Our stay was pleasant and most of the staff were very helpful & friendly. They will greet us whenever we walked pass. Too bad we did not have the chance to enjoy the facilities and dine in the hotel. One feedback I had was during our check-in day on 28 Feb 2024. We were not sure if we had arrived at the right hotel as we do not know the hotel's Chinese name. It was raining and I wanted to alight & make a quick check with an older porter at the hotel entrance/drop-off point. When I asked the older porter ”这里是不是 Okura Garden Hotel?” He just brushed me aside and said ”不知道!”. In the end I had to dashed into the hotel lobby and reconfirmed with the reception on duty. Understand that English may not be a common language for the hotel staff especially the older ones. But won't it make a great difference if the staff at least knows the English name of the hotel that they are working for?

The building is very special, it’s obviously got character but well the inside is very dated, some of the fixtures are not very well detailed for example the shower has some screws coming off and well it’s an old building so it’s understandable, the breakfast was good so was the coffee but half of the staff was friendly and half was a bit careless. It was a good experience.

Could see the hotel's basically remants of some classy types in the past (the building and bathroom etc.) but not sure re value for money/friendlieness, was given a room on the first floor (cathay gardens, or the low south building) with view completely blocked by walls. Staff in reception/cafeteria all very businesslike. To be fair it might have felt a harsh contrast coz visited after disneyland. Still, would try tower or other nearby hotels if visiting shanghai next time

A lovely hotel with a rich historical ambiance, and the room size was amazing, exceeding my expectations. The ground-floor restaurant was very convenient, but there are several restaurants and pubs nearby offering plenty of alternative options. However, I decided to try the traditional Shanghai cuisine in the hotel and had a meal there. The food tasted good, although it was a bit pricey. The surrounding area was pleasant, perfect for a relaxing stroll that kept me in a pleasant mood.

Location is not bad not perfect too. If you primarily move by Metro the Station South Shaanxi Road is 750m away what is a liitle anoying when you have to walk it a lot of times.. You can take one of the rental bike which are in big numbers at the station and in front of the hotel as well. Oppsite to the hotel there a s small mini.market where you get a lot of things like beverages, snacks and so on like you find in any mini-market. Stuff is friendly, but if you need english then this is quite limited except of the upper management. Breakfast is good. I had an executive room on 24th floor. The room was goog in any way. If there is a complaint then only regarding the ”executive lounge”, which basically does not exist. There are to standard hotel rooms with a connectiong door where some tables, chairs and sofas are placed. More or less nothing mentionable offered there, except for some very basic packages of snacks which you wuld get in the minimarket for a few RNB. So the executive lounge is definitly NO REASON to book an executive room! But all in all except of this executive lounge topic, which feels a little bit like a rip-off, the hotel is fine and recommendable.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to go out for the night in Found 158. The hotel is only up the road from an abundance of small and beautiful shops. Checking in was faster than at other hotels with no extra unnecessary questions. The decor is a little old but that has no affect on anything but aesthetics. I had two issues however. The only mirror available was in the bathroom where there are no useable plug points for appliances. It was a fun little mission to straighten my hair in the reflection of the mirror.

I am going to always stay at this hotel. It’s old but in a good way, cosy old and good-looking. The service is superb and they speak English. The only small disadvantage is that they don’t have enough drinking water in the room but saying than they always gave me extra bottles with no problem. And also 300 rmb deposit, which was also never a big problem, seems like a bit of an archaic habit.

I have stayed at Youxi Movie Hotel at 242 Ju Lu Road, Shanghai, China about three and half weeks from 13th November to 5th December. I had a wonderful time there. It located at the central Shanghai and is close to many entertainment centres and tourist attractions and shopping centra. The staffs at Youxi Movie Hotel were very helpful and friendly and the service is excellent. It was very surprise to me that my room is very quiet at night and you can watch a film on the wall while you are in the bed. My room is quite big so once I had my friends came over to watch the movie and chatter. And this hotel is quite new and the my room is very clean too.

Take your children to experience the old Shikumen The B&B is consistent with the pictures, and the decoration is very beautiful. The flowers are very fresh. It can be seen that the rooms are well maintained and taken care of. If there is anything missing, the boss will reply immediately and answer all questions. It is really good. The B&B is in a busy area, and there are many delicious takeaways around! ! ! The boss is very nice, he takes good care of everything and explains the precautions very carefully🤓 The only downside is that it’s a bit noisy upstairs, and it’s best to ask the aunt to mop the floor. Chose this beautiful house to reunite with my family during the holidays. The warm interior decoration and the environment of an old alley are very atmospheric and everyone likes it. The location is convenient and there are many dining options around. The service is also very good. If there is a problem, the landlord always responds quickly to help solve it. If the wireless network could be stronger, it would be even better if everyone could eat, drink and watch TV without lagging🤭
