Location to main square excellent. Historical theme very nice. Breakfast in cafe lovely. Amenities including fruit basket top notch. Shower large walk in. Bed comfy. Unfortunately, our room 2 in the front was noisy all night with the tram. Even ear plugs not enough to keep the loud rumble and loud people on the Main Street into the wee hours.

Olomouc the City and Miss Sophie's was a welcome relief after the mass of humanity experienced in Praha over Christmas. The rooms of this historic building (dating back to the 14 Century) are large and well featured, massive comfortable bed, nice bathrooms and everything you would expect in a modern 3/4 star hotel. The included breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was very good (especially the omelette). The only negative for some is there is no lift so you will need to carry your luggage up to your room via a narrow, ancient staircase.

My two nights at Miss Sophie's in Olomouc was in the middle of six weeks away, involving eight or nine hotels. Miss Sophie's was way up the top. Where to start? The warmth of all the staff, mostly young people. The location, right on a tramline from the main station and a few minutes from the central historic squares. The rooms - my room had a view onto the street. The owners have done a fabulous job converting the old building into a hotel, with wonderfully inventive use of old building materials eg the tiles in the bathroom. The cafe / drinks area at the rear of the ground level became a favourite place in Olomouc. This room, which is used for breakfast, is open late and attracts a range of people who clearly love the ambience and friendly welcome from the staff. I strongly recommend Olomouc eg the bishop's palace is now an astonishing museum and suggest you stay at Miss Sophie's. I will be looking into the hotels this small boutique chain operates in other cities when I'm planning my next trip to Europe.

I have been a regular guest at Miss Sophie's Downtown in Prague for almost two years now. Indeed, it is the only hotel I ever stay at in that city, unless it is fully booked. So I was curious to see how the Olomouc branch compares with it Let me start by saying they are quite different. What they have in common is the very friendly and helpful staff. In Prague they are from many different nations and the lingua franca is English, whereas in Olomouc I had the impression that they were all Czechs, which was good for me as I am learning Czech and was able to practise speaking it with them at reception and breakfast. Needless to say they all speak excellent English for those who are not so mad as to try learning Czech. The room (no 2) was on the firsr floor and was perfectly acceptable, perhaps trying a little too hard to be "boutique" style. To be honest i prefer the rooms in Prague. The (walk-in) shower appeared to have been hewn out of rock in the wall but performed its function spendidly. The main problem (for me at least) was the noise from the trams passing by outside every few minutes (except for a few hours in the dead of night). Light sleepers be warned. Try and get a room on the other side. I appreciate that it might not be problem for most people, but I'm afraid I need absolute quiet at night. There is no lift (I knew about this beforehand), but one of the kind young ladies from reception carried my very heavy case up the stairs (I am 66 and have weak arms). I didn't catch her name but thank you whoever you are. It is probably neither feasible nor permissible to install a lift. Breakfast was OK but it is not a self-service, all-you-can-eat buffet like in Prague, So only 4 stars. I would definitely stay here again were I ever to return to Olomouc. The location is ideal, right in the centre and 5 minutes by tram from the railway station. But I would have to have a room away from the street.

We stayed in the apartment - simple yet very comfortable. Two rooms with a small balcony in between, one bathroom. Great location - right in the town. Located above a cafe - open until late. Breakfast was disappointing, not a great range of options - opted out of that.

I like to stay in interesting buildings when I travel and this was one of my very best experiences ever. A wonderful conversion with lots of very cool ideas, as well as being very comfortable. The hotel is combined with the cafe downstairs, so the staff there act as the reception. Everyone I spoke to was charming and very helpful. Breakfast in the cafe (included in the price) was really good. I do suggest reading the descriptions carefully - my lovely quirky attic room was up four flights of steep stairs and had skylights rather than a window - exactly as one might expect in an attic and not a problem for me, but obviously this wouldn't suit everyone.

It was very nice stay! Lovely building, room, coffee, back yard is amazing!!! And very nice staff here. Tasty breakfast in the warm morning in the garden... I can only recomend. Our room was in third floor and was very comfy and quiet. If you go to Olomouc, you have to stay here!

My stay in this cute hotel made my day in beautiful Olomouc in June 2024. Everything was just perfect, from the reception when I wanted to try their home baked cakes and got that as complimentary instead of coffee which I don't drink. Staff, all young, smiling people full of energy are extremely friendly and will do everything to make your stay unforgettable, feeling like home. Interior is lovely with high taste of beauty. It was a bit noisy as the room was on street side. Breakfast is beautiful, very personalized. The only negative point is parking that you have to take on the closest square and have to pay/hour. All in all, highly recommended and looking forward to come back sometime again.
