Elda Guesthouse

Very close to Lake Mi, the facilities are generally simple, the room size is small, the room has three single beds, three bedside tables, one table, two chairs, one pool, nothing more. The kitchen and bathroom are shared and slightly inconvenient. The kitchen has shared kitchen utensils and cutlery. The cooktop is small and can only be cooked for one time. The breakfast at the hotel is very good for several varieties. Compared to other parts of Iceland, the price of this hotel is high (scenic price), but the accommodation service provided is too general (farm level). In addition, there are many black flying insects in the area around Mihu in summer, and the face is rushing to the body. It feels very bad. Now I think of goose bumps. Summer travel is not recommended to live near Mihu, which is very expensive. Not comfortable.

Located off Hwy 1 about 60 kilometers from lake Myvatn is a good guesthouse. You check in at one place, but you maybe staying at a complex about 6 kilometers away. The rooms are good sized and have private baths. Also much cheaper than in the Lake Myvatn area. The owner is helpful. At the complex where I stayed there is a good communal kitchen and meeting room. Contrary to Booking's statement, there is a breakfast option which is good at an additional cost. It is a lonely outpost on the long barren stretch of Hwy 1 headed east from Lake Myvatn. It is convenient to Dettifoss.

We spent three incredible days in the hotel and everything we found there was created to make our trip as incredible, surprising and as pleasant as possible! The hotel is located in a perfect location and the entire structure is designed for the comfort and pleasure of its guests. The suites are wonderful and perfect for enjoying this winter paradise. Our room was luxurious, super spacious and comfortable. Super well planned for the best comfort. The staff were fantastic. At all times they were super friendly, discreet, but managed to anticipate our needs. We spent our days relaxing by the hot tub and enjoying the wonderful sunsets from our window. A beautiful and comfortable place with a fantastic staff. We can't wait to go back!

We have been sleeping in a small bungalow with private bathroom and a small outdoor area with table and chairs. A room of about 15 mq is simple but clean and comfortable (much more than other places where we stayed), with a wide glass on the beautiful lava fields. Good cleaning, comfortable beds, well-functioning and self-regulable heating, hairdryers (rare in Iceland). Breakfast is very diverse and with good sweet and salty products: also the excellent local smoked salmon, soda eggs, cheese, pig, salad, tomatoes, 3 yoghurt, cereals, 3 marmelades, varied bread, nutella, cookies, small croissant, etc. We liked it very much and we were really good! Sorry for the price too expensive (Euro 180 per night).
