The location of the hotel was perfect for me, there is a metro station right across the street. The general impression was not bad but there were some minor flaws. My room was rather spacious but dark with a very small window under the ceiling. The interior is also a little dated. The walls definitely need a fresh coat of paint. And when I checked in there was a weird smell in the room, so I kept the window open all the time. The bathroom was super clean though and the bed really comfortable. The hotel is pretty quiet, at least I couldn't hear any noise from the neighboring rooms.

A cost-effective hotel worth recommending, clean and tidy, with thoughtful service and excellent professionalism. Although it is in the Panmen Scenic Area, it is not a popular attraction, so it is very quiet.
The hotel is close to the outer moat. When you go out in the morning, you can see willows brushing your face and hear the summer cicadas. You can walk along the river to the Nanmen subway station. After enjoying Suzhou-style soup noodles and morning tea, you can walk more than ten meters to the Confucian Temple, Keyuan Garden, and Canglang Pavilion.
If you take the 9005 bus at the entrance of the hotel and transfer to Xujiang Road, you can transfer to You 5 to go directly to Liuyuan Garden and Xiyuan Temple. Hanshan Temple is also within walking distance.

Good location a few walking minutes away from the subway. Very kind and nice owner. Overall good option considering its very good price, unfortunately it would need a bit of renovation as even if the place was cleaned it felt less clean due to darkening walls and old carpet. Facilities: Because there are elderly and children who are afraid that the bathtub is not safe, I asked the hotel in advance. Only this room type is newly renovated, has a shower, and is very clean.
Service: Every waiter in the hotel is very nice and considerate. They also gave children a special toiletries set. If you come back late at night, there are free porridge and tea eggs.
The Aozao noodles on the second floor taste good, but there are many people and you need to wait in line. The front desk also gave a small gift when you leave the hotel. It is also convenient for travel. I will choose this hotel next time I come to a meeting.

The hotel is conveniently located next to the subway. The front desk girl upgraded the room to the top floor, the 16th floor, and the two rooms are next to the elevator, so the elderly don't have to walk a lot.
The room is very large, estimated to be more than 30 square meters, and very clean. The room is carpeted. The room facilities have aged over time, and the bathroom sewer has a bit of a fan smell. I came to Tongli Lake a few years ago and stayed at Tongli Lake Hotel. This time I wanted to change the environment. I checked Tongli Lake Resort Phase II on Ctrip. Most of the comments praised the parent-child play projects and felt that it was more suitable for parent-child travel, so I booked a comfortable double room. The day before leaving, I received a call from the housekeeper Yu Ting and added WeChat. The housekeeper Yu Ting was very enthusiastic and careful. She informed me of the relevant situation of the resort, provided navigation positioning, and learned that Ctrip could upgrade my room type, so she upgraded me to a lake view room in advance. After arriving at the hotel, I felt very good at first sight. The resort is spacious and atmospheric as a whole, and the room is large. You can see Tongli Lake in the room. The boat restaurant in the distance and the lake water rippling in the breeze complement each other, which is refreshing. The resort has complete facilities and the hardware is in place. There are many parent-child projects such as children's playground, water park, swimming pool, and small train. The children are all having fun. It is indeed the only choice for parent-child travel. The buffet breakfast is also a highlight, with rich varieties and delicious. It is worth mentioning that the resort's service is really very good, with smiling service, answers to all questions, and responsiveness to all requests. When checking out, the front desk lady also gave the children toys and gifts. In particular, the service of the housekeeper Yu Ting is impeccable. She greets us on WeChat every day, asks for opinions on hotel services, cares about itinerary arrangements, provides dining recommendations, and personally drives a tour bus to pick us up and drop us off at the ship restaurant. LljjjRoom: The room is quite okay, not too small but not too big. We can open two 24-inch suitcases in the room.
Air Conditioning: The air conditioning is a standard unit (not central), and you can use the remote to set the temperature according to your preferences. You can adjust it to be very cold or less cold.
Amenities: Every day, they refill two bottles of mineral water for us. They also provide new slippers, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo daily. Towels can also be changed every day. There are about 4-5 sockets in the room. Remember to bring a universal adapter, as the sockets are not designed for international use, although there is a USB port that can be used directly.
Shower: The water pressure is not very strong but still acceptable.
Breakfast: The hotel only has a pantry area with 1 table and limited chairs (similar to pantry) and no restaurant.
Transport: The hotel is near the Humble Administrator's Garden (5 minutes walking distance), Lion Forest Garden (3 minutes walking distance), and Suzhou Museum (5 minutes walking distance). The Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum are located side by side. If you don’t mind walking, you can also reach Pingjiang Road (15-20 minutes walking distance) and Guanqian Street (15-20 minutes walking distance). For other attractions, you might need to call Didi.
Location: There is a Family Mart located in the same row as the hotel, making it easy to buy snacks. My travel dates are May 21, 2024 - May 23, 2024. There is some construction nearby (it seems to be a new metro construction). It’s not noisy but a bit dusty. When walking to Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street, you need to walk near the main road and construction site. It can be slightly dangerous, but many people are using the same route.
Laundry: They offer a free laundry service. You can use the washing machine and dryer for free. However, there are only two washing machines and two dryers. Many people use them at night, so you might need to wait when others are using them.
Overall, it is good for a short stay and budget travelers.

Pros:
- Hotel is self-contained and there is no need to leave the hotel. There are large and well-maintained grounds for our daily walks with baby, including museums and traditional pagodas dotted throughout the property. There is a chinese, western (steak, pizza) and japanese (teppanyaki) restaurant within the hotel. There is also a kids play room and swimming pool, along with some other kid friendly activities like rabbit feeding and games on the lawn.
- The hotel is right next to the lake and is quite beautiful. It's very relaxing to stroll along the lake.
- There is an ancient town about 15 minutes walk from the hotel's main lobby. There is a free hotel shuttle to and from the ancient town too.
- Staff are generally friendly and helpful
- Large, family-friendly rooms are available. We stayed in a lake view suite, which was just right for us and our baby.
- Hotel is affordable by international standards
- Hotel is less than 2 hours drive from Shanghai, where we live
- We particularly enjoyed the teppenyaki restaurant where you can get a private room and a private chef to cook your meals
- Despite it being Golden Week, we didn't feel that the hotel was too crowded. Perhaps because the hotel has large grounds.
Cons
- The baby cot given to us had an extremely thin and uncomfortable mattress. To compensate, we were given a comforter to pad the mattress. However, this is unsafe for younger babies, who should sleep on a firm surface.
- The property and facilities are a bit dated
- There were very loud weddings on the lawn facing the lake each day that we were at the hotel. The loud music and emceeing disturbed the peaceful ambience of the place, and also disrupted baby's morning and afternoon naps. For families with children who still need to nap in the day, it may be better to stay in a quieter garden view room instead of a room facing the lake.

GGuest UserThere were a few ants in the first room we booked, but after a few screams and a phonecall we were quickly moved to another ant-free room. The staff were so helpful, kind and willing to communicate in English to the best of their ability. They made plenty of gestures with bowls of fruit, fragrant sacks and even a personal delivery of the food menu when we couldn't find the English menu on the TV. Their frequent arrivals had us jumping in our robes to grab the door every so often, but each time we were grateful to receive such thoughtful snacks and smells. Lovely place. Would visit again.

RRobsterNot knowing Suzhou at all, I thought I had chosen a hotel to suit my needs for exploring the history whilst still being near the modern. This hotel is ideal for both. With a metro station (line 3) Shajinqiao, within a 10 minute walk, literally, just round the corner, and a taxi ride to either end of where I wanted to be costing me under 30RMB, this was an absolute gem of a find.
On arrival, the staff were very good and extremely helpful. I was checked in without any fuss, with the usual pandemic checks, travel codes, health codes and I showed both 48hr and 24hr covid tests.
The room was cosy, with excellent air-conditioning, a very comfortable bed and very clean. The toilet was intelligent, electronic and quite a novelty. It even warmed my posterior whilst sitting on it!
The hotel provides a kettle and 2 free bottles of water daily though there may at one time have been a mini fridge, it was not there on this visit. Breakfast is served at reasonable times with the last orders being done 10:30am. (11 am at weekends). It is a decent spread, predominantly Chinese food, rice, vegetables, meats with cooked-to-order eggs, porridge (Chinese rice style) and a cold buffet. There are delicious pastries, toast and fruit. Tea and coffee are available along with a varied selection of fruit juices. The restaurant is airy, bright and clean. Plenty of seating is available.
Room lighting was bright and cheerful but could be set to 'mood' which dimmed and made for a more intimate atmosphere.
On Didi App, the hotel does not come under Atour Hotel. You will need to search for Yi He Cha Can Yin Guan Li You Xian Gong Si.
At the time of writing, Suzhou was low risk. However, the recommendation was for Suzhou citizens not to travel and if they had to, to show a 48hr covid test. I had a bit of trouble with getting the app to work and thanks very much, eternal gratitude, to the wonderfully patient and supportive reception staff who all contributed, made phone calls and tried their best to get the app to work. Eventually, we succeeded. That is service and that was fantastic.
Highly recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserOverall, I am quite satisfied with the service. The young man received us throughout the whole process with a good attitude and awareness. The family saw us and upgraded our room for free. It is worth praising. The style is quite unique. The serviced apar**ent is modern and simple. The security is very high. You need to swipe your card. 24-hour security. The location is excellent. There are shopping malls behind the Jinji Lake Scenic Area. The transportation is very convenient. The hygiene is also very clean. The bed is very comfortable. I will bring my family to play and stay here next time.

Qqueen_kooIf you’re looking for a perfect 4 star venue in the city centre then look no further! This place is a good bargain all round the year and even in peak seasons. I am going to split my review into sections so bare with me.
1) Rooms: The outdated the rooms need a serious paint jobs and the couch is quite “scratchy” material wise. Despite the interior eye sore, the flats are quite cosy with everything you need. Scenery wise , those who aren’t afraid of heights request the balcony rooms ! Maybe they don’t have the views of the shanghai centre shopping mall but the evening breeze did put me to sleep like a baby! Also the television was well packed with nostalgic movies , I really enjoyed the entertainment. Although the TV volume doesn’t go too loud , I guess it’s good respect to the neighbors some of who are long term tenants.
2) Service: Impeccable. The people here, although clearly overworked are so nice! The housekeepers are all so wonderful ! They were the ones who let me come back to a clean flat everyday , really it was a piece of home with a whole lot of help! For shampoos and conditioners and shower gel you would need to let the front desk know you need it, so please keep that in mind!
3) Breakfast: Just enough for survival , I’m quite particular about my tastes in food where the buffet options were too less and unfortunately not too tasty. But I was able to survive…I really hope they can fix this though cause the place although cheaper than others isn’t exactly cheap as well. If you want a good breakfast spread , you will be left heavily disappointed.
There’s a lot of cost cutting the hotel group has done and it’s obvious…I hope Ascott takes this into consideration cause it’s not good to have better hotels around the world but keep smaller cities forgotten and tightly budgeted!!
Suzhou is quite expensive than other cities due to the constant influx of tourists.
I don’t usually write much for my reviews but In this case I seem to care after seeing the overworked hotel staff and the poor conditions around them.
Come on Ascott do better. I initially was tempted to give a 3/5 review stars but it’s the people that pushed it up.

GGuest UserReally beautiful place. It looks to be brand new - maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but it certainly looks new. The room (a suite) was very spacious, very clean. Just a very beautiful place that fit well with the surroundings. The whole building was impeccably clean.
I rated the service 5/5 because the owners were very nice, and largely left us alone. The family was processing tea and were quite busy - check-in was extremely quick, check-out too. I'm not looking for hospitality, so being left alone suited us fine - this isn't a criticism at all! The rooms don't really come with much extra (tea, coffee etc.), just a couple of bottles of water, so best to know that before you book if you usually expect this, but we didn't so we were fine with it.
You can buy really good tea from them (maybe we timed it well as we arrived at the peak tea-picking time). The owners were very kind and let us try some, and it's really good tea - we ended up buying some.
Food was pretty good, but again they were quite busy and have specific times that food is available, and no menu, so best to check ahead with them (again, really taking into account that they were super busy processing tea when we were there). Absolutely not a problem as there are so many great restaurants around too.
TV in the room had VOD but without VIP, so if you're looking to watch movies or anything best to bring your own (including HDMI cable as our TV didn't have one).
Location excellent. Space for maybe 4 cars to park, right next to a small hill, very close to the pick-up point for the sightseeing bus to take you up to Xishan, and surrounded by lots of restaurants, B+Bs etc. so if you like coffee, there's a shop just down the road. Very beautiful surroundings - you will be shocked that you're so close to Suzhou as there's absolutely no evidence that you're anywhere near a city!
All in all, really enjoyable. Amazing price for a suite (around Y500 per night) and one of the better homestay-style places we've stayed in. Highly recommended.
