Arena Hotel La Defense

La Defense Nanterre|1.05km from Isee
My main complaint is that the air conditioning was off during our whole stay. We dreaded getting back to the hotel because we knew it would be hot and uncomfortable. The woman in the lobby was incredibly unfriendly and said that the AC was turned off to save on costs and that it wouldn't be turned on until April 28. April 29 came around (when we gladly checked out), and the AC was still off. The website advertises that all rooms have AC, which they do, but the hotel turns it off to cut costs. We asked if they at least had a fan, and she just said they didn't have fans. And the windows don't have screens on them, so if you open them to get some cool air in your room, you basically have an open hole to the outdoors. That was great when we opened ours, and the first thing we saw was a huge spiderweb with a spider on it by the corner. Also, the lobby is on the third floor of a building, and there is no elevator or escalator, so good luck getting there with disabilities or heavy luggage. Furthermore, the shower drain clogged the first night. The night staff spoke very little English, but we were able to work with them, and they moved us to a different room with a working drain. Since they seemed more friendly than the daytime woman, we also told them about the AC, but all they said was to wait 30 minutes for the AC to work. Obviously, it never worked. Lastly, this hotel is very near a train station, but keep in mind that it is an RER station outside of the Paris area (it's not a metro station), so if you get the Navigo card, that won't get you as far as you need to go. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, nor would I stay there ever again.

Me and my partner stayed here for 1 night, rooms were very standard. There was problems with the hot water throughout the hotel in the evening so couldn’t have a hot shower. By morning there was hot water. Food was delicious in their restaurant. Bed was a little hard and uncomfortable but not too much to disturb any sleep. Staff were helpful and kind.

The hotel was very professional, the room and the bathroom were clean and well-organised. The restaurant with the entrance and desserts buffets (I've enjoyed the kittens made home ) and the choice of hot dishes on the buffet or on the map were appetiteful and well presented. The hotel is very nice and very professional.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at CitizenM Paris La Défense. To begin, the Check-In and Check-Out processes at the hotel were quick and efficient. My room was comfortable with amazing views of the Grand Arche and the La Defense Arena. The room was small but laid out well and chic. The mattress was King size and provides an amazing sleeping experience. The staff was very attentive, professional and friendly. They went out of there way to help me get around and enjoy my stay in Paris. Additionally, the hotel is located next to one of the largest malls in Europe. So, there are many choices for food and shopping. Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay while in Paris!

Hello everyone, we tried the Amandier Hotel on Christmas 2021. We could have a superior double room for around 80 euros which is a reasonable price. Here are the positive and improvements points of that hotel: - The team is very friendly and reception check-in was good. - The breakfast buffet was rich and various - I loved the mini-sized Nutella boxes - The bed was very comfy - The parking space is very practical Here are the two points of improvement we can see: - please warm the room prior to the customer arrival because it was freezing cold as we arrived (the heaters are working well after a few minutes) -please close the parking at night, it is much safer than leaving it open all night long I would definitely reserve there again when we come into the area. Kind regards, L.

We stayed 4 nights in the Residence part of the hotel so my comment is purely based on that. The residence rooms are housed in a separate building very close to the hotel and are with a little kitchenette and living room area. We were in room 526 which is a corner room and is quite spacious. First the good bits: the hotel is ideally located with the RER (High speed suburban trains) station next door to the hotel/residence. This makes access to central Paris extremely easy. The staff were overall friendly and helpful. The car park is right under the main hotel. On that point, we booked a parking space (in the same carpark) through One Park which turned out cheaper than directly through the hotel. Then the not so good bits: our room lacked a bit of tender loving care and while not outright dirty (to the point of contacting the management of the hotel), it was just not clean (in the way a hotel guest has the right to expect cleanliness). The walls around the shower had marks that proper and regular cleaning would deal with (that is probably connected to the fact these rooms are only cleans every 4 days during long stays). Shower gel/shampoo is provided in the shower but the sink part has to make do with a small bar of soap which looks cheap. The blinds in the kitchen were also dirty. The living room area was supposed to have a sofa bed which would have made the area flexible (sofa by day, bed by night) but instead there were 2 single beds, limiting the flexibility and day comfort. In general, the room lacked daily attention with curtains falling off hooks, doors difficult to close, plugs not securely attached to the wall and light switches that did not turn any lights on. It is a real shame because otherwise the whole set up is quite pleasant. I am just not convinced this helps create a positive image of the Mercure brand in a competitive environment.
