J Hotel Shanghai Tower

Thank you to the JHotel staff and especially to our Butler Ms. Joyce! The team really went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, including helping us with fixing our toddler’s toy and blowing up balloons. The Yi Lounge offered delightful afternoon tea with happy hour; and, even a “magic show” from the staff for our kid at the bar. The hotel design is exquisite; contemporary, bright, and equal parts sophisticated and cheerful. Centouno and Heavenly Jin restaurants provided excellent service along with delectable, aesthetically pleasing gastronomic creations. We greatly appreciate your hospitality toward families with young children, especially our rambunctious one who’s rather destructive. We’ll certainly be back to celebrate special occasions!

This hotel offers a luxurious experience, with spacious, well-appointed suites and thoughtful amenities. The food is excellent, and the afternoon tea provides a generous selection. However, the building's design limits natural light and views from the rooms. While the staff is well-trained, English proficiency is limited beyond the front desk. The pool and gym are small but functional. Complimentary minibar items are a nice touch, though hard liquor is excluded. Overall, it's a high-end stay, but given the price, one might expect slightly more.

Mr. Liu Hai's insightful commentary on the hotel's art collection enhanced our stay, deepening our cultural experience. On the third day of our journey, we had initially planned to move to another luxury hotel on the Bund. However, we were dissuaded by the service there. Eventually, at half past eleven that same night, we happily returned to J Hotel to continue our stay. We are delighted that domestic hotels can achieve such high standards of service. We are grateful to Butler George, Miss Sia, Mr. Liu Hai, and the entire staff for making our time here truly memorable.
