Royal Son Bou Family Club

Never have I wrote a review but this hotel deserves one! we are just coming to the end of our 10 night stay and it has been amazing from start to finish, every member of staff are so friendly and happy! from reception, bar, restaurant and cleaners and the animation team are so brilliant with the children, there is so much for them to do at kikoland, we never left our two there but some children that were left you could see were being well looked after, cleaniness is 10/10 as is the food! Our room was cleaned every morning with fresh towels and beds made..not often I go to the same place twice but I think we will be returning here..thank you for a fab stay see you in September

Just back from this hotel. A great hotel for young kids around the age of 3-9. The pros: Very Clean Playpark in the resort (kikoland) Great kids pool Seperate pool for older kids and adults Plenty food choices but it's standard quality ( All inclusive) Plenty drinks options again standard quality ( unless you pay might be different) Kids lived on ice cream, icepops, slushies, chips, pizza, pasta Fresh meat and fish cooked infront of you every night on the grill Friendly staff throughout the hotel Apar**ent good size for 2 adults +2 kids Towels given to you for the pool Bottled water is free when all inclusive Doctor on site 24/7 Entertainment at night is good. Kids disco from 8pm to 8.40 then family entertainment from 9pm until 10.30 Small gym available You can sign your child into kikoland and get a staff member to watch them ( personally I didn't do it as I seen alot of upset smaller children, staff tried their best but language barriers and strange faces to young children is scary.. there really should be a minimum age for this, maybe age 5+) Close to the beach Small free excursions through kikoland on each day Zoo day is available but you must pay for this Cons: The resort is very small outside the hotel, there's very very little to do. There is around 13 bars and restaurants combined. I think it's mostly residents who go here. It's not lined on both sides on the street like other resorts in Spain.

We stayed at the Royal Son Bou family club from May 10th 2024 for 7 nights and it was fab. It was the first time taking our children (4 & 2) abroad and my dad came along with us (mum was supposed to but unfortunately died suddenly 9 weeks prior). We arrived at the hotel early afternoon on the Friday, checkout was smooth and our bags were taken to the room for us. They have little benches at the reception desk which the children can stand on to participate in check-in too which I thought was a great touch 👌 Then to the rooms, the decor is a little dated and it takes a while for the air con to be effective but the fan in the bedroom is good at keeping the room cool, especially if you keep the heavy curtains closed. There’s also a handy kitchenette, fridge, bins and crockery. The bathroom is a great size and the shower is powerful :) we didn’t spend much time in the room as there’s so much to do. Our room was at the bottom of the main ramp to the bar/restaurant/entertainment and was noisy at times, so if you have kids who sleep lightly then I’d recommend not being in A/B block. Especially as on the Friday they had a full brass band. They were kept clean by the lovely staff. There’s 2 great restaurants on site serving lots of different foods and has theme nights. The ‘kids’ theme night was a great hit with our 2 who gorged on hot dogs, burgers and used the chocolate fountain. My husband has several dietary requirements and he could always find something nice to eat. The breakfast has a vast choice from continental foods to pastries, cereal, fruit, full English, multiple juices and amazing coffee. The snack bar is a massive hit for those all-inclusive too and so handy next to the kids pool. There’s 2 pools on site, the kids pool is great, has shallow sloping sides and my 2 year old could stand up everywhere. You can see the kids from all the sun loungers so meant we could relax a little while they played. We only used the bigger pool once which was a lot colder but had a decent shallow bit for children. We went to the beach once, the access road from the hotel is super handy and it’s only a 5 minute walk which is pram friendly. Lovely sand and beautiful turquoise sea with a cafe close by. The kids club, Kikoland was great, there’s so much for the children to do, soft play, colouring, slides, swings, they have a dedicated baby/toddler room and the staff run different games/activities during the day which the kids loved. All the staff are so helpful and incredible with the kids. You can leave your children there, we chose not to but we could sit and watch them explore. They also run little excursions but we didn’t do these. The entertainment was great, the kids entertainment finished at 9ish so a little late for our youngest but our 4 year old had a ball and even entered the talent show! We didn’t use the shop on site, we used the larger supermarket across the road. The staff were incredible, the hotel is really well catered for the children

The motto is "a children's paradise" and they really live up to it. The hotel itself is unbelievably clean, and the facilities are superb. The ban on smoking throughout also really makes a difference compared to other destinations we've been to. The pirate ship is an absolute hit with kids. We managed to spend an entire day just in this pool alone. I highly recommend the pony ride and trogo land to anyone with kids between 2-4 ours waved good bye to the troggs as we left. Finally, and probably most importantly, it's the effort that's put in by all the staff members that really makes this hotel stand out and why I think it garners the reviews it has. Thanks son bou, we miss you already.

We have just returned from a truly wonderful stay at Royal Son Bou. Your every need is catered for from the moment you arrive and nothing is ever too much trouble. The team really go above and beyond to make your holiday experience. There is nothing I could say to take away from this hotel - they are a total class act and we can’t wait to return!

The week we spent here was perfect and we would definitely go back! The hotel truly is made and run with kids at the forefront. When you walk in check in has a little kid step so they can see over the desk, another step by the ice cream, when we go to our room, which was clean and beautiful (block B5 sea view) there were two little bags for the kids with some goodies and they had a gift card from reception for a small gift in kikoland. The bathroom had a smaller sink for the kids to reach as well. Our kids had the twin beds pushed together in the bedroom and we slept in the pull out sofa. We had all inclusive which had a variety of drinks and ice cream/ice lollies. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in both restaurants were lovely and some of the speciality nights were delicious kebab and children (hot dogs and chips). The los Olivos restaurant had lower buffet for kids to help themselves, lots of fresh fruit and desserts at every meal they also offer a little nursery where you can leave 0-4 year olds supervised to play whilst you have food which we used once, and table service for drinks. The beach was a short walk (safe straight to beach) but the sun beds (separate company) are €10 each! Beach was lovely an water clear and not deep for a while due to rocky floor close to hotel side. There are some supermarkets and gift shops around the corner as well. The big pool and kids pool are great but quite cold and you get clean towel from poolside - kids loved the pirate ship slide though. Finally kikoland which was by far the best and biggest kids club/park/activities be ever been to abroad. You can leave your child or you can stay there with them which we did and they can spend hours there he ages are all separate so you don’t get bigger kids knocking the little ones over and everything is constantly manned by the team. We did the pony riding which was a nice addition for no extra charge but register for this as soon as you get there as on the day your child rides as per the list so don’t worry about getting there first! The evening disco was fine for the kids but was late at 8-8:45. Overall we all had a great holiday with no problems and the kids loved every second would highly recommend and will be returning!

This was our first time to the Royal Son Bou Family Club and it did not disappoint. We travelled as a large group of 9: 6 adults, 3 kids aged 5, 2 and 9 months. From the moment we arrived (a quick 20minutes from the airport) we were greeted in a friendly manner by the reception staff. We did arrive before check in time, so only 1 out of our 3 rooms were ready. The 1 room was offered to us to dump bags and freshen up which I was thankful for after travelling with my 9 month old. The receptionist took our phone number and the other 2 rooms were available within an hour or so. The rooms are gorgeous, Spanish style, with a cot and high chair and a baby bath! They were always kept immaculately clean and the wee small touches such as leaving our cot bedsheet from home for our little one and folding her pyjamas. The hotel has such a warm, inviting a**osphere and clearly takes pride in family. There are two pools and we spent majority down at the kiddies pool with the pirate ship due to the ages of the children within our group. Kikoland kids club and area is phenomenal and we visited a couple of times with our 9 month old to play and explore the toys. We didn’t leave our 9 month old (just felt she was a bit too young) but I’d have no doubt regarding the professionalism of the staff and the safety of the children (as well as them having fun) is clearly their priority. The 2 year old and 5 year old had a ball when they attended kids club! We ate mostly at Los Olivos and a big thank you to the staff. Eating with a 9 month old can be challenging with exploring foods, and a lot ending up on the floor rather than in her mouth. But they didn’t hesitate to help or offer purées and there were always plenty smiles and hellos! So thank you! There is a mixture of food with theme nights (I would say don’t be put off by a theme night if you are picky as this is only in a small part of the restaurant). There is plenty of food on offer. Just a small ****** that the wait for grilled meat or fresh pasta could be a bit long during peak times but you would rather wait knowings it’s cooked fresh and properly than have it sitting in a hot plate for god knows how long. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment on offer which was a good variety over the course of the week. Kids disco around 8pm followed by an evening show at 9pm ranging from singers to bingo and acrobats! Thank you to the bar staff during this time too, special shout to Adri who was very attentive to our big group! Son Bou itself is a quiet village with a lovely beach and a few supermarkets and restaurants. We wouldn’t hesitate to return to this hotel, we had an excellent time! Thank you :)

I never usually leave reviews but felt like I needed to review Royal Son Bou after our wonderful holiday. We have just returned home from our first holiday together as a family and wow what an experience it was by staying at Royal Son Bou! We were both apprehensive about travelling abroad with our 8 month baby but we needn’t have been- the staff at Royal Son Bou couldn’t have made it a more special and memorable trip. The hotel itself and the location are wonderful and perfect for what we needed. We stayed in a lovely, sea view apar**ent which had everything we needed including high chair, baby bath and travel cot and it was a very easy, accessible walk to the beach and close to both pools. The fact you can order baby purées in the restaurant also made our holiday a lot easier! The staff are really what makes this hotel extra special. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and kind. Everyone took the time to say hello and really made our baby feel special with so many kind words and smiles. Everyone we came across was wonderful, but a special mention has to be made to Paqui and Jorge in the restaurant who really made our little girls’ first holiday extra special with their kindness and caring ways. We have never revisited a holiday destination before, but we would definitely love to return to Royal Son Bou. Thank you for an unforgettable holiday experience for our family.

We had great time at Royal Son Bou. Comfortable rooms, lots of activities for kids all ages and food was nice and plenty of. We particularly enjoyed the beach, which is short walking distance from the hotel, beautiful sand and clear water and so warm. We recommend this hotel to families with kids.
