Barcelona is located in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea. It is the second largest city in Spain, the capital of the Catalonia Autonomous Community, and the capital of the province of Barcelona (belonging to the Catalonia Autonomous Community). The Catalan Autonomous Community Parliament, administrative agencies, and high court are all located here. The total area of the city is 101.9 square kilometers, and the population of the urban area was about 1.61 million in 2012. If including the surrounding areas, the population is 4 million, second only to the capital Madrid, and it is also one of the most densely populated cities in the world. Its main ethnic group is the Catalan people. [1] Barcelona became the capital of Catalonia and the Kingdom of Aragon in 1137, and in the early 15th century, Barcelona and its territories were incorporated into Spain. Barcelona is a port city in Catalonia, a world-renowned Mediterranean tourist destination and a famous historical and cultural city. It is also Spain's most important trade, industry, and financial center.

#createwithtrip I do recommend you plan your visit to Toledo Cathedral first thing in the morning. It gets extremely busy not only in summer and during weekends but mostly because Toledo is a popular day trip destination from Madrid. There are so many church in here. Inside it, you will have a good look at this beautiful work of art. When we were there it was almost empty, so we had the place to ourselves. We could pray and feel so peaceful. Not a must see but worth it if you are in the area. There were barely any other tourists there, the staff were very nice, and the church itself was very beautiful. All of the signs were in Spanish. #church #spaintravel #toledo

Such a beautifully massive and impressive cathedral, featuring some of the greatest religious artwork. The details on the floors, doors and walls are incredible.Every piece of the cathedral is a superb painting or sculpture. Also, because it took centuries to build, it started as a Renaissance building,, which was more fashionable 200 years later, when it was being finished. It’s a delightful piece of history that is worth taking the time to visit. The catholic church in Spain must have been or still is very rich. Side chapels offer glimpses into the lives of certain Spanish saints. Classical, traditional framed artwork is hung around. #spain #church #holyland

We visited for a Christmas break for the third time so arrived with great expectations. Unfortunately the hotel part of the complex had been closed due to the corona virus and we were given a room in the apartments. This was the only disappointment we had during the stay. The apartments have recently been renovated and are quite tasteful, but theatre is a clear glass window, floor to ceiling between the bathroom and bedroom. I found this very strange but when I told reception about my concerns they did send someone to the room who stuck paper sheets to the window that made it obscure. There are hand sanitisers around the hotel and tables have been moved further apart. Doors to cafe Belroy and the restaurant were kept open to improve ventilation. All these measures made us feel quite safe. As usual the staff in the hotel, without exception were cheerful and helpful. For the first 2 days breakfast was in the cafe and did not provide the usual choices. For the last 3 days they moved back to the restaurant and the normal Belroy choices and standards returned. Overall we both enjoyed our stay this year and will happily recommend the Belroy as a safe and pleasant place to relax. #themepark#zoo#nationalpark#lakes#beaches

An enjoyable visit to check out the walls at Avila and to visit the top of the wall for an open view of Avila city. Although it was a very quick stop-by due to the the need to visit Segovia in such a short time as well. Personally loved the Alcazar tour as it was more comprehensive and we got enough time to check out the interior of the castle. Spain has always been a place I’ve wanted to visit. But I only knew about Barcelona and Madrid. Haven’t heard of Avila and Segovia until I booked this tour! And I’m so happy I did. It’s a beautiful side of Spain I never thought I needed to see! Both were places that deserves a name of its own. You all need to see it! #lakes#beaches
