Strandkind - Dein Ostseehotel

We were not guests at the hotel, but went on an exclusive sailing trip with Olaf. It was an absolutely unique, wonderful experience! Just our group with the experienced skipper Olaf, who was incredibly relaxed and friendly. We felt completely safe and looked after. A really great experience! The absolutely individual care and the great a**osphere will make it an unforgettable experience for us! Absolutely recommended!!

We went on a short vacation and were very satisfied. We will therefore stay at this hotel again next year.

A beautiful hotel for the whole family in a great location. We have been here for the second time. We particularly liked the unusual rooms, this time we had one with a climbing wall and a large cave where the children could sleep. Decorated with lots of love and lots of details and with a sea view too 😍 The food is also very varied and absolutely delicious. A feast for the palate, especially the barbecue evening! There are also lots of games for the children, so the time in the restaurant is great for young and old. There is a deduction for the lunch for the children: most children didn't find what they were looking for here, as it wasn't very child-friendly (e.g. stew with vegetables). A few dry noodles as an addition would have been great here. The service was also a bit slow in places. In addition, the rooms are only cleaned every other day, which can get very sandy with small children and close to the beach. Daily vacuuming would be great. Overall, another great holiday with wonderful moments, especially the pirate day on the beach was unforgettable for the children! But given the prices, we would expect a few more nuances.

Great hotel, great concept, child and family friendliness is a top priority. Dogs are also allowed. It was a quiet, pleasant and personal a**osphere at all times. The food was top notch.

When we booked, we assumed that it was a family hotel, as the name suggests. The proximity to the neighboring clinic was a key factor for us. After arriving, we were pleasantly surprised by the genuine friendliness and very pronounced customer orientation of the entire staff. Of course, there were also families with small children in the hotel. We found that very refreshing. We would go back anytime.

The Strandkind is a hotel where young and old alike get their money's worth on holiday. Four of us stayed at the Strandkind for a week and experienced both good and bad. We stayed in a family cabin with a view of the Baltic Sea. The room was very spacious and in good condition. The same applied to the small children's bedroom with a bunk bed and a bathroom with a shower. Unfortunately, it was not possible for the room to be cleaned in the morning all week. So it was a regular occurrence that the rooms had to be cleaned at nap time. The food included half board for the adults and all-inclusive for the children. Breakfast was plentiful but lacked a little variety. The children's lunch and the snack/cake in the afternoon ranged from good to mediocre. In the evening there were changing themes (BBQ, American (burgers), fish, etc.). Some dishes were excellently prepared and others were average. The same applied to drinks: water (still/sparkling) was available free of charge all day. The fully automatic coffee machine could be used until after breakfast. Spritzers and juices were free until the afternoon. Coffee was available after breakfast and soft drinks and spritzers were available with dinner. Unfortunately, the drinks were not well managed, as children could only serve themselves to a limited extent. During the stay, further measures were taken to change the situation. All in all, there is still a lot of potential for improvement in terms of food and drinks. The older children were not particularly happy that the Happy Club, Teenie Bude and Mini Bude were in the basement. And we parents didn't really like the fact that the children were entertained with a film (approx. 1 hour) in the basement on 2 evenings a week (despite the good weather). The following evenings showed that the children can also be kept busy outside. The activities (archery, climbing wall, SUP, kayak and campfire with marshmallows) were really good, although they were usually only offered once a week with a limited number of participants. Unfortunately, not every hotel guest had the opportunity to try out the activity under supervision. There is certainly still room for improvement here. All in all, we still had a relaxing week. In addition to many great approaches, there are also a few points where there is room for improvement. If you continue to work on these points, you are on the right track. Other family hotels in a similar category are currently a bit better, even if they are not located directly on the Baltic Sea.

We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our time as a family at Strandkind! The playground next to the dining room meant that we as parents could enjoy our meals a little longer, as our children (5 and 10) could go outside to play. There were also always board games and books in the dining room, so that you could keep yourself occupied even when the weather was bad and the children finished eating earlier than the parents. Everything was very stylishly decorated (which is unfortunately not always the case in family hotels...) and the a**osphere was always calm and relaxed, despite the hotel being fully booked in high season. The staff were always very helpful in responding to requests and special requests (when our son insisted on eating baguette with strawberry jam in the evening...). So we absolutely recommend the trip!
