Karidis Hotel

Great spot by bars cafes shops restaurants but goes quiet around midnight so not noisy. Shade by the pool and full sun if you want. Friendly reception staff. Can have breakfast outside the hotel on the front. Lovely hot showers comfy beds.

The Karidis Hotel is a cozy spot, in the lovely beachside village of Kamari amongst and situated just a few blocks from the beach. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms bathrooms are small by North American standards but it is charming nonetheless. There are a wide selection of restaurants just a few steps from the door and small grocery stores to pick up snacks, beverages and groceries if you want to pack a lunch for a day at the beach. It is about a 15 minute walk to the inter-city bus station where you can grab a bus to Fira for 1.6 euros or another town on the island.

We loved Kamari and the Karadis Hotel is perfectly situated 2 mins walk away from the front. There's free aircon, free WiFi and free safe - often extra cost at this price point so factor this in for any alternatives. It has a cosy pool and excellent basic breakfasts. The staff are exceptionally friendly and rooms spotless. Our room had a silent (non-compressor) fridge in the room. On the downside, we found the sea view rooms aren't the best and on the ground floor the poolside loungers were too close to some room terraces (for us non-poolside people). Also, the bathrooms aren't the best. Kamari beach is shingle as you approach the sea and still shingle when I was out of my depth at 20 feet from the shore so possibly not the best for young children. However, it was beautifully clear. Given that Karidis was the best value hotel in Kamari that offered breakfast, we were delighted. TUI description of small and friendly is perfect. We found eating out in Kamari more expensive than other Greek islands but likely cheap by Santorini standards. Tips: Restaurants on the front are not necessarily the best. Make sure to try Captains Corner and Sellada opposite the hotel. Love Boat (TUI meeting place) is an excellent bar with good prices and excellent local wine. A sailboat ride around the Caldera is a must. Conclusion: Karadis hotel is a perfect way to visit Santorini. You can pay twice as much to visit adjacent hotels in Kamari, but I doubt you'd beat Karidis for value. When we go back to this beautiful island, we'll be going to Kamari and staying there for sure.

This hotel was fantastic value for money. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the place was unbelievable clean. The staff work so hard all day cleaning rooms to a high standard and also cleaning balconies, sun beds and places that sometimes get missed. The breakfast was very nice and sufficient. The pool was small but peaceful and adequate. Often we felt like we had our own villa as it was quiet. The wifi was free and brilliant and reached the pool area and the rooms had good air conditioning and a small fridge all included in the price. All in all a great holiday.

Beautiful small,clean friendly hotel located in Kamari. Staff extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. Perfect location close to beach, shops, supermarkets &restaurants. Would definitely stay here again

Just had a wonderful 10 days in Kamari staying in this lovely family run hotel with hubby and teenage daughter in a triple room. Very convenient to everything. Friendly efficient staff. Rooms cleaned daily - quite compact but with everything you need. Family oriented. Thanks for special memories of our first time in Santorini.

Room R21. In the basement. Beautiful modern, clean room, outside area faces a wall. Not a problem because the the room is far nicer than the upper rooms with balconies. The shower is a bit of a battle with the curtain, we did have a giggle about it though.pool nice. The beach ,shops, and bars are a 5 minute walk. Staff are lovely If you want traditional Greek food/ experience, the taverna sellada straight opposite is a must. Lovely family run ,Demetrios is an excellent host. Don’t get ripped off with sun beds on beach. The love boat lets you buy a drink then you can sun all day. Take your beach shoes though the sea is rocky going in. The sun set cruise is well worth a visit. All in all had a fabulous time

Very nice hotel. Room was basic but had good AC and a small fridge. Also a kettle. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Room cleaned everyday. Nice staff and a great breakfast in the mornings. Pool was lovely. Very close to the beach & shops & restaurants. Would recommend.

A rustic hotel style but very friendly staff and receptionist and she carried cases up and hugs when we left. 🧚🏽‍♀️ Great position for all the restaurants nearby. Breakfasts fine for what you need to start the day. Very strong coffee though. Shower a little small and shower curtain sticks to you when using the shower. But it had all shower cream and shampoo etc. Nice and clean and lots of regular change of towels.
