Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto-Hachijoguchi

Excellent hotel! Very clean, welcoming staff, and a comfortable room size — a bit small, but that’s perfectly normal in Japan and not an issue at all. The staff speak English, which made the communication easier. The breakfast is good but I found it a bit limited in variety. The location is fantastic: just a few minutes’ walk from Kyoto Station, next to a shopping mall, and with a Lawson right next to the hotel— hard to beat! I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

Was in Kyoto for 4 nights, and this was my second Sotetsu stay from Kobe (stayed the same hotel too during my first night at Kobe Sannomiya) and was absolutely blown away by the good service! Everything necessary was well catered for, you can just refill the toiletries as and when needed, staffs were also very friendly and helpful. There are many good food around the hotel vacinity, Aeon Mall and Advent Mall (there is Don Quijote in it) was just right beside from a few minutes walk (all within 10mins stroll). Lawson is just right beside, FamilyMart is just 5 mins away. Laundry and drying service is just right at hotel's level 1, bedding and pillow are also super comfy! Overall I am very impressed and happy at the stay in this hotel, a definite go-to choice for my future stay in Kyoto. A little pricey, but considering all the facts that it is very near Kyoto Shinkansen, with all good food and amenities around, it's worth every penny you paid for! Very good hotel in a good location with a Lawson convenient located nearby for late night convenience store snacks. The luggage storage was very convenient as was the offering of various bathroom amenties.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed based on close distance with Kyoto station Hachijou exit (if you choose the wrong exit then it will take time). The only downside from the hotel is the room is small compare to other hotels in Japan so it is hard to open our luggages. Other than that, everything was perfect. The staff was helpful and caring. They provided umbrellas for free to rent on the rainy day and I love how they always put weather forecast on the small board in the reception desk in a cute way. There is also a Lawson next to the hotel which is really convenient for us to buy something. As a vegetarian (one pax can't eat garlic and onion) , the breakfast was just okay. There are quite variety to eat but if you can't eat garlic and onion, you can only eat salad but the vegetables are fresh and delicious. After all I would still choose this hotel for my next visit to Kyoto.

Stayed at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto - Hachijoguchi and had a great experience. The location is excellent—just a short and easy walk from Kyoto Station. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. The room was comfortable and well-maintained. I also liked that all the amenities are provided at the lobby and you can take what you need anytime. Very convenient! There’s also a convenience store right next to the hotel, which made everything even easier. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I would definitely come back again.
