We took our motorcycle over to Port Alberni for a day trip from Parksville. Before we could return, the only road in was closed due to a wildfire. As a result we were stranded in Port Alberni indefinitely. Fortunately we were lucky to get a room at the Best Western Plus Barclay. The hotel was clean, quiet, and obviously very well run. The entire staff went over and above expectations to ease a difficult situation for us. The front desk staff in particular was exceptional, even arranging a ride back to Parksville for us and helping us put our motorcycle in storage until we can retrieve it. With your stay, a 20% discount is available for breakfast in the restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Our room was clean and quiet, very comfortable and included a small fridge and microwave. The TV had a very wide choice of channels - more than any other hotel we have been to - so we had lots of programs available to watch. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through the area.

I visited this motel in the winter. The oustside looked a little tired but it was a gloomy day. The reception area is nice and cozy with a sitting area in front of a warming fireplace. The reception staff was friendly and courteous. They let me check in early with no hassle. They also printed something for me, no hassle, no charge. The room was up to date and clean. I was somewhat impressed. The property has an indoor pool which I didn't use, but heard kids going down the hall to enjoy it. Quite enjoyed my stay.

The entire staff went over and above expectations to ease a difficult situation for us. The front desk staff in particular was exceptional, even arranging a ride back to Parksville for us and helping us put our motorcycle in storage until we can retrieve it. With your stay, a 20% discount is available for breakfast in the restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Our room was clean and quiet, very comfortable and included a small fridge and microwave. The TV had a very wide choice of channels - more than any other hotel we have been to - so we had lots of programs available to watch. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through the area.
