Big bed and comfortable large room with bad odorants, gentle staff, I stayed blocked in the lift, the room was repaired after 3 days was a suite. Good breakfast. The hotel is wonderful as a structure but it is completely out of service, it seems they are waiting for a new buyer to rebuild it all. The kitchen is abandoned, use only for breakfast, restaurant with spectacular room and panoramic terrace almost abandoned to the spot. Bars not available , they put a free 24-hour coffee machine in the lobby .... Very serious that they forced me to pay 8 nights immediately with credit card before seeing the room, In fact, after 2 days I would have left but they would not have paid back ....... No hotel in my life has asked me for an advance payment at Check-in for 8 nights, it can happen for one night. I advise not to go if it is not restructured.

Feels like a Five Star Hotel. Fabulous rooms. Clean Comfortable and Modern. €45 for a single great value. Was given a free upgrade and a drink at the bar FOC. Reception staff awesome. Would highly recommend. I never want to leave! Easy walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets.

Enjoyed 8 days at Hotel Do Mar. Its a minute from the beautiful clean sandy beach. The 70's styled hotel is built into the steep hillside. Access to the floors is therefore split between separate lifts at about floor 5. We found our rooms comfortable with good aircon. The rooms have a cottage style with dark wood windows, blinds, doors and cupboards The en-suite facilities looked relatively new and all functioned well. We found the hotel staff helpful and attentive. Covid rules were being carefully followed and the place was spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast room and bar enjoy stunning views across the bay. The hotel garden has mature trees and lawn areas. The pool was clean and well maintained; plenty of sunbeds available. For families there are about 20 steps from the lower lift to the beach. The seafront is mainly pedestrian and level. Sesimbra is a quiet village. Aside from the excellent beach it has a working fishing harbour and the local restaurants have the freshest fish. This was a new find for us. Its about 35 minutes from Lisbon. There are some bus services from Sesimbra, but a car will be required to tour the area.

We stayed for 5 nights and found that the hotel was not at a 4 star rating standard. Good points: - We had a great view of the beach from our room - 2 min walk to beach Bad points: - a general lack of enthusiasm and purpose from staff at hotel. We found ourselves constantly waiting for things and would find out key information about the facilities as our stay rolled on. There was always lots of staff on reception but no one was doing anything. - They will nickel and dime you for everything, even the coffee capsule in your room! - large bed but uncomfortable - The hotel is stuck in a kind of early 2000’s time warp. I’m sure it was great back in the day but has fallen into disrepair. - shower and bathroom not cleaned to a high enough standard, mould visible. - breakfast was basic and not at a 4 star standard, eggs tasted like flour and bacon was processed. Sesimbra is a beautiful destination and if we had our time over again, we’d stay further down the beach at another hotel or Air B&B. You’re effectively paying for the view at this place but that’s about it.

The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are very clean and well furnished. The staff does a very good work: always available, and welling to provide the best service. The restaurant À La Carte is very good. Thé location is perfect very close to the beach and the marina.

Location is wonderful, and so is the whole building and surroundings. But comparing price/quality there is really something missing. We spent 3 nights in weekend High season, but there was no management at all.We had to wait more than 3 hours before we could have our room, although we send a mail to ask for an earlier check in than 16.00. Not possible, we have to waited till 16.15 . We have been in many 5 stars places all over the world, but never had this situation. Thanks to Mr Joao de Sousa we we're calm down. He treated and helped us later with everything, and that made our stay good. Our superior terras room was located perfect, clean and cool, but the decoration is for that price some dated. The bathroom very small and not really comfortable. In the adults pool only three umbrellas, to protect all the guests from the sun. sunbeds we're not very clean, and the pool towels, is really not done, in a 5 star Hotel member of the Leading hotels of the world. The quality of the breakfast was 3 stars, only 2 sorts of unripe fruit, and no fresh bread at all. We have had diner several times, at the fantastic Terras outside, but please put mores covering to protect people for the extreme sunburning. quality of the food was good, specially my fish was perfect prepared, and again I say, the very kind service of Mr Joao, David, and several other members of the restaurant was really touching. They did their job more than fantastic. So overall, the place has so many strong assets, location, building, history, surroundings, but some for us important details we're missing, and the feeling that there was no management to talk with, but the location is Portugal on it's best! Spectacular view , spacious and beautiful house .

We were quite disappointed about the experience, all was ok but nothing was quite right Check in : the desk can’t cope with the number of people at the time , as usually are families the situation gets quite noise , large and tedious, be prepare to access any time after 16,30..... Bed mattress need to be replaced, the have a long live Bathroom is a mystery how to get out hold the bath not having to jump over the vanities !! Location and view is a plus , if you book for sea apartment view !’ As mentioned , quite basic , under expectations for sure !!
