Casa Hotel Las Plazas

What a wonderful hotel! We loved our visits here at the beginning, middle and end of our tour of Ecuador. This is a family run hotel and we were made feel very welcome by Lucia, her husband and her son. We stayed in 3 different rooms and each one was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with varied juices, fruits and eggs. Everything prepared fresh and served by the friendly team. The location is absolutely perfect as it is literally just a few minutes walk to the main square of the city. We would have no hesitation recommending this charming hotel to others.

Lucia, the owner, is very kind and her and her husband run a nice establishment. They helped me get a new pillow when I needed and shared a lot about the indigenous culture of Ecuador.

This was an excellent experience. Lucia and staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. My room was spacious and clean. I had an excellent night’s sleep. I was provided with an exceptional breakfast of local fruit and other treats with explanations from Lucia who taught me to respond in Spanish. Absolutely lovely place...the building is beautiful, full of local art and history. The rooms are large and comfortable. Very clean. The area is very busy during the day and quiet at night. The location is great for walking, lots of sites to see and places to eat nearby. Great recommendations from the owner. The hotel arranged our transportation from the airport and back a few days later...much easier than negotiating with a cab and a reasonable price. The breakfast is filling with fresh fruit juice and in-house made jam every day! This was a perfect base to explore Quito's historic centre.

We absolutely loved this small, quaint hotel. It was centrally located - close to many of the top things to see/do (plazas, churches, restaurants, shopping) so very convenient. The rooms were cute and clean, beds were comfy, the interior lounge areas were bright and full of authentic architecture and decor, the breakfasts were tasty and the hot coffee was wonderful. But what makes this hotel stand out from others is the family who runs it. They were AMAZING. First of all, how wonderful is it to have a hotel run by a friendly, welcoming family?! They were so thoughtful in everything we could need or want - arranging transport to and from the airport, taxis for our sightseeing, suggestions for day trips and tour companies, recommendations and reservations for awesome restaurants and arrangements for oddities like finding a rock climbing gym for my kids. Luis, the adult son who runs the front desk, speaks English (so helpful!) and Lucia, the mom, taught us some interesting facts about the local fruit served with breakfast and helped us dust off our Spanish. Seriously felt like we were staying with extended family (in all the best ways). :-) We would stay here again for sure, and so glad we didn't stay in one of the big cookie-cutter brand name hotels. What Casa Hotel Las Plazas provides visitors is a unique and very special experience. Definitely made our Quito trip memorable.

This is a great boutique hotel with a friendly, caring and helpful staff. They arranged for airport transfer late at night and made helpful recommendations. It is right in the heart of the historic center and easily walkable to most places. The breakfast was very good and the staff really wanted to help us learn more about their food and the country. The property is in a charming old building. It’s a little worn in a few places but very clean. Great stay in beautiful Quito.
