Palazzo San Lorenzo

This is a super hotel, the rooms are just lovely with everything clean and new and comfortable and sparkly. Location is great, a few minutes walk from the Grand canal, a few minutes walk from St Marks Square and restaurant's and eateries right next to you. For the most part the staff were super accommodating and very helpful and friendly bar one receptionist that was quite brusque and uninterested and simply did not want to assist. This unfortunately marred our stay and prevented the review being a 5* we arrived to a lovely room, however with an interconnecting door with the next room that had a half inch gap between the door and the frame - we could hear everything (and I mean everything) from the occupants. If we were part of the family it would not be a challenge. We mentioned this to the receptionist as soon as we arrived and he said that we could move the next day, they had departures and he would leave a note for the day staff. It was the female day staff that refused to move us to one of those departing rooms :( Therefore, we were woken each morning when they rose at 6am, and also when they went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The only other thing to check is the price of the breakfast - prepay when booking the hotel as on the day price is not worth it. But I must say, overall, this is a lovely hotel, and super swanky with lots of high level amenities and provisions and great location.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect location. Free room upgrade and the staff took the time to explain the local area and recommended restaurants, excursions etc. The room itself was perfect and very spacious for such a central location. Wonderful bathroom and all the amenities you would need.

Lovely small hotel that is really central for Venice sights. Standard rooms are quite small but comfortable beds and a great well lit bathroom. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. Would recommend and would return.

Such a beautiful hotel. We had a standard double and the room was huge!!!! It had a beautiful chandelier and the bathroom was lovely. Everything was so cleanand the staff were ever so friendly and helpfull. We never heard any noise at night. The hotel is very central and everything is walking distance. We had the best stay!!!

The hotel is located very close to the Piazza San Marcos 8 minute walk. The hotel is super clean and rooms are beautiful. A lot of restaurants around. The staff is fantastic!! They went above and beyond to meet my needs. I highly recommend this hotel.

It’s a unique hotel. It’s quite lovely if you’re a) used to an American bed. These are above average for Europe beds. The air conditioning sucks. It’s over 76°F and 95% humidity. Great for sleeping. Hotel front desk said they would fix it tomorrow. That’s nice, we check out tomorrow. Each room here is different, maybe I just got the crap one.
