To get to the village entrance, take the Red River Avenue to Duozirou Road -- pass the west gate of Cross-bridge Rice Noodle Town and turn left immediately -- proceed for 1 kilometer to reach Kongfang Village. ⏳Recommended Duration: 2 hours, or even a whole day (to thoroughly enjoy the day's activities) 🌟The murals in the village awaken everyone's nostalgia, offering not only photo opportunities but also a taste of the authentic flavors of Xin'an at very reasonable prices. Here, you'll find classic scenes like Totoro holding an umbrella, astronauts floating in space, and the playful interactions between the familiar Tom and Jerry. Casually, a giraffe peeks out, minions appear along the power lines, or a lifelike puppy sits in the corner. Some courtyards dedicate an entire wall to a large cat fishing. Others are adorned with several pairs of 'dreamy wings.' In some courtyards, there's an elephant crashing into one side of the wall, while the other side features a dreamy, beautiful mermaid. The juxtaposition of violence and aesthetics creates a unique flavor. One courtyard is covered with light pink cherry blossoms, romantic and unforgettable. Walk a few steps and you'll see a 'convenience store,' a 'cinema,' and a 'dipping powder roll' shop; turn a corner and spot a little girl climbing the wall; pause for a moment and discover that even the garage has been decorated with paintings... Although the styles of adjacent houses may differ, they surprisingly complement each other. Some alleys are already beautiful with just a fresh coat of paint. Some paintings instantly remind you of classics, while others invite you to join in the fun. Utility poles, water meter boxes, corner pipes, stone tables, and benches, all the paintings integrate as much as possible with the villagers' homes without feeling out of place. Whether it's realism, romanticism, or even geometric abstraction, the village may be small, but we walk slowly, because many surprises await your discovery. The most delightful sight is the two cottages by the roadside that remind one of Mondrian's famous paintings. Venturing deeper into the alley, we arrive at what is claimed to be 'the most beautiful courtyard.' Initially skeptical, we were pleasantly surprised after taking a closer look around the courtyard. The paintings on the courtyard walls must have been there for some time. Yet, they are very delicate, and we discovered a cute little mouse hiding by the door (painted), a flock of birds ready to spread their wings under the eaves (also painted), and a playful kitten tangling with a ball of yarn (of course, painted) The courtyard is planted with succulents and bougainvillea, and flowers are also painted on the walls. The real and the painted flowers blend together, making it hard to distinguish between reality and art. My little treasure calls this place 'Comic Village,' while I think 'Fairy Tale Village' is also a fitting name If you have a childlike heart and enjoy discovering little joys, you might want to visit. After visiting Yaofang Village, you can also take a trip to the Cross-bridge Rice Noodle Town and Pomegranate Park. It's really vast, and you can spend the whole day taking pictures. There's even a camping spot on the mountain top (to be introduced later, which I think is also a great place to watch the sunset and stars!
