Largs day trip
Getting There - Glasgow Central to Largs
Attractions - Skelmorlie Aisle, Largs Museum
Food & Restaurants - Bagel Basket, Nardini's
Largs is a small town to visit at the west side of Scotland. It was a lovely day. I would recommend to choose a nice weather to go although it’s quite hard to predict the weather in Scotland lol. There were lots of sea gulls so be aware of your food as it might be attacked them.
Ardrossan Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Ardrossan castle
Ardrossan castle is near the train station, Ardrossan Harbour. Just a wee walk from Ardrossan beach. You can see the panorama of the small town by climbing up to a wee hill. I had a wee wander there because I was waiting for the ferry to go to Isle of Arran, which is my destination. The ticket office was beside the train station as well. Just buy it before you board. Card payment accepted.
Ardrossan Beach
Getting There - Train from Glasgow central
Attractions - Ardrossan beach, castle
Hotels - N/A
Ayrshire is a beautiful area to visit. It is easy to take the train from central station to Ardrossan harbour. Pick a sunny day to go otherwise your hat might be blown away. The beach at Ardrossan is pretty quite and the sand is soft. I really enjoyed the time there especially during the stressful semester.
Fairlie Beach Car Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Fairlie beach
Fairlie is a small town in west coast of Scotland. It took about 40min from Glasgow central to get there. If you wanna go for a wee escape, it is a good place to go because it is really quiet compared to other popular places in Scotland. You can go for a walk to Fairlie Castle or just walk along the sea coast with your friends, dogs or children. There’s Kelburn Castle and Estate nearby if you fancy to visit another castle.
Greggs Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
The Most Famous Bakery in Scotland🏴
#timetotravel
This is Greggs Bakery that is all over Scotland but it wasn't established in Scotland though. It was first established in England however I think the Scottish love it better that is why Pret is more famous in England and Greggs is more famous in Scotland. Sausage Rolls are the must haves when eating at Greggs but they also offer donuts, pastries and drinks. It is pretty cheap too!

Portencross Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Stunning Castle and Views 🏴
What a wonderful historic castle. We arrived 10 minutes before it closed for the day and the all the staff were welcoming and very informative leaving me with new knowledge. It is well maintained with the stunning views of the sea and the nearby islands. How I wished we had a longer time coz there's just too much to learn inside.
Entry is free and the parking is also free of charge. You just need to walk for a bit before reaching the castle. Just follow all the signs from the parking area. I highly suggest that you donate so they can maintain the castle.
TIP: Visit on a sunny day. We were there when it was raining so we couldn't really stay on the top of the castle and the castle's surrounding.
Enjoy!
Address: Portencross, West kilbride KA23 9QA
Opening time: 11 am to 4 pm
Drive Distance: It will take you 45-50 minutes from Glasgow.
