The Sebel is a new hotel that provides a comfortable room in a location just outside the CBD. The kitchenette with oven, dishwasher and electric hobb means you can stay in and cook or head into the city.
A supermarket is only about 10 minutes' walk away.
Staff were great, we will return, thanks Trip.com.

The staff were friendly and the accommodation was good.
However, there was not much parking space, so I parked on the street.
Also, there were not many amenities around the accommodation and it was a bit far from the city center, which was disappointing.

Wonderful hotel: modern, new, comfortable bed, good pressure in the shower.
I reserved parking a couple of hours before check-in by email.
Check-in was quick, super service.
I recommend it with all my heart!

The hotel is very new and has good hardware. It is also very close to the ferry station. The only drawback is that because it is close to the ferry station, the sound of the ship is heard all night, so I can only fall asleep after taking sleeping pills and ear plugs.

I have no idea how this is a 4 5 star rating hotel. There is no on-site restaurant, gym, etc. It is a 20 min walk to the cbd. I'm not sure how Accor do their rating, but worth checking what services they provide. The hotel supplied us with a breakfast voucher to a basic cafe across the road, but we couldn't eat there as they didn't open until 8am on Saturdays and we needed to eat earlier. There are no restaurants nearby.

I spend most of my time in Asia hotels where you are spoilt for 5 star options at 3 star prices. So it was good to find a hotel in Wellington that didn't break the bank but was nice enough to warrant repeat stays. Lovely, spacious room with kitchenette; very quiet thanks to double glazing; nice bathroom with decent toiletries; and a comfy bed that gave me some of my best sleeps when travelling. Also a guest laundry on the floor. Staff were friendly, eager to help, and accommodating of my special requests. I try not to be demanding but I did have a lot of complicated needs on this long stay, and all were met. The hotel is in a handy location, 10-12 mins stroll into the CBD. There's also a bus stop close by, on the Johnsonville or Grenada route. I didn't bother with nearby restaurants. There's a small supermarket in the Railway Station and a big supermarket on Molesworth St where you can get groceries and ready to eat supplies. You can also buy cheap kitchenware if needed at the nearby Mary Potter Hospice shop and donate it back when finished.

Great location for a one night stay. However, the sofa bed was not that good and only had 1 sheet laid on it for use. No pillows or blankets for our daughter to use. When asked the staff did not really respond. We also only had 2 towels for the 3 people we booked for and were made to feel like we were asking for something out of the ordinary when we asked for another towel- this was before we discovered the lack of blankets and pillows for the sofa bed. And there was no bath mat for the bathroom. All in all just a pass mark. It was comfy enough for two out of 3 of us and as we were up early anyway the proximity of the train tracks did not bother us.

I stayed here as it was close to the ferry terminal and I was happily surprised. Super friendly check in and a really tastefully decorated room. Tea and coffee making and a fridge and a microwave if you wanted to cook. Lovely toiletries. A short 10 min walk to town. The only downside is limited restaurants close by - I do not recommend the Vietnamese at all. It was horrendous but this hotel was well worth the price. Nice and quiet overnight

Nice and new, so everything looks good. Good shower, nice towels, comfortable bed. It's quiet despite being on main road, double glazed. Downside no restaurant on site and not a lot nearby walking distance. There is another new one in lower Hutt so will give that a try.

Check in was fairly straightforward. I was a little annoyed that they did not seem to recognise my Accor Plus silver status as when I asked for late checkout (which is one of the benefits) the receptionist said that they couldnt accomodate as they were fully booked for the next day. However when I looked later online they had at least 3 of the same type of room available the next day- so that left an initial bad taste. I’m also really not a fan of seeing housekeeping trolleys/cages as soon as you come out the lift on the floor (at 3pm when presumably all the housekeeping for the day has been finished) The room itself was clean and tidy. I noticed there was only 1 bedside lamp in the room which was unusual. The individually controlled AC in the room was good. The bed was a little firmer than I would have liked. I had a view overlooking the stadium concourse and across to the port. It took me maybe 15mins and googling to figure out how to use the oven. A quick guide in the room would have been welcomed. There was no can/bottle opener in the room which was a bit annoying. Just a note this hotel is located right next to railway lines so expect considerable noise in the morning from trains rattling past. Not the hotels fault, but if you’re a light sleeper maybe bring earplugs. The bathroom wasn’t massive but perfectly fine, again was very clean and tidy. The fold out wall mirror light did not seem to work (just like the USB-C port by the bed). Considering this hotel hasn’t even been open a year things already not working isn’t the best sign. Would I stay again/recommend? It depends. To me this seems more suited to a business customer more so than a personal holiday destination given its location. I’m not so sure this accomodation will hold up in the long run given things are already not working and can see scuff marks and dings on the hallway walls.
