I spent some nice days in Catania. The city has its charm and great buildings. Streets are a bit dirty :(. Locals are very friendly, smiling and welcoming. The airport is close to the city centre and from Catania could be taken buses and trains at very affordable prices to most of Sicilian cities. Traditional pasta there is Pasta Norma which I highly recommend.
