Hôtel Mercure Paris la Défense Grande Arche

I book by trip and already paid by online. But when i am check in (mid night) the guy ask my credit card and ask around 300 something EURO. As i remember he ask for deposit. But after 3 days i left the hotel and check my credit card transaction, i see there is any debit on that day. I hope the hotel will GIVE BACK MY MONEY. I will always follow up this until i get back my money.

A hotel where you can enjoy every metro passing underneath, including a room shaking (i was in 304). Ridiculously loud. Breakfast mediocre and not ready in time, be prepared to face closed breakfast room doors, no croissants/pain au raissin because they forgot to bake them, and cold scrambled eggs. Staff was not receptive to complaints and started talking French with eachother not knowing I understand French perfectly as well............you should never ever start lying to your customers......Never ever again as this lousy experience came at a significant pricetag. Not worth the money at all, being there for business purposes a good quality sleep is paramount, and believe me, this hotel guarantees extremely poor sleep and mediocre breakfast. 2/10 score (and I have seen some hotels all over the world)

We picked this hotel as it has a great connection to the RER line which has you in central Paris in 12 minutes from literally next door to the hotel. It had a confusing layout as it is situated on two sides of a circular plaza, if you are booked in the .Res section you are on one side, however your reception is on the other side and no signs make this clear if you arrive at the wrong side. (If you do walk straight across the circular plaza to find the hotel side). Hotel side is lovely and had modernised rooms; I stayed in the Res. side and had a large room, it was very quiet and comfortable. The decor was a little dated however the price reflected this so was not an issue. Would recommend for Paris on a budget

We stayed for 4 nights in 2 different rooms (24th to 28th of June). The rooms were average; towels and bed lining were old and the toiletries were scarce and incomplete. We found out when we arrived to the room that they would clean it for 15 euros extra per day. Asked twice for the service and it never happened. Jesse the person who tried to help us did what he could but there was no manager available. I stayed with my previous company Royal Canin hundreds of times in Accor hotels. I never had such a bad experience. This hotel should not be even a Formula 1.

Firstly - I think you should change the name of the hotel to something completely different to the other Mercure La Defense. It's ridiculous to have two hotels so close with the same name. Our taxi took us to the wrong one and we were told "this is always happening ". So we had to get another taxi back. Once we arrived at the correct hotel we realised it was in a great location for the arena la Defense where we were seeing Bruce Springsteen. It's literally five minutes walk which is lovely when you come out of the concert. There are lots of bars and restaurants so we never left the area. But there is a metro very close to get into the centre. Check in was very smooth and efficient and the staff were very helpful. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and great shower. Perfect place if you're going to a show at the arena.

Very big and clean room. Seperate toilet and shower. That is perfect. Also they are seperated from the bedroom with a door. Good bed and really near to the metro station.

We stayed 4 nights in the Residence part of the hotel so my comment is purely based on that. The residence rooms are housed in a separate building very close to the hotel and are with a little kitchenette and living room area. We were in room 526 which is a corner room and is quite spacious. First the good bits: the hotel is ideally located with the RER (High speed suburban trains) station next door to the hotel/residence. This makes access to central Paris extremely easy. The staff were overall friendly and helpful. The car park is right under the main hotel. On that point, we booked a parking space (in the same carpark) through One Park which turned out cheaper than directly through the hotel. Then the not so good bits: our room lacked a bit of tender loving care and while not outright dirty (to the point of contacting the management of the hotel), it was just not clean (in the way a hotel guest has the right to expect cleanliness). The walls around the shower had marks that proper and regular cleaning would deal with (that is probably connected to the fact these rooms are only cleans every 4 days during long stays). Shower gel/shampoo is provided in the shower but the sink part has to make do with a small bar of soap which looks cheap. The blinds in the kitchen were also dirty. The living room area was supposed to have a sofa bed which would have made the area flexible (sofa by day, bed by night) but instead there were 2 single beds, limiting the flexibility and day comfort. In general, the room lacked daily attention with curtains falling off hooks, doors difficult to close, plugs not securely attached to the wall and light switches that did not turn any lights on. It is a real shame because otherwise the whole set up is quite pleasant. I am just not convinced this helps create a positive image of the Mercure brand in a competitive environment.
