My go to hotel in Shantou. An older hotel that is ageing gracefully. Great location, friendly service, lovely rooms and car parking

Hotel was previously known as Meritus, location is near 2 shopping complexes just a short 10 min walk away, only sad thing is furniture look a little tired after years without major renovation, breakfast is ok with lot of choices catering to both locals & foreigners.

The impression was we booked 4 rooms and we got all on the same floor, adjacent to one another. The twin room bed was 4 ft size - loved it. The location was perfect, close to two shopping malls and lots of restaurants nearby. The gym and swimming pool were great too. The minus was only the air conditioner was not sufficiently cool in some of our rooms, and it couldn't go colder even we adjusted the lowest temperature.

We highly recommend Shantou International Hotel. The hotel room is very spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel room has all the modern and necessary amenities. No need to bring adaptor and there is plenty USB ports. The hotel itself has many restaurants providing quality and variety. We dine at the Taichi dim sum restaurant...very nice. Hotel is 15mins from Shantou Railway station, making it convenient for those coming from high speed rail. It is within walking distance from Longyan food street and major shopping centres ie Mixc and Sunning. It is also near to tourist attractions. Most of all, we are so impressed with the staff. They are professional, proactive, helpful and warm. This is consistent throughout all levels of the staff. The reception staff even come out of the counter to help us with the Alipay app. Shantou has no subway so very important to be able to use the app to hail taxi. Thank you Shantou international hotel and especially its staff, for making our stay so comfortable and memorable 😀

Hotel is good with the location around 40min from downtown. Room was clean and spacious, we really liked it. Its very clean with decent breakfast. Amenities are bit outdated, like swimming pool. There are many outside guests using hotel's resources... The last thing to mention is the staff which was really great, from guards, front office, housekeeping or waiters everyone was very kind and trying to make your stay great...

Stayed for 5 nights. Hotel room is spacious and clean. If you want to stay in non smoking room, can request for floor# 15. The only slightly bad point their breakfast. They were serving the same variety throughout my 5 nights days which was kind of boring for me.

As soon as you enter the hotel lobby, there is a light scent of aromatherapy, which smells good. Thanks to Ms. Lin at the front desk for enthusiastically helping us upgrade to a deluxe room for free. The service was particularly good. Ms. Huang at the front desk also introduced us to local snacks and attractions. The room was luxurious, large and quiet. It was a very comfortable stay. Overall very satisfied... worth recommending

Great hotel, both the facilities and the professionalism of the staff, is to be praised. Services at the front desk reception is excellent and the staff are attentive and strike to provide extra assistances to guest such as helping us to purchase a traditional gift from the local market and booking taxi for ud to the rail station upon check out. Services at the breakfast area can be improved to be more polite and attentive with smiles to match the front desk. Smiling and attentiveness will bring the hotel quality to the next level of a 5 star boutique hotel.

The accommodation and service are excellent. The hotel is converted from an ancient building, and the decoration design is very attentive. The room type has been upgraded, with a bathtub with a street view, and the small park Zhongshan Pavilion downstairs from the balcony. Although it was crowded and noisy, I also listened to a very nice live Cantonese song show for one night. It was very quiet after 10 o'clock, and it did not affect my normal rest at all. Service: The whole process from confirming the arrival at the store to being sent to the train station was very good. Breakfast is worth recommending. The only thing that can be picked out is that the afternoon tea service is not in place. It took nearly 40 minutes to prepare the meal and did not give a glass of water first. There were no tableware or paper towels when the meal was served. Compared with the breakfast service, it is really too much worse. Facilities: There are design details everywhere, a paradise for photographers. I must praise the air conditioning in the room. There is no sound at all, which is extremely friendly to light sleepers.
