Erik's Ranch

The location and view do not get any more quintessentially Montana than Erik's ranch. The property is stunning, has excellent facilities and is meticulously maintained. I had originally wanted to do their 2.5 hour trail flower ride but it booked up before I had the chance to reserve so I ended up booking just the hour 'trail ride'. It was really nice that all the horses were saddled and ready to go when we arrived. They were careful to pair us with a horse that matched each of our skills and temperament. The 'trail ride' was beautiful ride up a small mountain if you will and then back down through a little valley to the stable. It was pretty short but for $50/person, I honestly did not expect more. It was a great price point to experience the horses and see the stunning views from a 360 perspective for an hour. Pro tip: Book early for the longer ride!

We stayed in the Cargill-Earl Guest house. It was just as described on the Netflix show Amazing Vacation Rentals. I can't begin to adequately describe the view....let's just say it was breath-taking. We didn't have to do any additional paperwork to check-in which was a plus. We just needed staff to show us to the guest house. When we got there we were greeted by and introduced to several staff members including Catherine, Erik, Chelsey and Jo which really made us feel welcome. Everyone was so warm and friendly. There was wood for the fireplace and since we had a fire most of the time we were there we burnt it up and bought more which the staff delivered to us. The guest house is primarily powered by solar with a back-up generator so it may be slow to heat up but it will!!! The concrete floors are heated which was another plus. There is a coffee maker, some seasonings and dishes so don't forget to bring your own coffee and creamer. The only disappoin**ent (for my daughter only) was that we didn't see a bear. LOL All in all it was a wonderful experience that I would do again. Thanks to the staff for making our visit so pleasant!!!

We were so happy with the quiet cabin with the beautiful views. Easy access to town and wilderness all around.

The property was amazing, staff was not bothersome and let you be. We did not have to contact them for any issues. I would assume they would be very good about fixing the problems promptly. The roads in the area are dirt and often times wet and steeped. 4x4 or AWD is probably recommended to get in and out, especially during wet/snow seasons. All in all, excelet vacation in the mountains. I have no complaints, the roads are no worse than i had expected, just wanted to note for future customers to be advised.

The people that work here are extremely helpful and amazing! The property is absolutely beautiful!

The cabin was adorable with a great kitchen and bathroom. Directions were a little confusing coming from Livingston but great coming from Bozeman. The after hours number was not answered so I had to wait until the next day to get the WiFi password.

Amazing location and very convenient to get to town.
