This used to be General Wu Shi's former residence, and his office is still preserved here. It's very quaint, and you can almost imagine the general strategizing here back in the day. The service was incredibly thoughtful; they helped with our luggage and provided welcome fruits. Although our room wasn't big, it was very quiet and had everything we needed. It's super convenient for exploring Sanfang Qixiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys), and it's also very close to the 'Love Tree'!

I love staying at Tangtao Yard Hostel. The whole place is historic, homey, comfy and tranquillising. I was so lucky to be greeted by a young boy who is the receptionist at the place. He is super helpful and gave me a map detailing all the major scenic spots at Gulangzu. He even told me where I could find great places for local delicacies, making my whole tour memorable and exquisite.
My room was very spacious and quiet. The bedding was spotlessly clean. I fell asleep immediately when l lay on the comfy bed.
I would definitely pay a visit here again. Thanks for everything.

Our stay this time was absolutely fantastic! This European-style villa completely exceeded my expectations and added countless wonderful memories to our trip.
The exterior of the villa is very grand, with classic European lines and vintage lighting, making it feel as if we were instantly transported to a charming European town. The surrounding environment is serene and quiet, offering great privacy without feeling isolated.
Stepping inside was even more delightful! The interior decoration is exquisite and elegant, brimming with a strong artistic ambiance. The fireplace in the living room (even if decorative), the spiral staircase, and the vintage furniture all contributed to a wonderful atmosphere. The room was spacious and bright, and the bedding was comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep.
The villa manager was incredibly thoughtful, responding promptly to communications and offering many helpful tips for local sightseeing. They made our stay feel as warm and welcoming as coming home.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Shuzhuang Garden and Sunlight Rock. The service was exceptional; as soon as I arrived on the island, they sent a WeChat message reminding me not to navigate directly to the hotel, as it would take me on a detour. The front desk staff was very gentle and polite. Other rooms are probably great, but the bunk bed room I booked was incredibly small. However, the hygiene was excellent, and they even had screens on the windows. Finally, they gave me a moxa stick as a small gift.

My parents and I stayed and dined at Fuyu Lou, which is considered the grandest Tulou in the Tulou Prince Scenic Area. Our host, Ah Wen, was incredibly warm and attentive; he even picked us up and dropped us off at the village entrance, and treated us to a delightful tea tasting. The dishes prepared by the auntie were incredibly delicious, allowing us to truly savor authentic Tulou cuisine. The courtyard had a wonderful ambiance, becoming particularly stunning in the evenings when the lanterns illuminated. Our room was also very clean, and the high-quality toiletries provided were a nice touch. When my parents felt a bit chilly at night, the auntie, despite already having gone to bed, thoughtfully brought them extra blankets – we were truly grateful for her kindness! Having explored various other Tulou structures throughout the Tulou Prince Scenic Area, we unanimously agreed that Fuyu Lou stands out as exceptional in every aspect – its rich history, beautiful environment, and the wonderful host. We truly made the perfect choice! Our stay and dining experience at Fuyu Lou was undoubtedly the biggest highlight of our entire Fujian trip!

It was great to stay at here. The bed is comfortable, toilet is cleaned, room design is nice! There is washing machine near to room so its convenient for us to wash our cloth as we stayed for more than 1 night.
The location is good, just walking distance to the famous street, bosses are very friendly and helpful, they helped to carry our luggage to the rooms, provide information on attraction places. Breakfast were great and delicious and they provide free tea pack, fruits during our stay!
We are very happy to stay here and will definitely come back next time.

Super strategic location with walking distance to most food places in Kinmen old town. There are limited parking lots next to the hotel (for car rentals), if you rent their cars which are more expensive, they have different lots for them. The hotel does not provide toothbrush so be prepared for that.
Do check out the popular stir fry restaurant next to the hotel (and a temple), they have good range of seafood with reasonable prices

What an amazing experience! It was so cool to actually stay inside a Tulou. I was lucky that my room even had an en-suite bathroom! The owner was incredibly kind; they waited up for me despite my very late check-in. Since I specifically traveled all the way from Taiwan, the owner thoughtfully lit up the beautiful red lanterns for me, which looked absolutely stunning in photos! They also helped me take pictures and booked my bus ticket down the mountain. They truly go above and beyond to care for their guests! A huge thank you to the owner! I had such a wonderful time. If I get the chance, I'll definitely bring my family and friends to visit again!

Quanzhou Shangqinglou Inn | A Dream Back to Old Minnan Times
Choosing the right accommodation is incredibly important when traveling to Quanzhou! Staying at Shangqinglou this time made even me, a local Quanzhou native, exclaim: ”This is exactly what a traditional Minnan 'gucuo' (ancient dwelling) should look like!”
”Gucuo Architectural Features: Bringing Childhood Memories into the Inn”
The moment I stepped into the inn, the red brick swallowtail ridges and the wooden courtyard immediately resonated with my Minnan DNA. The vintage pipa decorations, the stone tables and benches in the courtyard, and the aged wooden beams—every detail reminded me so much of my grandmother's house when I was a child. The duplex tatami king room I stayed in was an even bigger surprise; the wooden staircase connecting the upper and lower levels created a clever and stylish space. The room was clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. Sipping a pot of tea and chatting in the courtyard, the unhurried pace of Minnan life instantly returned. It's hard not to fall in love with this sense of ease~
”Location Advantage: Explore the Old City with a 2 Yuan 'Little White Car'”
The inn is located right near West Street—the location is absolutely fantastic! Just a few steps out, you can catch a 'little white car' for 2 yuan per person, which takes you directly to all the ancient city attractions like Kaiyuan Temple, Chengtian Temple, Guandi Temple, and Qingjing Temple. The transportation is incredibly convenient. As a World Heritage City, Quanzhou's rich cultural heritage is fully showcased around West Street. After a tiring day of exploring, returning to the inn feels like coming home to a warm harbor.
”Breakfast Experience: Freshly Made Minnan Flavors to Wake Up To”
What my mother and I were most satisfied with was the breakfast! All the Minnan specialty dishes were freshly prepared that morning. Waking up to a hot, authentic, and heartwarming meal was wonderful. The owner was also exceptionally kind and friendly, like a friend; staying here felt completely familiar.
If you're also looking for a place in Quanzhou that offers a taste of 'gucuo' culture, convenient transportation, and a warm, human touch, you can't go wrong with Shangqinglou!

The hotel is generally antique, clean and tidy, with traces of Hakka culture everywhere; the hotel is in an excellent location, close to the ”Shop Street”, and it is very convenient to various tourist spots in the ancient city of Tingzhou. It is a better place to travel to the ancient city of Tingzhou and learn the history of Hakka. It is recommended

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was big and sunny, very silent, the bed comfortable, the heating worked really well and the shower gets nice and hot if you wait for a while. It’s off season right now, but we were still surprised to see that the hotel was practically empty, it deserves more clients. It’s one of the few hotels inside the park which is very convenient, and much nicer than the ones outside of the park that look really sad and ugl. We much preferred waking up with a view on the tea plantations. The staff doesn’t speak English at all but they’re very kind and will try their best to understand all your needs through translation apps. We ended up staying a day less and they were kind enough to give us the breakfast for free. They will also offer you to taste their local tea in the hall, which is delicious and served in the traditional way which is fascinating to watch. The furniture and overall look of the hotel might be a little dated, but we actually liked it, it gives character compared to all the ultra modern, aseptic hotels. The breakfast was really abundant and delicious, typical of the area which we loved. The only real inconvenience is that didi won’t be able to leave you at the hotel entrance, it will be stopped at the park entrance which is a 10 minutes walk on a road busy with all the park’s buses. The solution is either booking the car directly through the hotel, or ask the hotel to register your didi’s plate so it can enter the park. We did this when we visited the nearby Xiamei village and it worked.
Excellent service from the lady boss and the staff. From the time I contacted her, she sent me lots of information about getting to the guesthouse. More importantly, she followed up with me to ensure that I am on the right track to the guesthouse. This was very much appreciated as I had a flight delay and that messed up my original travel plan. The lady boss was very proactive in ensuring that I find my way to the guesthouse. The lady boss' daugther is very cute and adorable. She shared part of her orange with me and when I told her that I liked it, she went off and got one for me! Even wanted to help me with my luggage but a little difficult as she's only 8 years old. The guesthouse is located on top of a small hill and lady boss will pick up guests at the bottom of the hill; actually, in my opinion, hardly needed as it's only 10 minutes or less walk up a gentle slope but she does the pickup as part of the service that they offer. The room is very nice and clean. The toilet is western style and has a very nice touch - spot lights are installed on the toilet ceilings and when the nights are cold, you will really appreciate the warmth from these lights after coming out from your shower! And finally, they will drive guests out to 2 of the best viewpoints for the Tianluokeng cluster at no additional charge.

Generally we had a wonderful stay with excellent service from the staffs at the reception and breakfast. The buggy service was great to send us to or pick us from the gantry of the street. It was thoughtful of the hotel to provide guests hot tea or water at the reception area. It adds convenient for any tiring and thirsty returning hotel guests. The only thing we did not enjoy was visitors from outside who walk into the Courtyard where our ground floor rooms are located. I had a shock when a couple of guys who peep into our room only realised later they were non hotel guests. A few times it happened with some visitors peeping as we did not close our main door for our 2 neighbouring rooms. The management should consider using the key tapped glass door similar to the one outside the breakfast room, as visitors can still view the small MingGuo Yuen courtyard with the double storey rooms through the glass doors. This also helps to avoid noisy visitors disturbing our rest in the room. Lastly the breakfast was reasonable and I love the hot soup noodle with Fuzhou fishball and dumplings. Overall its an excellent stay, convenient location to the train station and definitely the tourist street SanFanQiXiang.
Spending a night at Changdi Inn, nestled in the heart of the historic Hongkeng Tulou Cluster, was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my Xiamen trip. The inn is located within a centuries old Hakka earthen building, and the moment you step inside, you will be instantly transported back in time. The stay offers an immersive look into traditional Hakka culture and architecture, surrounded by thick earthen walls, wooden beams, and antique details that speak volumes of the past. What mak it extra special was meeting the friendly innkeeper, a 6th generation descendant of the family that built and preserved this Tulou. He shared stories and local insights making the whole experience even more meaningful. The room was simple yet clean and comfortable, blending rustic charm with basic modern comforts. I got to enjoy authentic Hakka meals, lovingly prepared and bursting with homestyle flavor, perfect after a day of exploring. Waking up in the peaceful village setting, watching the locals go about their daily lives, and hearing the birds chirping outside, it's a rare, soulful escape from the city.
I stayed three nights at this wonderful guest house, which is situated in a very quiet, peaceful and scenic part of Gulangyu, at almost the highest point, where you could see a gorgeous view of the harbour, the town and the lush green gardens below. I was fortunate to be upgraded to a better, room, presumably because the guest-house was quiet, despite it being Golden Week. The room, the furnishings, the bathroom and the scenic view certainly made it a restful experience. However, the breakfast, while extremely healthy and standard for locals, did not seem to quite fit with the rest of the experience. In particular, I was surprised not to be offered anything to drink at all - not even water or tea. However, the staff were ready to offer bottled water at any time. But on this note, if I could make a suggestion, it would be preferable to install large water container in the lobby, so that guests could use refillable water bottles rather than creating a lot of unnecessary plastic bottles. Despite these small issues, I would certainly recommend the place and stay again though for the serene, historic location.
The accommodation provides spacious and clean rooms and is perfectly located in the Tulou scenic area at the southern part of Taxia village and very close to both the 田螺坑 土楼 and 河坑 土楼 as well as the 裕昌 building. All of them can be reached by car in just a few minutes. I arrived at the Inn without a car myself and the owner not only helped me organize the visits but even offered to drive me to several nearby tulou. We had the chance to share several meals prepared by his wife, which were all excellent, and some very good tea from the region. The host is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor - we talked a lot after I arrived despite my very limited Chinese. All in all, I can recommend this place very much - I would come back anytime if I decide to visit the area again. (P.S. make sure to ask the host about the fireflies nearby - seeing them under the starry night is a mesmerizing experience and was one of the highlights of my trip to Fujian)

Cosy little hidden gem in the city centre, fantastic rustic traditional chinese interior as though you've traveled back in time. The front desk was great! Drinking water is provided and rooms are freshened up daily. Thank you for the wonderful experience! 💕🙏 Happy 2026!
We had an awesome stay at the hotel, it was clean, modern and had everything we needed. The view from the window was directly at the mountain and looked awe inspiring. The street in front is beautiful and pedestrian-only so no car noises. The hotel is right next to the main food street with great restaurants and shops and is also within walking distance of the Wuyishan Scenic area. The owners are the best. They are super friendly, hospitable, helped us out a ton, gave great recommendations and were fun to chat to. We are english speakers and talking to them was fine even without a translator. Highly recommend.
