As soon as our car pulled up to the hotel entrance, a front office staff member proactively approached to guide us, thoughtfully directing us to the lobby for check-in. Stepping into the lobby and approaching the reception area, the staff members were consistently warm and friendly in their tone, providing genuine and sincere service, completely devoid of any robotic, impersonal feel. The check-in process was highly efficient and streamlined. During the process, they took the initiative to meticulously explain all key information, including suite privileges, important notes on using the room key card, opening hours for hotel facilities, and 24-hour service contact details. Everything was explained clearly and comprehensively, saving guests the trouble of having to ask individual questions. As it was my first time visiting Qingdao, I wasn't very familiar with the city's attractions or unique touring routes. Initially, I just planned to quickly check in and head to my room to rest. However, the front office staff attentively noticed my travel needs and, combining them with my preferences, patiently shared recommendations for local hotspots, the best times for scenic views, and reliable tour route planning. They thoughtfully helped me avoid crowded areas and proactively identified potential needs I hadn't even voiced, offering personalized suggestions. Their response time was incredibly fast; there was never any delay, perfunctory response, or passive feedback. My overall experience at this Westin hotel was very poor! During breakfast, the mug looked fine from the outside, but the handle was broken. The moment I picked it up, I felt a sharp pain in my finger; I was pricked by a hidden piece of broken ceramic and started bleeding. I immediately found a waiter, who seemed at a loss, and then went to notify the manager. It took a long time for the manager to arrive. I asked the manager to help me with a simple bandage, after which he brought supplies to treat my wound and even offered me a sandwich. As I had a train to catch that day and was short on time, I had to rush to check out and didn't pursue the matter further on the spot. That afternoon, after checking out, I received a callback from the hotel. I truthfully recounted what had happened. They informed me that the manager on duty would follow up the next day, but to my surprise, the matter was pushed back to the restaurant manager, showing a lack of accountability. The restaurant manager offered a complimentary meal on my next visit to Qingdao as a gesture of appeasement, but after this incident, I would not consider staying there again. During our communication, it was repeatedly mentioned that my booking was through Trip.com. When checking in, I was also told that Trip.com bookings could not enjoy member benefits, which I can understand, but the room type I wanted was only available on Trip.com. Anyway, my stay felt like they were saying, 'What do you expect when you book through Trip.com?' – a humble Trip.com member. But only Trip.com had this room type; other platforms didn't. Fortunately, it was me who got injured. If it had been an elderly person or a child, the consequences of a sharp ceramic shard are unimaginable. For a five-star Westin, a safety hazard like injuring a guest with tableware is simply unacceptable. There were also issues with the room's hardware. The toilet made an odd noise after flushing, especially noticeable at night, and there was a strange odor lingering in the public corridor. The front desk staff seemed unwell and spoke weakly. I myself am a Marriott member, and paying the same amount for a stay, just because I booked through Trip.com, should not result in such a perfunctory attitude. The room rate was not cheap. I hope the hotel performs thorough safety checks on its tableware, repairs room equipment, improves the environment in public areas, and enhances service details. I also humbly request that guests not be treated differently; guests who book through Trip.com are still members and paying customers.

The room wasn't particularly spacious, but the bed was comfortable, and the view was great. We were able to get a late checkout and use the executive lounge, where the service was quite efficient. I've visited Shandong so many times, and honestly, this is worse than a guesthouse! If I hadn't failed to book Haitian, I swear I'd rather sleep in my car! Everything except water was charged for!!! They charged 18 yuan for a small bag of children's potato chips and M&M's! Are they that desperate for money? And the underground parking is in a corner of the fourth basement level! It stinks and is incredibly hard to find! So don't believe any of those good reviews, they're definitely written by people trying to appease the hotel! I didn't bother complaining to the hotel because I know what kind of reception I'd get, so I just waited to write this review! Has the money been embezzled? Why don't they upgrade the facilities and improve their service??

It's very easy to access MixC Mall directly via an underground passage for dining. May Fourth Square and the beach are within walking distance. 2. **Outstanding Housekeeping**: The housekeeper on our floor during our 4-night, 5-day stay was incredibly warm, attentive, and thoughtful! Seeing that we had both elderly and children, she provided us with ample bottled water every day. After I mentioned how inconvenient it was to only have tissue paper in the bathroom sink area in such a large room, she brought us two extra packs of portable tissues for easy access. Her service attitude truly deserves a thumbs up! 👍 Now, let's get to the serious cons: 1. **Mismatched Hardware for the Price**: The room's hardware facilities are completely inadequate for this price point! Not only is the toilet not smart, but it doesn't even have a soft-close lid? My child would use the restroom half-asleep at night, and it would bang loudly. What they call a 'family suite' is essentially just a room with an extra bed. The pillows were also uncomfortable (here, I have to praise the housekeeper again! I complained to her about the pillows and asked for a buckwheat pillow. She said they were fully booked but would keep an eye out for one, and she brought me one the very next day! Thank you!). The toiletries appeared to be of low quality; most notably, my hair felt noticeably dry even after using conditioner. The hairdryer was also ineffective, with low airflow in cold mode. 2. **Subpar Front Desk and Breakfast Service for the Price**: Our room included two breakfast servings. On the first day, dining was smooth; we just swiped our room card. For the third person in my room, we paid 100 yuan for a guest breakfast. The next day, when we went down, the person at the card-swiping station at the restaurant entrance actually told me that the room only included one breakfast?! I said, 'How is that possible?' She even told me to go to the front desk to ask myself! Finally, after my repeated insistence, she took out the notebook that was right in front of her to check and then told me that it was indeed two breakfasts??!!! At that moment, I really wanted to swear (but I held back). What kind of service is this? Furthermore, there's no comparison, no harm done. Whether it was previous stays at InterContinental, Hilton, or Sheraton, if our family of 5 stayed in two rooms for three or four days or more (with two breakfasts included per room), the hotels would usually directly provide an extra breakfast without requiring a separate purchase. Of course, after spending tens of thousands on accommodation, a few hundred yuan for breakfast isn't a big deal. I'm bringing this up just to highlight an issue with the hotel's service awareness.

The hotel's location is excellent, with direct subway access, and close to MixC Mall and May Fourth Square. In the evening, you can stroll to the Olympic Sailing Center by the sea for a refreshing breeze. The dinner buffet was also quite varied, and Kimi provided good service!
