October Fifth Road
Portuguese to celebrate On October 5, 1910, the emperor was overthrown to establish the Republic, and the road was named the Fifth Road in early October. This reminds me of the April 25th bridge in Lisbon, which was also the original intention of a certain date.
Where I came here, I felt that my footsteps also slowed down...
I have to ask me where the road ring is the most fun, I cant really say it for a while, quiet and indifferent, maybe the biggest feeling!
Saint Francis Church
was built in 1928 to commemorate the Franciscans who came to Macao for mission in the 15th century. Do you feel very familiar, the last episode of the Korean drama "Palace" is the honeymoon here!
From Hong Kong to Macau, many such colored exterior walls, local residents like to express their love for life through bright colors!
Net red wall, it is such a camel!
Andrew egg tarts head office
Opposite the front of President Ennis
This egg tart shop was founded in 1989, not long, but the taste is absolutely no less than the century-old in Lisbon shop!
Transportation: Take the No. 26 bus and get off at the Road Residents Hall.
Coloane Island is about 500 meters away from the island of Macao, but here, like Macau and the two worlds, walking in the alleys is particularly quiet, colorful houses, special landmarks. From the fifth road in early October, I went to the beautiful lane again. The beautiful houses are connected together, as if they came to Sicily, Italy.
The old man who walked slowly out of the colorful room, the bicycle that occasionally passed through, the local tea restaurant that will be there in the Hong Kong drama, as if to tell us that this may be the original look of Macau.
There are several special small and fresh colored houses on this side, as well as a colorful wall, which is beautiful to shoot. The main road is only about 100 meters, and it will be completed in 5 minutes. There is also a nice name on this road: the Fifth Road in early October.
Address: about 2 km
in the south of Taipa Island, Macau:
From Zhuhai, you can take bus No. 25, about an hour's drive,
from the Parisian hotel Bus 26A ~

Note: If you take a taxi, you will have to add ten yuan to the roundabout.
:
Rainbow wall: A full-faced color-blocking wall, just on the way to the Church of St. Francis.
Franciscan Church: The cream is very gentle. It is said that the Korean drama "Palace" and the Hong Kong drama "Youlong Opera Feng" are here.
: There is a reading room inside, showing A variety of books and magazines, if you want to take a break or feel that it is too hot at noon, you can go and see.
The fifth road in October
the beginning of October is the main road facing the sea. It is an absolute childhood memory for the Cantonese. "Moonlight of the fifth day of October" is also here. By the way, Amway's TV series, also known as "Macau Street", starred by Charmaine Zhang Zhilin, especially warm, pure love, very good-looking, super earning tears! ! Oo
The road is small enough to walk for only 20 minutes, but it is concentrated in 90% of the colors of Macau.
Each household will brush the house into their favorite color. A kind of color waiting for myself h
a year's expression and pose are contributed here ~
near the end of the year is not as good as a warm Christmas
In the violent Macao, when you stroll to Coloane Island, you can catch up with the colorful houses in the sunset
sea breeze and feel like the Shijiao in Hong Kong. Sitting on the stone steps to blow, look at the opposite port, the boat in the back light is busy shuttle
mottled daylight on the color wall, saturation UP + + +, even the street signs on the color house have become so beautiful. The path facing the sea has a nice name, "The Fifth Road in October."
BTW~There is no need to wear heavy winter clothes, really! it is good! what! ~
Coloane Island, a Hong Kong place that is ignored by most tourists.
It is located at the southernmost tip of the island of Macao. It is completely different from the style of the Macao Peninsula and Taipa Island. It is a special small fishing village. It is used up 99% of Macau's colors and is a fairy tale town that is unique to Macau. It's a bit like Shek O in Hong Kong, but the road ring has its own characteristics. Tasteful streets, colorful houses, fresh churches and libraries are all great places to take photos with road loops!
Photo point recommendation / hc / October fifth road: the beautiful road along the coast, opposite is Zhuhai oh ~ / hc / characteristic street signs: beautiful lane, Valentine Street, Church Lane, Boat Street, etc. Good-looking / hc / color fresh house: red house, yellow house, green house, blue house and other houses / hc / Kushiro ring library: the beach is light yellow and small fresh library, sitting on the front of the stool to take pictures There are feels~
Franciscan Church: beautiful cream church, Korean drama "Palace" and Hong Kong drama "Youlong Opera Feng" location
Kushiro Ring Marina: watch the sunset, blow A lot of bubbles / hc / recommended these photo points are nearby, the range of walking is not large, all the streets are also connected, you can rest assured to take a slow shot. After you finish shooting, you can go to the nearby "Andrew Garden Coffee Shop" and eat a famous Portuguese , happy to end this street beat!
Transportation:
Recommended at the bus stop near Galaxy or Venetian in Macau, take bus 25 to the Road-Round City station. Or take a taxi to the road ring directly, then map the October 5th Road and walk for a few minutes.
All the fresh vibes of Macau are here! Come quickly while it's less crowded
To tell the truth, there are a lot of people at every spot in Macau,
especially around the hotel clusters in Cotai.
I didn't expect that 📍Coloane Pier would be so uncrowded (there are still people, but it doesn't affect taking photos), and right across is the Chimelong in Hengqin, which is quite interesting
...
🚌From the airport or Cotai, you can take bus 26 to ➡️Coloane Police Training Camp
·
Across from the bus stop, go downhill to find ➡️Hon Kee Cafe, known for its hand-beaten coffee and cart noodles, reportedly an old brand from the shipyard days
·
Then follow the path uphill and downhill to reach ➡️Coloane Pier
·
Continue walking along the seaside to get to ➡️Lord Stow's Bakery, where you can buy the famous Macau egg tarts without queuing if you take away.
💡Turn a corner, and there's another Lord Stow's near the Coloane town bus station, but the queue there is super long.
·
Walk a bit further to find ➡️Nga Tim Cafe with its internet-famous clay pot coffee; we ordered hot coffee on a very hot day, which was pre-chilled in the fridge, but it didn't taste too special
·
After that, keep walking along ➡️the seaside, and you'll be able to check in at the colorful and refreshing buildings, with surprises in every alley.
Behind the hustle and bustle of Macau, one can also find the unique tranquility of historic villages
Every time I visit Macau, I make sure to stop by the "Luhuan City Center" in Macau. Although the traffic sign here indeed reads "Luhuan City Center", you'll realize upon arrival that this place is not at all like an urban area. It has nothing to do with the city; it's just a small village composed of several residential hamlets.
You can get here by taking a bus to Macau Cotai City. Alongside the Modaomen Waterway, there is a road called "October 5th Avenue", which is considered the longest road in the city center. Although the road itself has some historical significance, it's the small alleys behind the residential buildings that are truly meaningful. The houses here may be old, but the narrow roads are very clean and fresh. Local residents place some lovely small potted plants outside their doors, which doesn't make the place feel oppressive.
When we arrived, someone was painting on a wall. In the quiet village, the walls adorned with various colors and patterns add an artistic touch to the area.
The road from October 5th Avenue to the Luhuan Pier is paved with small stones, and the modern road construction techniques have not replaced the old paving craftsmanship, which is most commendable. It retains the Portuguese style and has more aesthetic value.
There is a church here that one can freely enter and exit, possibly because it's not a worship day and there's no one to manage or receive visitors. The sense of vicissitude emanating from the black spots on the walls of those buildings, and the surrounding buildings also have a certain historical age.
Macau is a bustling metropolis, but on the other side, we can also find the unique tranquility of historic villages here. Luhuan is a great choice!
Coloane Island in Macau, an overlooked treasure of a fishing village
'Coloane Island' 👌
Compared to the Macau Peninsula and Taipa Island, Coloane is a fishing village far from the hustle and bustle of the city, where you can take a quiet stroll. There are minibuses shuttling around the island, making transportation convenient, with a rich selection of eateries, and the scenery is even more beautiful.
⭐️ Suggested visiting time: Half a day to a full day. Walk along the beach, feel the sea breeze, and space out; it's refreshing for both body and mind!
👣 Strolling around:
👉 After arriving at Coloane Island by bus, you can see the long coastline, with some eateries on both sides. You can buy a milk tea, get an egg tart, and jog leisurely. Stop anytime you see beautiful buildings and take photos 📷
👉 Hac Sa Beach: The crescent-shaped Hac Sa Beach is close to the residential area, full of life. In the evening, there are many barbecue stalls by the seaside, where you can watch the sunset while eating barbecue and drinking beer 🍺
👉 Cheoc Van Estate: Known as Macau's backyard, it's less crowded and scenically beautiful. There's also a super beautiful S-shaped coastal road, a must-visit for photography lovers!
👉 Rua Cinco de Outubro: Walking along the roadside is the perfect choice for a leisurely stroll. Along the way, there are colorful buildings, all with high photo-taking potential!
👉
🍴 Dining:
👉 Andrew's Egg Tart Garden Cafe: Besides egg tarts, this cafe also offers Western-style light meals in a pleasant environment, perfect for an afternoon tea 🉑️
👉 Hon Kee Cafe: Simple and rough decoration, but the food is really surprising! The hand-beaten coffee has a unique taste, slightly bitter but aromatic.
👉 Fernando's Portuguese Restaurant: Locals nearby choose to have family gatherings here, serving authentic Portuguese cuisine and has been open for many years.
👉 Hac Sa Beach Fat Boy Barbecue: The barbecue stall opposite the bus station, dining with a sea view, I call it the 'linger and forget to return' meal.
.
🏨 Accommodation: There are fewer hotel options on Coloane Island, it is recommended to choose hotels in Taipa, such as The Parisian, The Londoner, The St. Regis, Sheraton, The Ritz-Carlton, etc. Take bus 26A from the Taipa area, and it takes about 20 minutes to reach Coloane Island~
Macau | 95% will miss the recommended coastal Citywalk route! Macau
Apart from the landmark Ruins of St. Paul's on the Macau Peninsula and the dazzling Taipa Island, there is also a neglected Coloane Island in Macau. Along the coast, there are various colorful houses, which is a very suitable seaside play route for Citywalk.
-
【Citywalk route recommendation】
Hon Kee hand-made coffee——Andrew's Bakery——October 5th Street——Heart-shaped seaside tree hole——Bamboo Bay Beach——Bamboo Bay Mansion——Dragon Claw Cape——Black Sand Beach
-
【Must-visit spots on the route】
✔️Hon Kee hand-made coffee: A very famous local shop, hand-made coffee is really unique
✔️Andrew's Bakery: This is the main store, the must-eat in Macau is their egg tarts, definitely not stepping on thunder
✔️October 5th Street: This road is colorful, very artistic, there are churches, libraries, colorful street corners, seaside chairs, etc., all very photogenic
✔️Heart-shaped seaside tree hole: At the end of October 5th Street, there is a temple, go straight along the uphill road on the left hand side, there is a heart-shaped seaside tree hole before reaching Bamboo Bay Beach
✔️Bamboo Bay Beach: You can see it on the slope, you don't have to go down to the beach, it's beautiful even from a distance
✔️Bamboo Bay Mansion: At the end of the road is the sea's popular S-shaped road, there are few people here and it's very photogenic
✔️Dragon Claw Cape: Coastal reef plank road, very beautiful along the coast, there is a sea-viewing pavilion
✔️Black Sand Beach: Another popular place in Macau, the black beach with the blue sea is very photogenic
-
【Some Citywalk precautions】
▪️You can take bus 26A directly from Taipa to Coloane Residents' Hall or take a taxi directly to Hon Kee hand-made coffee, and you can take 26A directly from Black Sand Beach to return
▪️This Citywalk route is relatively long, it is recommended to travel light, I just brought an iPhone15PM to take pictures, just brought the newly acquired PITAKA mountain and star river phone case, aramid fiber material, very thin, bare machine feel, and with magnetic suction function, very suitable for outdoor travel.
▪️The seaside wind is big and it's quite sunny, it's recommended to wear a sun protection clothing, and then bring a bottle of water is enough
🇲🇴Cool Coloane Village🇲🇴
When in Macau, make time to visit this charming village Coloane💚We took a taxi to this village and got off at the center. The town was buzzing with people, cars and buses. Lord Stow’s bakery had a queue if people lined up for their fresh warm egg tarts! We wanted to explore one side of the town first so we went towards the east from our our location, we passed by houses, cafes and colorful buildings. I loved all the color around and I couldn’t stop taking pictures. Will be sharing more!
